That's how technology works. It starts out rudimentary, and evolves.
The rooms in that place look like the kind of rooms I would want to get out of if they were in real life.

1:44 when the main menu is present, you are unable to move. Simply put the menu away.

I am sure you have made an update by now, but I just started building a world for fun, and if you want a coffee shop or any type of building, you can go into the asset store in Horizon and there are thousands of free assets including buildings, bars, clubs, cafes, etc. Pre-made and then you can customize them with everything from pre-made doors, windows, stairs, kitchens, etc. :) Way easier than trying to build with shapes!

watching you stand there, complaining about moving - something just clicked! There needs to be like a footpad pedal thing for one foot that can tilt in any direction, that you stand on. It could be a small pillow-esque thing that you can move your foot on, and depending on where you apply weight to it you move around in that direction - no need for large treadmills.
That's a great idea! It sounds a bit like a smaller Wii balance board
Hopefully we will be able to upload our own worlds soon ( it was already mentioned by Meta that this is coming) . I’m already building stuff in blender.

3D modelling in Autocad and Revit have some great window so does Sketchup. You would think that these would be the easily available here.
Love your content. You're early, but I imagine this could become like metaverse/VR journalism, over time. Potentially more and more interesting stuff to discover as it grows and gets more refined.

I hope for your success do not hope metaverse will be worth that much attention in years to come. I can’t understand why we’ve come so far we are literally willing to strap a biometric monitor to our faces - LITERALLY - connected to Facebook. No offence but anyone who subjects themselves to this deserves what comes later.
@@AL-fl4jk If you worry about a biometric of your face, you cannot go outside of your house. A criminal can get biometrics of your face in 10 seconds after you put your face outside of your house. I trust Facebook, Google, TH-cam, Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft so I've given all of my information to them in exchange for better target ads. Facebook target ads are the best so I'm never bored with them.

@@jaimeponcedeleon6434 Metaverse is just another type of communication or presentation. It's useful in some situations but it's inconvenient in some situations too. The evolution is texts (chat/chatroom) > pictures > audio (call/voice room) > videos (video call/ video conference) > AR/VR (AR/VR call/metaverse). Video call is the best communication right now but we still don't use video call all the time, right? Metaverse is coming anyway whether you put your head in the sand or embrace it.

This reminds me of clunky environment in the early days of Second Life. Second Life still is a little slow.
I expect Meta to make many rapid improvements. They should bring some of the aspects of graphics art from game engines. Maybe the residents could create their own avatars and mesh materials from scratch using 3d graphics software. The sky is the limit. Hire some crazy graphic artists and software engineers and lock them in a room with the meta servers, lol
My God, this metaverse shit looks so cumbersome and downright ridiculous. Where are we? 1995?? Stupid, insanely primitive graphics
You shuld compare Horizon Worlds with other VR games that are actually fun to play.

Needs to be worked on to be immersive
This reminds me of Microsoft paint, something that I used twice in my lifetime. Have better chance of success if they focus on building virtual casinos and strip clubs. 😊
Check out Decentraland for virtual casinos. I think in my Exploring Decentraland video that was the world that had the most users!
They already have VR casinos.
VRChat is so much better. I don't understand why anyone wants to spend any time in this bland world.
I don’t understand why ppl like VR Chat! Why walk around as an inanimate objects? So crazy dumb! Not to mention the number of nasty comments and disrespect! Like .. why?
A talking hamburger? A talking cat? Abomination is what I think of when I went into VR Chat!

I did see a ferret though with a toiler paper roll stuck on its head... worth the cost of admission. :) I prefer the real world but as far as VR goes, VRChat is so much better if anyone wants to spend time in that world. I mainly use it for flight sims and games which is pretty immersive.
@@GH-zo3jr I’ve been trying to find the immersive worlds everyone talks about but can’t find them! There are goo-gobs of worlds but I can’t find the one that grabs my interest!

@@jbradley Deeper exploration of different 'metaverses', including multi-video series on using features like building. Something a la early Minecraft exploration and experimentation. Also in smaller metaverses, or finding weirder ones. Both with and without VR.
