Frikken wonderful mate. Best dang rundown of a rig that expulsion imagine- modular seems a lot more approachable now! Admittedly I’m at 17:02 right now just as you start jamming and I can’t wait to be taken to another bliss beyond this world ❤❤❤
I discovered this composition and performance through a post from Elmyra, and I was amazed to see Eric using it at the Proms! The concept of him conducting while performing on synths was mind-blowing. I hadn’t realized someone else was involved until Eric shared a snippet of this video. I’m so glad I found your work-it really resonates with my own creative interests. Thank you for this detailed breakdown, I was really curious about the setup, and your explanation added so much insight. Looking forward to seeing more from you! This version tightens the flow and adds warmth, highlighting shared creative interests and an eagerness to see more, fostering a connection.
Really nice overview of your setup, thank you! I am very much looking forward to seeing the whole performance, as I’ve only just listened via Eric’s link and it sounds beautiful. Cheers!
This is wonderful stuff! I am a bit of an Eric Whittaker fan and also have a modular system, so to hear that you have performed with him with a modular system is a bit mind-blowing! I had no idea this was happening but will definitely look out for future performances, if there are any... you examples here sound amazing and I can so totally hear them within an Eric Whittaker piece. It must have been a wonderful experience!
As someone who sang in choir in high school and college and performed a fair amount of EW pieces AND someone who makes weirdo electronic music this video was like tailor made for me lol. Very grateful to the YT algorithm for showing me this.
@@lesjamusic Kind of a smattering of things. Mainly this program called Renoise which is a fully featured DAW descended from old sample-based "tracker" programs. Ableton as well. Various hardware (MPC, Syntakt etc). It's kind of all over the place. Maybe that's why I never finish anything 😅
Funny that I strumbled across this. I heard it on the radio last week, sounded great. I was wondering is there anywhere to see the actual performance online. Had a look, but no joy. I am not in the UK. Anyway, looking forward to checking this video out. thanks
Amazing stuff! Have you considered using the norms as an additional FX processor? Scripts like RPLS or MLRE could be such an amazing complement to this set up.
Really beautiful piece/performance and setup too! I was curious about how you made your samples using using S+A. Would love if you could share a bit of your DAW sample processes or which specific plugins you were using? ✌
Hey sure thing! It’s really not too complex. With this one I just took a single note from one of my synths (can’t remember which!) and recorded it into the Cocoquantus - you could get a similar effect using bit depth distortion. I then used it in Slate & Ash cycles as the starting sample for a patch and played it across the keyboard. Hope that makes sense and thank you for the lovely comment!
“I’ll be honest I didn’t need everything that was on the desk” this is why we could fit the UPS on the deck! Having to wheel it out like some sort of power umbilical cord did seem fitting though…
😬😬😬😬😬😬😬 Like a little power baby. I think once I realised you had the best FX known to man up in the your rack, I realised my some of my pedals were maybe surplus 🙃
Thanks for the analysis! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?

I should have said Neutral Labs instead of Elmyra.

Unfortunately it wasn’t filmed! I purchased Xcelon literally for the gig and am so happy with it - thank you so much for an incredible mixer
Thanks for filming this! very cool
Thanks for watching! 🤘🙏❤️

Thank you Andy! You can still check out the recording of the performance on BBC iplayer / website / BBC Sounds app
PS show me your modular setup!
ah nice one man, really interesting to hear how you became a part of the whole performance. great job 👏🏻
🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️❤️❤️❤️
Very interesting. Thanks for posting. Love the classic sci-fi paperback photobombing
I’m glad someone noticed! My local Oxfam got a job lot and I bought a load!
Excellent, really interesting and inspiring!
Thank you friend! 🙏🤘🙇♂️

I am your algorithm! Seriously though thank you friend ❤️ what do you use to to make “weirdo stuff”?

Is anything ever truly finished? My take on that is that if you enjoy the process, you never want it to end 🤘

It wasn’t filmed because I have a face for radio! You can “listen again” though.
😍❤️🔥👏👏👏👏😍
🙏🤘❤️
So frickin cool man.
🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
@@lesjamusic can you make a list of all the modules, desktops devices, etc that you are using please? This is exactly what I've been searching for
Great ideas and sounds, really really.
Can I ask what script are you running in norns? :)
It’s a simple sampler but I’ve forgotten what it’s called - I’ll grab it for you!
Timber! I remembered ;-)

I use it for that stuff all the time! I love MLRE and Cheat Codes 🤘
You’re right - those applications would have been wonderful in this context

@@lesjamusic Thank you for the thoughtful reply- that makes sense! Cycles is wonderful.

Different functions! Yours were designed to be heard - mine were designed not to be heard!
@simonhendry71 👌👌👌
This is great! Any chance someone in the US could watch the performance? I would love to check it out.
Thank you friend! The audio was on bbc iplayer, but there was no filmed performance in afraid

You wot mate?
what am amazing rundown! it was so informative and borderline dangerous (...I'm throwing stuff around modulargrid as I type this)
Oh no! 😅😅😅
Really enjoyed this. One question - was there much signal drop using a passive mult to split the incoming mix?
The drop in signal from audio when using a passive Mult is tiny - I wil share an article one moment

@@lesjamusicbrilliant thanks for that!
