If you wanted to get your food shopping bill down the best thing I can advise is to not buy so many convenience foods and just cook from scratch. Some of the convenience foods may not be calorific but I can assure you there will be a LOT of preservatives and additives. I appreciate you're a busy Mum, I am a single Mum and I tend to cook in bulk about 3 times a week, then I shuv the extra meals in the freezer, so half of the week I don't really have to cook at all. Saves on the dishes too! My little girl loves pizza too, so I just make my own dough once a month and freeze the rest of the dough in portions. It literally costs less than £1 for the bread flour and yeast. It is only my daughter and I and we both eat really well for £150 a month (including nappies, wipes, toiletries and cleaning products). I am on a very tight budget but I really do love cooking . Having said that, you managed to get quite a lot for £109! I enjoy your videos a lot x
I love how honest you are, I always feel so guilty that I’m not cooking from scratch and feeding my family super healthy stuff everyday but it’s so hard when you’re a busy working mum. It’s so refreshing to see someone keeping it real so thank you Kate. xx
We spend between £80 a week on food shopping for a family of 5. You could easily cut it down by not buying branded things and not buying grated cheese and packaged mash for example. We don't buy anything pre prepared and it saves so much money.x
I have to agree with the other comments on here about your choice of food for your children. The amount of salt and sugar in processed food is so harmful .Also it would be more economical to cut up your own vegetables and make your own mash potato and also it would taste much nicer.
I spend £45 a week for a family of 3 no pets. I shop online (Tesco) and if I go over budget I remove items from my basket. If I shopped in-store I could easily spend £100 and have no more meals x
So. Much. Plastic! Would you not consider cutting up your own fruit & veg? Making your own tuna and sweet corn sandwich filler? Such simple and easy changes really make a difference.
I love seeing your food shop hauls! It gives me so many ideas and snaps me back into meal planning for the week 🙈 would love to see more what I eat in a day vids too! x
Ok I don't know I got here, but I just watched your Aldi Advent Calendar, which was in my suggestion bar. And then I clicked on your page, the video where you thanked all your subscribers had me crying, which is really not me. And now I subscribed, just now, while watching this grocery haul. You seem like a normal person, without all the vegan and I roast bla bla bla and such (nothing against people who like watching that), but sometimes life just happens and you need work quickly and bake up something. Thank you for that and seeming like a down to earth and normal person. These days very rare on TH-cam. New subscriber from Holland :)
I love how you organised your weekly shop into meal ideas, i find it so much better to watch 😊 I usually shop at Tesco my weekly shop bill is usually between £40-£60 It's just me, my husband and my 1 year old daughter x
I live alone and spend around £20 per week on food by shopping at Lidl. That doesn’t include some of my lunches as I tend to buy a sandwich or something when I’m at work.
Just a tip. If you want to get more veges in, mix half and half cauli rice and normal rice. Add some salt And tell them the different texture is cheese... my 3 year old fell for it, ur boys might too...
Love the way you organised this shop! So satisfying to watch. It is more than I'd want to spend on a weekly shop, but it's so well organised, you'll probably have no wastage, and probably won't be running out to do any top up shops, which I always end up doing, and end up spending more anyway! You've well inspired me to be better at planning my shopping for the week x
After being tired of spending so much money on my weekly food shop and popping into the shops for a loaf of bread and end up spending £10 I decided to set a monthly budget of £400 reguardless whether it is a 4 or 5 week shopping month. I now meal plan every week, check my freezer, fridge and cupboards and write a shopping list. I have found this is the best way for me to save money, I also switched to Aldi this has saved me so much money, I no longer spend over £100 a week, in fact on average thus month I have been spending £70 a max week. Leaving the rest of the money to spend on other things.
I spent approx £130 a wk for our family of 6. Then end up buying more bread, milk and sandwich meat during the wk. I love that your honest with what you buy and theres some yummy food there. Just one question? Do you have a roast dinner on a sunday or during the week? My favourite meal ever ☺☺
£50 a week for a family of 4 our children are the same ages and my hubby is a big eater, I tend to buy non ready made as this saves a lot and shop in Aldi/Lidl with the small top up in Asda for brands line Heinz or green giant etc. No pets. If I do a shop in Asda one full basket costs me £70!
I have a family of 5 and budget to spend between £50/60 pounds a week, I get mine delivered from Tescos and find doing it online you can budget so much better and can find good deals especially when they do 3 for £10 on meat. Lots of fruit, lots of vegetables, yogurts & bake things with the kids when they fancy some treats! You are such a lovely family, love watching your videos!xxxx
Great haul Kate, live seeing what people buy and gives me ideas with my family. We spend about £70 a week, family of 5 with 1 dog. I'm also a busy man of 3 and choose the convenience options at times, were only human. Well done for defending your choices, as it's exactly that YOUR choice. Xxx
I spend about £30 a week for a family of two but with my job I probably take home about £60 worth of recipe boxes and veg a week that we get for free: so that’s just for our meat and extras. We cook everything from scratch and have a lot of meat free days to help keep our costs to a minimum! Bulk cooking our lunches (usually soups) help too as I can get 10 lunches for like 40p a serving
Loved watching it in meal ideas, always good to know what people are doing with the food shop for inspiration ☺️ me and my husband spend about £150 I think weekly but with 4kids sometimes less Xx
really love your videos and love how you've organised everything in to meals, makes life much easier! Would you consider on your next shop buying all your fruits and vegetables loose? Sadly none of the packaging is recyclable or compostable but most supermarkets will do a loose version (I know it means cutting up the carrots lol which I hate doing!) it's better for the environment and if we all do a little bit it makes a huge difference :) looking forward to your next video!
Me and my partner spend £25 for both of us most weeks but when we need to do a big shop including toilet roll, cleaning bits and washing up powder etc it adds up to £40 once a month. We shop at Lidl :)
My average weekly spend is about the same as yours, between £100-£150 that’s for a cat, a dog, myself and my husband, and our 4 children aged 15,13,11 and 9.
You should mix the rice half and half with the cauliflower rice to get them slowly into it, love this video has given me loads of inspiration for my next food shop xx
I spend £45-£60 a week for two and do a weekly grocery haul. I shop at Ocado usually so know I could bring the cost down if I needed to but I love their selection
I really appreciate that you said this in a polite and helpful way! Some of my favourite meat free meals are cottage pie made with lentils, Quorn fajitas, veggie sausages and mash, and curry with chickpea and sweet potato.
We have really cut down on our meat consumption and have been trying to swap in as many meat free options as possible. It has helped us massively cut down on cost, and havent felt like we've missed out on anything that we'd usually have as we've had steaks, fajitas, pies etc.
I like how you worded this many vegan and vegetarian people try slamming people for eating me and telling them it’s some sort of sin thank you for being different my favourite meal for vegetarian is jacket potato with salad (extra onion) 🥰
Loved seeing this very much like my food shop. I have a family of five three boys and me and partner plus three dogs and I find I spend around the same so I don’t think that’s a lot but some people do I’ve tried get mine down but always end up going in middle week for more etc. Xx
I spend about £80 a week for a family of four and no pets. I’ve been told I’m over spending but we consume everything I buy so I can’t help it! A friend of mine told me she only spends 30-50 max a week for her family of four and I felt like I was not being savvy enough! Happy to see I’m not crazy and it’s actually average 😅
Great video, my fruit kebab tip is to use straws😉 we have 'rainbow kebabs' (watermelon/orange/mango/kiwi/blueberries/red grapes) most weeks so I invested in stainless steel straws. I used to get pampers pull-ups until a friend recommended asda little angels, now we save so much money buying asda pull-ups 😉
Gosh people love to judge don’t they. Cook what you like ignore the comments. We spend anywhere between £60 to £80 depending on nappies, wipes etc. 2 adults and 2 children. X
Love watching these kind of hauls....always get some different ideas for dinners...definitely need to try the meatball one.....off to see how Ash (mamarried) made it 😍
Ignore all the nasty comments my food shop is simlar each week my kids eat processed food so what mind your bussiness let her feed her kids what she wants and tbh it wasnt all that bad... love the food haul kate
My husband hates peppers too. You don’t have to use all the ingredients on the pack it suggests. Find an alternative you all like that will go with the rest of the meal.
Zoe Louise Williams I totally agree with you. I adore Kate Murnane and really appreciate her honesty too. We are all guilty of reaching for the handy option at times. I wish these things were not available or better still the packaging was all compostable. I was shopping at Tesco’s today and purposely chose glass jars instead of handy squeezable mayonnaise containers, chose loose apples and loose avocados and unfortunately still had to buy over packaged items.....due to lack of better options. I hope that plastic free options come very soon to large store chains and compostable packaging is made compulsory for manufactures in the food industry. I fear it’s a little too late but I hope we do at least try. Our oceans are full of plastic. It’s heartbreaking to see the damage and we all have a part to play in protecting the environment, the animals and our children’s future on this earth. We all contribute to this never ending mound of plastic everyday. New laws banning plastic packaging need to be created for everyone’s benefit.
Would you consider a paleo lifestyle? It is better for yours and your kids health and would cut down your shopping bill, since processed food isn't a thing. Love your videos and your style And I loved this video, it actually gave me some ideas, I'll just need to adapt some stuff to my diet. And your organization is awesome 🌺
I completely agree. I can see why so many kids end up with tooth decay and diabetes if this is a normal diet for any family. My children eat meat, eggs fruit and vegetables. No processed food. And dairy - which I know isn’t paleo but I think they benefit from cows milk. Pasta is no a healthy lunch option
@@megpalmer9196 I think every parent has the right to choose theirs and their kids diet. I don't condone people because they eat processed food. I think sometimes we don't have enough information that allows us to understand this kind of subject. For example, here in Portugal, doctors will advise you to eat digestive crackers, fat free yogurts and milk (when the only interesting part in a yorgurt is the fat, if the yogurt has the right ingredients), orange juice, no more than two eggs a week, no "real" butter, so we have the perception that fats cause cholesterol and heart disease, and actually nasty hydrogenated fats and sugars do cause that, but good fats help in those and many other conditions. What I mean is, when a doctor, or a health system tells you it's ok to eat some stuff, you believe them. So when I suggest a paleo lifestyle to someone I just hope they will research about it. That's why I suggested this to Kate. I really like her and her family, and apart from the Halloween candy I don't think she did bad, but she could improve, we all could. Until six months ago all I would eat was oreos, pasta and pizza. But I had someone who told me about paleo, I did some research and I though it was worthy, so I tried it and now I actually enjoy cooking and eating (I hated cooking, and I hated even more eating). I don't know if Kate already knows paleo or not, but if she doesn't I leave it as a suggestion, one she could decide to take or not, it's obviously her choice. Sorry for my English, it's not always the best.
Your English is perfect. I understand people make bad food choices because they are ill educated, I just get frustrated when they promote it. Diabetes (type 2) wasn’t heard of 50 years ago. The only thing that has changed is the amount of sugar that is consumed. I like Kate and her channel but promoting food that is not healthy shouldn’t be sponsored.
Honestly, I used to get worried because my little one was in size 4's at about 4/5 month! My little one is quite tall and on the 90th centile but still hahaha
Me and my boyfriend spend about 50pound a week for just the two of us and that’s in Aldi, and we still feel like we’re left with nothing! So bad at budget buying x
I was spending £130 a week on food shopping when I shopped at Asda 2 years ago for a family of 5 (2 adults, children14, 12 and 6) then I discovered Aldi! I now spend £80-£90 a week and never have to top up at Tesco express like I was doing and I get treats etc that I couldn’t afford to add to the shop at Asda. I always meal plan and I go with a list!!😊
I mean she ain’t really. Pizza is unhealthy yes, but what else was bad. A few snacks isn’t going to harm her or the kids. Calm yourself and focus on your life
I know I have no right to comment but I am shocked at how much single use plastic you have right there. Why not buy a potato instead of pre made mash? Boil and mash with some of that milk and butter you have? That casserole pack? Just buy some loose veggies and cut it? Pre shredded cheese? Pasta in a packet? I know this is your life and your family and you do what you think is best but I find when promoting things to a wide audience like you “you tubers” have you should be more mindful of things you do in your life in this current environmental climate. It has never been more important to cut down waste than it is right now. And you have the platform to show some kind of way. This whole TH-cam space is very irresponsible .
Zoe Louise Williams whilst I understand your point, I don’t personally think it’s irresponsible. It’s just honest. If I bought vegetables, and things to make food from scratch specifically for this video and told everyone I don’t buy food in single use plastic, then I would be lying because that isn’t what I do, and in turn I would be making other mums, parents and people who also shop like this feel bad about the fact that I’m making everything from scratch with no single use plastic items when the truth is, some weeks we do buy things for convenience, when we’ve only got 20 minutes to put something together for dinner. I agree it’s a global problem and something that needs to change, you’re completely right and it is something we need to be more mindful of. But trying to portray the perfect mum isn’t what I’m trying to do. On a weekly basis we make some meals from scratch, make some food from the freezer, some ready made food etc. Trust me, I’d love to buy everything organic from a farmers market and bring it home and cook incredible meals from scratch everyday but to be honest that’s just not my life. Amazing if it’s yours and I would be cheering anyone on that can manage that but all I’m trying to be is real xx
Zoe Louise Williams if you shop online it’s hard to avoid single use plastic anyway. If I buy a pack of vegetables it’ll come in a plastic bag. If I buy loose vegetables they put it in a plastic bag. Target the supermarkets, not individuals.
I never mentioned being a “perfect mum” and of course I understand the need to get dinner on the table quick it’s just a few small changes would actually help the environment. Buying pre made, pre shredded stuff has more food miles. Of course this is what you do and this is your normal but you put it on the internet, for discussion? For what reason? I just find these sponsored posts could be more mindful and show how little changes could still be convenient and not be detrimental to the environment. I am in no way a keyboard warrior thank you, I very rarely comment on anything. This video just made me want to comment and as far as I’m aware that’s the point of TH-cam “videos and discussion”
What I don’t get is pasta in a bag? How else do you buy it? If I filled my trolley with loads of loose carrots and potatoes the cashier would be horrified lol. And packaged cheese shredded- all cheese is packaged whether it’s shredded or not. You can do what you can do. Like Kate said it’s real life. Give folks a break.
Wow to some of the comments! You are lovely, great food shop. I spend anywhere from 80 to 130 dollars a week. Last week we spent 180 American dollars. I nearly passed out at the till!! Haha. My guy is 11 and would love super hero burgers.
I haaate being someone that comments something negative but please look into eating less red meat! It’s recommended (if any) to have it twice a month... in your food haul that’s about 4 x a week incl your lunch ham etc. It’s so important for you and your little boys digestive system and long term health! X
If you wanted to get your food shopping bill down the best thing I can advise is to not buy so many convenience foods and just cook from scratch. Some of the convenience foods may not be calorific but I can assure you there will be a LOT of preservatives and additives. It’s really surprising how much plastic is involved in a normal weekly shop, isn’t it?
It is actually horrifying.
So. Much. Plastic! Would you not consider cutting up your own fruit & veg? Making your own tuna and sweet corn sandwich filler? Such simple and easy changes really make a difference.
I love seeing your food shop hauls! It gives me so many ideas and snaps me back into meal planning for the week 🙈 would love to see more what I eat in a day vids too! x

Angie Lehmann theee from dunelm... I have the same ones in blue :)

Hi Kate Murana
Please can I ask where your knife block is from?
xItsMeNicolax I would love to know this aswell it's gorgeous!
Me and my partner spend £25 for both of us most weeks but when we need to do a big shop including toilet roll, cleaning bits and washing up powder etc it adds up to £40 once a month. We shop at Lidl :)

£80 for our family of four. It can be hard some weeks but I try to buy shop labels unless something is on offer. It’s reduced our budget hugely. X
that is so good in New Zealand food and meat are really expensive and at the moment for two people we are spending roughly $170-$200 a week!!!
So similar to our shops Kate, although I try to avoid the sweats in favour of more cheese lol!!!! Your kitchen is so amazing! Xxx
I like your shirt
Love watching these kind of hauls....always get some different ideas for dinners...definitely need to try the meatball one.....off to see how Ash (mamarried) made it 😍

We spend about £70 but there’s 3 of us and a doggie and no nappies to buy. Xxx
Family of four kids are 3 and 21 months £60-£80
Really good meal ideas Kate - I love fajitas but my husband hates peppers :-(
Sarah Cooper I don’t like peppers either so I just usally take them out mine
does he like baby corn? If he does you could slice those in half, or use ribbons of carrot! :)
My husband hates peppers too. You don’t have to use all the ingredients on the pack it suggests. Find an alternative you all like that will go with the rest of the meal.

going to try the dc burgers on my little one she's has anaemia and been told to increase her red meet but she 2.5 so fussy with meat x
I spend about 20/30 at the most a week. Sometimes make it last two. Depending what it is. And there’s just me
Great haul, You could also use straws for fruit kebabs X

@@avieirinha what an articulate and politely worded comment. Your English is better than most of ours 🤣❤
Oh fuck off I feed my daughter chocolate daily she also eats fruit and veg she’s fine happy healthy enjoy your kale
Blows my mind that Elliot is in size 4 nappies and my 7 month old is in size 5’s😂 have I just got a really big baby or is Elliot dinky 😂x
Amber Robinson my 13 month is still in 4s. But babies all grow at their own pace
My 9 Month old is in size 5 so I wouldn’t worry x
I was surprised about that too haha, my nearly 4 month old is in size 3s and I can see they're getting tight!!! X
Honestly, I used to get worried because my little one was in size 4's at about 4/5 month! My little one is quite tall and on the 90th centile but still hahaha
My 2 and a half year old is in size 4+ and my 1 year old is in size 3😂
Great video again
Wow you spend so much money on food I though I was bad but it’s hard isn’t it I’ve been there too used to spend loads now I’ve cut down xx
It is kinda weird to me how in some.countries you leave meat and the actual food for dinner 🤔🤔
same, where I'm from, their dinners would be our lunches and viceversa! lol
Me and my boyfriend spend about 50pound a week for just the two of us and that’s in Aldi, and we still feel like we’re left with nothing! So bad at budget buying x
My daughter doesn't do sandwiches either much better with a snack plate she eats more
WHO ELSE LOVES KATE?!?
Youre lovely 😘 thankyou girl
Your meant to use sour cream on the fajitas
💓💓
I was spending £130 a week on food shopping when I shopped at Asda 2 years ago for a family of 5 (2 adults, children14, 12 and 6) then I discovered Aldi! I now spend £80-£90 a week and never have to top up at Tesco express like I was doing and I get treats etc that I couldn’t afford to add to the shop at Asda. I always meal plan and I go with a list!!😊
👋🏼😘
You are feeding your family some really unhealthy food.
Good job she’s not asking you to eat it then 👍🏻🙄
And it tastes amazing
rikki payne some people just need to zip it 🤐
I mean she ain’t really.
Kate Murnane don’t explain yourself to these nosey perfect little keyboard warriors xx
Gosh you did good for a family of 4! It’s usually £120PW for a family of 2 in my house! 🙈 😂
Emmaline Silvester is this budget for food only?
😱
Egle Zvirblyte yes my husband eats A LOT! 🙊🙈🐷🐽😂🤣
Emmaline 😂
Wow to some of the comments! You are lovely, great food shop. I spend anywhere from 80 to 130 dollars a week. Last week we spent 180 American dollars. I nearly passed out at the till!! Haha. My guy is 11 and would love super hero burgers.
So unhealthy and so much plastic. Such a bad example.
Stop talking and get the food in the fridge and freeze
I haaate being someone that comments something negative but please look into eating less red meat! It’s recommended (if any) to have it twice a month... in your food haul that’s about 4 x a week incl your lunch ham etc. It’s so important for you and your little boys digestive system and long term health! X
I am so surprised by the amount of convenience food you buy, all pre packed, its a very lazy shop!! LOL
You eat an awful lot of meat & animal products......
Well. Not great. Disappointing
