Beautiful shots. I can't wait until the new airport line and trillium extension opens on Jan 6th! I'll try to be in Ottawa at some point in the winter (probably during Winterlude) to check it out
Nice video Patrick and yes I agree I wish the REM stations had more artwork and different design for each station. Maybe we'll see cool looking designs for McGill and Eduard Montpetit and the rest of REM lines I'm looking to seeing the Trudeau Airport Station when they finally open..if I live that long given that there has been delay after delay with this project.
such pretty decorated trees in park i guess.i really dont know ottawa. been there 6 times only to the bus depot when rode greyhound from vancouver,bc to montreal. 1985,1987 dec,1988
One big correction - the line is automatic. The operator at the front just closes the doors and keeps an eye on things. The train is driving itself from station to station. In fact, should the operator forget to press the deadman switch, the train will automatically go to the next station, open the doors, and call emergency services. The operator can take over and drive in manual mode, but it isn't done in regular service as it would slow down operations.
I think I prefer the REM overall, it's nice that it's driverless! The seating is better on O-Train though, lots of double seats, instead of the "Every seat is middle seat" on the REM
the REM is a lot nicer yeah we don't even have temperature-controlled stations, during winter the underground stations are just as cold as standing outside
Hi Pat!...great ride. Must have been interesting to ride something different.
Yeah very refreshing.

Wow I was born in 1986. Sounds fun! I know bus service back then was much more frequent and better.
