Cannon and Ball, were an English comedy double act best known for their comedy variety show The Cannon and Ball Show, which lasted for nine years on ITV. The pair met in the early 1960s while working as welders in Oldham, Lancashire.
Bobby passed away suddenly in 2020 after being tested positive for Covid-19.
Recently Tommy was joined on stage by Bobby's two sons Robert and Darren and together they sang the Cannon and Ball theme song.

Thank you my friend. It is emotional and you can't help but feel for Tommy at the end. So sad but so happy they managed 60yrs together and left us with memories.

Wow I'm a wreck watching this, my childhood tv great performers, I had the luck and pleasure seeing them in Lincoln (UK) a few years ago in a theatre play,
The natural comedy chaos they brought, had the audience cracking up, even when they were not the main part of the “scene” going on
eg bobby was at the back of the theatre stage on a “ship” stage prop, his natural comedy presence just being himself was making the audience crack up, which took the focus off the main singer (bless her wasn’t her fault), in the end he had to exit “stage left” as they say so the focus was back on the main singer
Then they came back on and did their brilliant classic sketches which still stood the time, and made everyone laugh, just as I did back in the days
They were given a “50 years together” show business award that night
I am so lucky to have seen them live on stage, I'm now 51 at writing this, the whole family used to tune in and watch this brilliant duo all the time when I was a young one
Classic brilliance that is sooo missing in today’s entertainment

I first saw Cannon and Ball at Liverpool Empire in the late 70s I remember falling out of my seat laughing so much and I laughed every time I saw them . What a beautiful tribute.

God I remember CANNON and BALL in the early eighties.They had their own show and everything.I even remember seeing them on TISWAS and other people's t.v shows including Des o Conner's.I totally forgot about them when my family moved to America in 1981 which was only FOURTY years agoWhen I rediscover British comedy again, I started to look up other British acts that I enjoyed watching.Acts that were unheard of here in the states.Including CANNON and BALL.I was so shocked and saddened to hear that BOBBY BALL passed away 😢 from complications from covid.I just couldn't believe it.I hope TOMMY CANNON is doing well and staying safe.it must have been hard for him to perform in public without BOBBY.Thank goodness Bobby's sons were there to perform alongside him to know that he is loved.R.I.P BOBBY BALL, you're definitely won't be forgotten.
As a duo they leave a great legacy don't they.

It really hit me hard because a week or two earlier I lost my father suddenly to heart failure, he didn't die of COVID but it did hit me hard and even now I'm still not fully recovered from the heartbreak of it.

This is so heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. You can tell it was difficult for Tommy to sing this (probably because his friend wasn’t there with him and it was a painful reminder of him), but the fact that Bobby’s sons are helping him out is really sweet and touching.

Every time I hear this song the tears start,Bobby would have been so proud of u Tommy singing till the end just like the true professional u r. I had the privilege of seeing them in South Wales many years ago. We did nothing but laugh from the time they came on till the time they left. Goosebumps everywhere, their theme tune was an instant hit, and I still love hearing it today, saw them at Scarborough back in the 80s on stage, then a few years later at Skegness, they were the best thing on the tele for years when they were at their peak, in a league of their own. God Bless you Bobby, I hope he's enjoying your company up there.

Ive just come across this video today. Wonderful tribute to a fabulous comic and gentleman. I grew up watching these guys in my childhood/teens. The song always brings a tear to my eye. Im just glad we all had him for so long. RIP Bobby. ❤
