I always enjoy hearing that little Ida voice from a distance :) Some great tips, including using your cup as a lid to the water bottle when you're boiling your water. So simple, it's one of those, "doh, why didn't I think of that" things, yet I have never seen anyone mention or show that ever.

Some very good tips. Thank you. I’ve been on a couple of long cold weather skiing expeditions and on trips like that I always bring an extra 1 liter Nalgene bottle as a dedicated pee bottle. When it’s -30C you really don’t want to go outside to pee in the middle of the night. And because you’ve then opened the sleeping bag for a couple of minutes to pee you’ve lost some heat. I get some of that lost heat back by bringing the bottle with the warm pee inside the sleeping bag. Another thing I do on cold weather expeditions is to tape a strip of closed cell foam around anything metal I have to hold, like my shovel handle and my metal thermos bottle (I usually cut pieces from a retired cell foam sleeping pad).
@sharamkh awesome tips ! Consider yourself pinned my friend. I use a small , used , fabric softener bottle for my inside the tent wees. Doesn't stink up the tent or the sleeping bag
Another very helpful video, like the idea of sticking your food inside the bottle, so obvious once you realise but easily overlooked.

Brilliant, thank you! In defense of carrying a 2L /64oz bottle: while bulky, I find it still cozy warm in the morning when using it as a hot water bottle, while I am the one warming up my 1L /32oz bottle from about the half-way point on an unexpectedly cold night. To be sure, i prefer carrying enough insulation not to rely on a hot water bottle at all. Thoughts?

I've still got L2L Horseman, #19 in my grubby lil hands. I'm trying to decide between a Helle Nord or Nordlys. I should just give in and get both of them to end my dilemma. 😂

Any thoughts on eye protection/ eye safety gear when bushcrafting/ wildcamping. We only have one pair of eyes and i often feel its overlooked, thanks for all the great tips.
Very much agreed. Too many people rely on the "safety squint".
