I've watched every episode of FU and Simon is my favorite. His presentations are so elegant. As in design, it takes lots and lots of work and experience to make something appear straight forward, but it's easily recognized when someone sees it.

Absolutely- but especially the trick with the poker chips. Poetry in motion

When I first saw him on FU I felt like when I felt as a kid seeing magic trick. The trick with the poker chip is beautiful. In plain sight chips were apearing and disappearing. Even when I realized after rewatching how it's done it's stil probably my favorite trick on Fool Us. I'm gonna rewatch it right now actually.

Shin Lim performs beautifully, Kostya Kimlat has smooth moves, Vitaly Beckman is a great thinker - but Simon, you are hands down the best magician to ever appear on stage in front of Penn & Teller, bar none.
To do what you do so elegantly, on a bare stage, with just your two hands and the absolute bare minimum props necessary to perform the illusion, takes a certain amount of guts and a hell of a lot of skill that I can only imagine took decades to refine.
The fact that you fooled them so hard the first time that they didn't even realise they'd been fooled was impressive enough, and it's a testament to your character that you took it in such good stride. Fooling them a second time, though - just wow.
I don't know if you have any plans to return to Melbourne to put on a show some day, but I really, really hope you do, because I would absolutely love to see you perform live.

Couldn't agree more with the message. The best tricks, in my opinion, are where we know exactly what has to happen. BUT, either we totally missed it through clever misdirection, or it was so incredibly well executed that even though we know it's possible, it seems impossible.
To slow the video down to 0.25x, to go to the timestamps people point out, and to see the motions doesn't take away from the trick for me. Instead, I am left with my jaw on the floor as I realize just how clever your hands and mind have to be to make it work. Taking a simple motion, something we have all seen and done since we were toddlers folding paper, and manipulating that to be so much more complex... all the while keeping it so natural. I don't know how to express how magical that is, it seems so hard to do, and that is only one motion out of dozens or hundreds you needed to do just as well to make this trick work.
