    That is depressing. My dad when he was still alive would always bring us, his family there even though it was far from our home in Bacolod. Times really have changed once again

      Hope they have a plan for the place

    Ayala put all their resources in Capitol Mall in Bacolod in fact some of the tenants already transferred there.. They are focus on making this a BPO Mall and retain the Supermarket. The location was put near the Ayala community subdivision and it's far away from the Talisay City Proper.

    As a side note, this was my goto place during the lockdown to get spirits (remember Bacolod proper shut down sales of alchohol). It was easy for me because it seems if your on a bicycle (which I am 100% of the time), everyone just waves you through. They never checked my saddle bags to any degree if at all. I kept properly pickeled during the entire lockdown.

    I remembered buying a video game at a store on the 2nd floor,eating at army/navy,and celebrating my b-day at a japanese resto, my bro used to work at one of the establishments there
    Sad to see what it became,only iqor and the supermarket are keeping it afloat

    I don't consider it bankrupt yet coz there are still tenants operating and most especially...vacated spaces are used as BPO offices and the Metro Supermarket still caters to the homeowners of the Ayala Land Premiere Subdivisions in the area

    • @asianight9188
      @asianight9188  ปีที่แล้ว

      The supermarket keeps the area going for sure, there must be a plan for the big indoor mall, they can't just give up on it

    It's kindof baffling why they put a mall there in all places. Back when it was first opened and I always feel like there's no incentive to visit the stores. Yeah sure, as someone who lives in Talisay, this is much closer than SM, Rob and Ayala Capitol but those places offer more shops. Army/Navy's like the only place I keep on coming back but they're sadly gone too

    • @lancefortaleza3665
      @lancefortaleza3665 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hence it's just a District mall..To cater its Homeowners in the vicinity...we must know that Ayala has residential subdivisions there..Three markets were targeted..The budget,Middle class and high end....

    This is actually like somewhat of a strip mall that shouldn't have happened but unfortunately politics got in the way and pressured Ayala to place one here OF ALL PLACES. Ayala wanted to wait for a specific area in Bacolod (which by now is doing extremely well) but this was a total bomb before it even started

  • @ronalve144

    ah man - missed the premier - anyway - thanks again for a great video. Ayala Northpoint has been dull drum for ages now . . . very sad - just not enough people in the area and nothing much to draw people there. They should have done like they did for new subdivisions . . .. build a McDonald's or even better a Burger King.
    Yes - definitely miss Army Navy Burrito and burgers.
    It's just too "out of the way" -ish.

    This place is quiet far from the city proper.. Most would either go to SM City or Ayala Mall-Capitol instead.

  • @ickysnowman

    I've been there a few times and it feels like the mall is too car dependent for foot traffic. You can never really take a bike or just walk going there because of how it was planned.
    I wish the Philippines would start redesigning its cities that would make them pedestrian friendly like Tokyo, Singapore or Dutch cities.

    • @asianight9188
      @asianight9188  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think they used to have their own transport to the city and back, but it didn't click

    It’s not surprising big malls are closing down!There’s just too many around!It’s a wonder how the locals can afford the high end products with their present daily salaries.

      People now shop on shoppee and Lazada, it must really hurt the malls

    • @glennhiggins5425
      @glennhiggins5425 ปีที่แล้ว

      Online shopping will hurt big business.
      Example, malls can't compete, nor the little man once big corporations realise, surely items will get cheaper, after this inflation easier out.

    • @asianight9188

      And people are shopping on line these days, it's usually cheaper and easier

    • @Gemini530
      @Gemini530 ปีที่แล้ว

      @asianight9188 ... That's true as well. But I think the main reason is that Bacolod/Silay population is too small to support a lot of malls. Especially two high-end malls. I bet Silay and Talisay residents have been going to Ayala Bacolod instead of Talisay, and why not? It's bigger, has more stores, it's newer, and it's in Bacolod. That's the mindset and culture of the locals. Once something new comes up, that's where everyone goes, until something newer and bigger and better comes up 😅

    • @Gemini530
      @Gemini530 ปีที่แล้ว

      @panayfunWatchMyVideos Iba-iba naman kasi ang financial capacity or even culture ng bawat lugar. Sa Bacolod kasi, mahilig ang tao sa kung ano ang mas bago at mas sikat at the moment. Yon din ang reason kung bakit nagsara ang Gaisano mall when SM opened. Kung puro estudyante lang naman ang pumapasok, di mabubuhay ang mall. Those who actually shop would rather go to SM. Same mentality goes with Ayala Talisay. Why shop at Ayala Talisay when you can have more fun shopping at Ayala Bacolod na malapit lang din naman? Kaya ayon.

  • @lizahalili6695
    @lizahalili6695 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah, it’s closedown one reason maybe during the Covid Pademic. They should not close the Mall because now, too many residential in that area. Like Ayala, Amaia and Avila. Which is ver convenient to the residence. Good thing that Metro Supermarket is still there. Stay safe and healthy 💪. Here’s watching OFW Kuwait.

    The mall is nowhere near bankrupt. This is something to get you to watch. Alot of business did close during covid. But leading viewers on is a bit much. I shop that mall all the time. It's fine. Most of the time there is no parking available except the back where u went!!

    • @asianight9188
      @asianight9188  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The supermarket and call centre are doing ok, but the old mall, it is taped up like a crime scene, the shops there were always empty, it looks bankrupt to me

    • @brucecanny
      @brucecanny ปีที่แล้ว

      It's demise as a mall began way before covid. Success if a perspective. Just like the Robinson mall south of town, is it successful? Well, yes, as a call center. Was it successful as a Mall? No.

  • @NicoAG_
    @NicoAG_ ปีที่แล้ว

    Ayala has some great plans before to even expand the place if the mall goers pick up however, giving priority to exclusive and expensive tenants was the reason why it didn't become successful, they should have put up Jollibee, Chowking, McDonald's, Burger King and other people drawer tenants and that mall should still be full of people up to now, even Felicia's, J Co and Starbucks could have still been there. What a sad ending for a supposedly community mall.

    It's too damn far. The old Robinson's mall still has more people but my go to place when I'm on vacation is SM. And the only place I frequently visit in the new Ayala mall is the Coffee Bean. I went inside and I thought it's boring. Even the grocery was boring.

  • @brucecanny

    Is RibShack also closed? That was the last go to place for me since Army/Navy shut down. I was hoping A/N would open in Capital, but to no avail. Also, looks like Ace Hardware, one of 2 last standing in the mall proper, is gone. Correct?

    Really a shame, I liked that mall esp for the restos the boodle place and the sushi joint and my wife's fav donut shop. Seemed to be struggling by 2019, my guess is the plandemic did it in for good. If that Metro closes, I will be super bummed. Hopefully the Landers is erected before then.
