- wow so cool - my vinyl record collection at the age of 21. as well as my record player and vinyls set-up. i've wanted to upload this video for a loooong time simply to document where my music taste is at this time in my life.

Glad to hear you appreciate them more now. My favourite Janis is the album Kozmic Blues. And I'm totally in love with Carole King's Tapestry album. I bought it one day on a whim because I loved the cover, it gave me this lovely autumn feeling, and when I took it home and played it I just meltttttttted.
A trick : watch movies on Flixzone. Been using it for watching all kinds of movies these days.

Most people who make videos of their record collection have halsey, the 1975 and a beatles record from their aunt or something, but I love that you don't care about the aesthetic you just buy records if you genuinely like them!! you're awesome!

yes i think there's no better way to start youtube if it's not for yourself. i love posting videos so I can catalogue my taste. however, watching back these super old videos is sorta cringey now hahaha

awww thank you!!! a number of people love to tell me that it will ruin my records, but i think they fail to realise it is just a temporary solution while i am studying and can not save up for a better player! i try to limit the amount of times i play my older records on it as i don't wanna ruin them
This was such an awesome record collection to watch because I actually had never heard any of your personal albums all the way through. A couple of the inherited classics (i.e. Rumours, my favorite album of all time) I had heard, but none of the more modern things. I wrote down tons of names of these artists to check out. I had heard a few songs by the National and the Cure and the Smith, but other than that, this video is hours of music discovery at its finest, so thank you!! Really enjoyed this

I love your music taste. Its great to see more variety in people's collection here. Most people have the same records and it gets stale. Great to see someone who shares the same bands and artist.
Also I love Radiohead. In Rainbows is my favorite album from them. It's 10 songs but every song is just amazing. Sadly only In rainbows is in my collection but I want to get Hail to the Thief which is my second favirote because how slow the songs are but how electronic and almost glitchy they can be.
Honestly i get quite sick of all the 1975/lana del rey/21 pilots vinyl collections... i wanted to add more variety to these types of videos on youtube and i'm glad i did! not to say it's a bad music taste, but i just prefer to see a wider range of music.
and yes in rainbows is my favourite album of all time - the only song i don't love off the album is house of cards! hail to the thief is a doozy!! myxomatosis, where i end and u begin, there there.... just wow

and yea i feel the same about the young girls on youtube with their vinyl collections - a lot of lana del rey and 1975.. i originally explained in my introduction that i wanted to add some variety to the youtube vinyl collections, but cut that part out because i don't want to appear that i think i'm above other people because of my music taste :) but yes i feel ya!

I love The Rover too, it’s not as widely talked about as other songs on Physical Graffiti, but it could be my favorite sing on the album

Cool video and a great record collection there. I've seen a lot of videos with girls around your age and their collections and I always see pretty much the same things like Lana Del Rey, 1975, Harry Styles etc, but it's so refreshing to see someone with such a broad and varied taste in music. The B52's were great. I love their album Cosmic Thing and if you don't have it at the moment I highly recommend you check it out, it's a fantastic album. The Carole King Tapestry album you showed is awesome. I have that one too and it's one of my favourites. I also have Rumours by Fleetwood Mac which is another favourite of mine, but I also recommend Tango In The Night which features the hits Big Love, Everywhere and Little Lies. That's a fabulous album too. Have fun building your record collection and happy listening.
While I do love a lot of Harry Styles and Lana Del Rey music, they definitely are over saturated when it comes to younger people's vinyl collections haha. I prefer variety myself. Thanks for the appreciation! I need to pick up more B-52's - i totally agree! After I filmed this video .. a very long time ago now... I got more into that Carole King album and quite like her now. Thanks so much!

Finally found someone who enjoyed In Rainbows and the exact same song on it as much as I do! May I suggest an album - Here We Go Magic's "A Different Ship". It's by the same producer as Radiohead's. Track "Over the Ocean" especially

Fantastic video. Great to see a fellow Aussie on here. Some awesome faves too. Love QOTSA, Radiohead, Interpol, Daft Punk. Only just got into The National with Sleep Well Beast (LOVE IT!). Bon Iver is fantastic and I agree. The earlier acoustic stuff is much better. And Led Zep IV is a CLASSIC! My copy misspelt Misty Moutain Hop.
Love your inherited ones as well. Some great records there.
Sad music is definitely my fave as well. They are just usually much better songs :)

By the way. Died Pretty, Peel Sessions,Cure and B52’s look to be in PVC sleeves.Make sure you change those or your records will get ruined. Could be many more in those older ones as they were what was around back then. You can see they are starting to wrinkly. Especially in Oz they can be really Bad. You will find eventually the record start to go fuzzy and sound bad.

Bloc party silent alarm is a good album
don't ditch the simon and garfunkel live album, that was from the famous concert in central park. it was a free concert that drew in millions in 1980, they had been broken up for ten years at the time, so it was their reunion! it's a really good album, and it's got a lot more history to it than most live albums do.
also if you love new wave, you gotta get Rio. every song of rio is gold, but my favorite duran album is probably arena, which is a live album. Another recommendation if you love the wackiness of b52s, you'd love devo i think. they are like the gorillaz of the 80s, they have their own little mythos.

great video and music taste! I would suggest giving Simon and Garfunkel live another go, it's really good, and if you like sad songs.. they have some! :-) and I regretted quite a few things that I sold or gave away later on, so be carefull with what goes..

I love Radiohead. Did I miss Kid A? lol I honestly can never pick a favorite between ok computer, in rainbows, and kid a. I remember getting in rainbows at midnight from their website and being shocked that you could pay nothing. radiohead did so many things that just hadn't been done before . Musically of course, but even like the pay zero option. It had been done before, but not by someone that big. Everyone was in a panic about the sales and then it still was #1 i believe.
i do not own kid a, but i have a goal to own all their records one day :)

as this movie is from 2017 and it is my first movie i see from you i guess i have a lot more to see hahaha. let me start with that i like the way you tickle your noise everytime hahaha,, its like a wicky the vicky (kids cartoon if you ever heared from it) when he comes up with an idea hahaha. okay vinly stuff.. nice movie and nice collection you have. arcade fire and crown of love, listened to it and yes thats an great what awesome song, thx for giving me another search hahaha.. also harvest great album, and old man is indeed a great song, i makes me sing always with that song whahahaha (and im not a good singer :P..).. fleetwood mac i listen a lot to the begin period with peter green, its more blues than pop/rock, love your joy division albums,, here also like 5 or 6 joy divisions in the collection,, little jealous of those peels,, funy thing: give the "crap" to my boyfriend :P hahahaha)! from . myself, im collecting records for like 10 years now but did not know the vc was so strong on youtube, thinking of starting some movies for myself hahaha, with 2500 records i think i could make some movies. well all and all nice movie and im gonna watch some more soon!! keep it up and greetings from Holland. oh btw the led zeppelin, yes it is called led zepplin 4 these days but when it was released it was untitled.
oh my god i'm tickling my nose in this video so much due to the dust on my vinyl! i have quite sensitive allergies hahah. i've tried to stop doing it in my more recent videos. i love singing to old man and heart of gold by Neil Young!!! so fun. and Fleetwood MAc I was just listening to The Chain today by them in the car. i actually ended up keeping a lot of the vinyl i said i would give to my boyfriend haha, and come to really enjoy some of them. the Carole King is great. With artists who say controversial and bad things I normally try to separate the art from the artist. I may not agree with Morrissey the person but I still think I can enjoy his music for what it is. He might not be a good person but he is one of the best songwriters of the 20th century and I think it would be a shame to write off his music just because the artist is an idiot.

Thank you!! Yes I’m aware that my record player is low quality, and I said in the video that due to my study (and there’s other reasons too) I’m just not able to invest in a high quality record player at the moment but of course when I work full time, it will be a top priority!!
