    Jeremy Jones - a phenomenal player and all of us are blessed by his depth of knowledge and his willingness to share his wisdom. Needs to be a hall of famer for his contribution to the game in so many ways. Already recognized as a one-pocket hall of famer.

      Me and Max have been buddys for 25 years. SUPER nice guy. He can be "a little funny" sometimes. (He was on a flat earth kick for a while ... even Joe Rogan mentioned him on his podcast once, it was funny!!!). But I love him. And if he could just relax..? When playing people whom he respects..? And play like he plays when he plays me? He'd be so much more formidable. But pressure is most of the game after a while.

    You announcers might want to think about those wanna be new pool players who may not know the current jargon used, nor understand the primary variables and how to control them as best as possible. Too much talk about english so you reduce that time and include what I suggest, the idea keeping these new people, subscribed, etc. to want to learn from the best. You are doing a fine job, make no mistake about it, voice pitch and volume...good presentation!

    • @onepocketnovice
      @onepocketnovice ปีที่แล้ว +7

      As long as you are down on the ball while the clock expires, you can continue the shot. If you get up or aren't down addressing the cue ball while the clock runs out, it's a time foul.

  • @trumanhw

    I love these guys commentary (mostly). But (nitpicking) ... the beliefs they have..? That the ball knows how quick your backswing was..? That's literally metaphysical. To use an extreme case -- Tommy Kennedy (great game: NASTY stroke). The ball does as it's told. It's PHYSICS. It has no spirituality to it. Yes, smooth, long acceleration is preferred. But there's so much "voodoo" in people's beliefs. And if you slow down the video on people's final stroke, you'll see how massively many players deviate from even their rehearsal strokes. Take Chohan. PHENOMENAL player. He aims with center ball often, and follows throw with side spin. Which you can do (some people call it 'back hand english) so long as the deflection matches your offset. Don't believe me..? Watch when he has to twist a bank back and he's jacked up; PAUSE the video then use the comma and period (on YT) ... it'll move 1 frame at a time. I wish everyone knew that and the other shortcuts I use every time I watch ... like using the < or > to speed up or slow down playback. (basically, shift + comma or shift + period). Or just hit the ? key on youtube to see all the shortcuts.
    Another absolute fallacy..? "Oh he jumped up!" As an explanation for every miss. As if they aren't jumping up from the anxiety of it being a hard shot under massive pressure !?? Or as if a beginner who was absolutely impeccable about staying still would suddenly pocket everything. Really, if that's all it took it'd be a competition of who were the stillest. Again: I think Mark Wilson is the consummate professional. Very articulate, always polite, great analysis of the psychological reaction to pressure (particularly during the HK challenge when describing why Earl engages in some of what we'd call antics). And Jeremy..? ABSOLUTELY a favored 1p commentator. And 1p is what matters ... almost anyone can commentate 9b or 10b. I'm just saying that those beliefs aren't just dubious ... but they're falsifiable.
