To me, Teen Titans Go is the Cartoon Network version of Family Guy where everyone likes the random clips taken throughout the show than the actual show itself.
To me, there's been three stages of hate throughout this show's run: 1. Hate because it isn't a follow-up to 2003 Teen Titans 2. Hate because the show is low quality and overly childish 3. Hate because this is just about the one and only thing on Cartoon Network at this point with literally everything else coming and going but TTG still taking up literally almost all of the schedule
I can understand the third point of contention. It’s the same problem Nick has with SpongeBob and (formerly) “The Loud House” cannibalizing the Nickelodeon schedule. Edit: Recently, there isn’t much over saturation of TTG the way it used to be anymore.
Funny part is that, if the show stuck with the writing in the first season and didn't devolve, the hate probably would've stuck to stage one. The first season was lowkey okay. Obviously not topping the OG, but it worked for what it was. The moment the show started getting passive aggressive about the hate it was getting and made it a habit, that was when I personally started to dislike it, CN spamming it on the schedule for days on end also didn't help things.
Yeah their decision caused me to completely stop watching TV. At the time I was only into a few cartoon Network shows so when they made the schedule switch. I gave up and started only watching content through streaming.
@@lianneroban9906 Yeah. I absolutely love animation. Artists put they're all into making such beautiful works. It's sad that animation seems to always be the first thing to go.
I remember being 13 when this show came out, and was still getting used to how to being in online spaces. I remember watching the Mr.Enter video on the waffles and Slade episode and was like "yeah those episode kinda sucked". For the most part, I was indifferent, and at times, liked the show. Like any normal kid, I just watched other shit and didn't care as much. Then I got older and just looked at the show like "wait, it's still airing?" My only real gripe with the show was that it took up like 90% of the airing schedule for the longest time.
I was 7 years old when this show came out in 2013. I remember watching the first few episodes on cartoon network at my Great Grandma's house before she passed away. I was born in January 17th 2006.@captnabel1206
Same here, I remember getting up at ungodly hours just to catch that one episode of steven universe lmao, learned my brother did the same thing back then. (and by ungodly, I mean usually like 3-5am on a school day)
The only thing I hate about it is how the creators themselves teased the OG show coming back only to piss people off, even the people who don’t mind the new TTG.
Yea people seem to forget this VERY importent detail when the DC Nation block was on CN with Green Lantern, Amethyst, and the Teen Titans Shorts. It was a clear bait and switch that Cartoonshi didnt bring up enough. Full "Just put the fries in the bag moment, kinda..
To be honest, I really just don't care to like or dislike Teen Titans Go anymore at this point. It just kinda exists. It does have the occasional good meme every now and then, but seriously why does anyone even bother talking about it to the extents that they do?
Even if you grow out of your hatred over this show not being a sequel to the 03 show, you'll still end up hating it for devouring all airtime and being the bar of whether a CN show is worth keeping around in the eyes of the executives
People still better not hate the executives for this. Listen, they may not have made the best decisions, but if we’re allowed to not hate on the crew, then should the executives.
@@RazerRival The executives are usually the ones that make dumb decisions like this though? The crew just work with the constraints the higher ups give them. They aint the same.
@@ajgameguy3674 Doesn’t matter if they’re not the same; they are in a team making this show, and shows have teams involving these roles. They still should not be hated. Also, when it comes to comments like these, people usually don’t try saying who exactly the executives are or go by a specific name (Like, is it the CEO, or the specific person) and go like, "Oh, it's an executive, they are bad" blah blah. Also, you said, "Executives are usually the ones that make dumb decisions." Kevin Feige and Pete Doctor, who is the Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of Pixar, exist. Oh yeah, James Gunn also exists, who is the Cc-CEO of DC Studios. Now, look at the third word in the term CEO. What do you read? The E in CEO stands for executive. That would classify James Gunn as an executive. So, would that make him one of those making dumb decisions as you and others claim? Lastly, how do we know the executives made dumb decisions? We don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes.
As a fan of the original show, even I have to admit the absolute hate this show has gotten has spiraled out of control. Even if I can understand some of the hate, we all need to chill.
we all do. I know I don't care for it that much considering how empty it feels for me to watch, considering the humor, writing/plot and art style is not for me. But I never EVER send death threats to the creators. But at the same time CN Needed to do a better Job at making sure to promote other shows, even if this is the show that's helping them Make Boatloads of money.
My main gripe has always been that it took over the schedule. That one year where they played nothing but TTG instead of their many Christmas specials on Christmas Day... good lord.
Personally I can agree, it’s like the second worst adaptation overall. With first being velma(shocker), and third being power rangers mega force and super megaforce. Mega force for how it insults one of the most important shows to come from Japan
The series has gone on for so long that parts of the Internet have gaslit themselves into thinking it was always good, or "became good." Haters and critics gave up when they realized no amount of heckling, video essays or social media rants would stop it, and so they gave up.
Perhaps. As someone who did not grow up watching the original “Teen Titans”, I don’t really have a strong attachment, positive or negative, to “Teen Titans Go”. But, as mid as the show might be, I believe there a lot worse shows out there.
@ Oh yeah, the show is mid as fuck, but I think the hate it’s not about its actual quality but about what it represents. It represents mediocrity, decadence; a once great network settling for the minimum. It happened to Nickelodeon with SpongeBob and TLH, and it happened to CN with this
@@NemesisDusk I agree. The complacency and aversion to trying new things and taking risks from these networks is what bothers me more. Even if these shows were good, I don’t think they should dominate the whole cable schedule. I also think it’s a shame that valid criticism of TTG is being overshadowed by or being lumped in with the more unreasonable portions of the Internet wanting to bandwagon on the show.
Although I don't care for TTG, I can see the vision. If they had just stuck to being a superhero parody and had none of the "hating the haters" self aware stuff, I can see the show being at least somewhat better received...but instead, they want to appeal to kids, which means the most lowbrow braindead jokes with some fetish undertones because apparently that's what kids like. It sucks too because I actually liked the movie. It's exactly what I wanted out of TTG. Like I said, I can see the potential the show would've had. If only the team and CN saw it that way as well.
@@Darkparadox64 that too. Because kids apparently don't deserve high quality content that they can actually learn from, for some reason. Anyone that uses the excuse that "it's for kids" is just confirming kids like slop, brainless content.
I remember checking out of TTG after the Slade episode purely because instead of the committing to the idea of the first few episodes where the Titans dealt with somewhat normal things when they weren't crime fighting, they just spend most of the time self-depricating and being meta. Those aren't bad things to have in a show, but with TTG, it feels more like that's the only thing that really have going for in terms of staying relevant instead of it being a genuinely clever element to an already strong series. Outside of the movie I haven't given this series the time or day of my attention for over a decade.
In the same boat. The first couple of episodes were actually enjoyable. But it was when the show started making it a habit to mock how it got so much hate but was still successful that I started noping out of it. Not at all helped by how CN really liked to plaster the show all over the schedule, to the point I started to see other CN shows less and less. Which led to the show getting more hate, which led to the show making itself more obnoxious and meta, which led to more hate, and so on and so forth. It was like a negative feedback loop with no signs of stopping. TTG became CN's Spongebob, and alot of folks were not for that (especially people that were fans of the OG show).
@agamerguy3674 I can kinda respect the hating on the crew's part, and cartoonshi is right that the crew has good reason to make these episodes, tho they got old after a while. (Maybe it has to do with how hating on the show has gotten old and I prefer we just move on?) Anyway yeah the show is like. Whatever. And I haven't seen any episodes in years but it can be pretty funny at times. 🤷♀️
@@QT3.14-w2pfor me the worst episodes are probably the ones nobody remembers cause I remember seeing people's best/worst episode list of TTG back in 2017 and I never really agreed with them I just think it's kinda funny, even the ones that make fun of the viewers the worst thing it can do is have episodes that people are indifferent about
As I’ve gotten older I appreciate the humor of this show a lot more. Even tho a lot of it is cringe and potty humor and even as a kid I thought it was cringe, but there’s also a lot of gems in it
I don’t watch “Teen Titans Go”, but I bet the show is a lot funnier than some “adult” animated shows out there. I’d take TTG over that Daily Wire cartoon, “Mr. Birchum” any day.
I honestly find the humor of the show hits a lot more than it misses. Especially in the earlier seasons, people exaggerate the amount of gross out jokes to the moon and back
@@BirdsandGhibliFan honestly I can see this show doing WAY better as an adult swim show or just an adult animation. Something similar to the Harley Quinn animated show
@@christianaguiare544 regular show is coming back for some reason. I love the show, but the ending was perfect enough that i think it should just end there
my favorite Teen Titans Go! joke is when they made an entire episode about ThunderCats Roar and why it's fine that it exists, then proceeded to strangle its time slot's and got it canned after the first season
@@Y.T.STachi Bill Damaschke, the current head of animation at WB hates Loonatics Unleashed, so the writers were probably just trying to get on his good side (same with Animaniacs (2020))
It's even funnier/sadder when people get mad at ThunderCats Roar for insulting the fandom and making fun of an actor's death; when all of that was TTG.
The weirdest part is that everyone who is working on Teen Titans Go knows what the audience wants. That is an actual sequel to the original show with powerful messages, and yet they refuse to do that. I don't hate TTG btw. The actors seem to have with it.
But what are they even meant to do with that information? Completely change tones and animation styles and everything to continue a series that got abandoned decades prior? Do you really think that's realistic? Do you really think cartoon network would allow that on their most profitable series? Do you really think they would even manage to even partially live up to the expectations of something like that? Like I get wanting a reboot or sequel of the series but wanting TTG to turn into that overnight is just kinda silly
@@MrTherandomguy42on top of the fact that there may be a reason they can’t just pick the series back up. They might not be able to legally do it, as much as they might want to. People can hate the show itself if they want, but at the end of the day, the creators are just doing there job and making a show that many people like, it’s not the creators and staffs fault that ttg got shoved down our throats and took over the schedule.
It's not weird, the writing team is full of petulant freaks who got off on having a show they knew was being forced down everyone's throats that they could do whatever they wanted with. People can say "it's not their faults" but they bragged on Twitter, insulted people in the writing of the shows, the creators were voicing this and making it clear they enjoyed annoying people. Yeah children like the show, children like cocomelon, kids will like what you give them so the creators knew with the backing of CN they could just do whatever.
Who is Teen Titans Go's target audience? Is it for kids? It can't be since they have tons of meta jokes and they activatly berate people who don't like their show. Adults? The characters are mean-sprirted and unlikable. People who hate watch? If the show constantly insults their audience, people won't watch the show. Hating on this show is like beating a dead horse. I think the more the show went on, the more the creators' ego inflated, and they realized that they could do and make the characters say whatever they wanted to do.
Target audience was kids and trust me coming for someone who grew up with the show, it was pretty difficult not to be aware of the hatred this show garnered online 😅 and honestly I think it’s perfectly fine to make fun of the people who take they’re hatred of the show to an extreme level
While i agree, those aren't very good points for TTG not having an audience. That's like saying spongebob isn't for kids because it has some dirty jokes occasionally. sonic boom hits the same notes as TTG but it isn't hated nearly as much. The target audience is whatever the writers feel like writing at the moment, that's why it's so confusing.
I know right? It's fine to appreciate something that you used to not care for, but come on, don't force people to have the same thoughts and opinions as you. It's awfully rude.
Personally, the reason I hate TTG is less about the show itself but the fact it undeniably inspired a lot of the awful cartoon reboots we got in the mid 2010's like Powerpuff Girls 2016 and Thundercats Roar. The show isn't the worst thing ever, but I find that it left a pretty bad stain in the animation world. Heck, one can potentially even make a decent argument that it's massive success and CN milking it had a hand in helping create the current wave of animated revivals and reboots we are experiencing today.
Its hard to believe that instead of animation improving, its actually ended up backsliding into a form that is worse than what came before 2010. Im shocked at some of the amateur garbage that has been created lately which they try to pass off as 'quality'. The 90s had WAY better quality than this horsesh*t.
Regardless of the controversial legacy of TTG throughout the decade, the part where Beast Boy literally sprayed his "milk" right in front of Wonder Woman is truly one of the biggest "AYO!" moments in Cartoon Network history.
"Too much hate towards something can become just as annoying and intolerable as the thing you're making fun of." - PointlessHub talking about The Boys' comic. You can apply this message to internet culture in general.
It's fine if someone dislikes, h*tes, or striaght up not care about Teen Titans go. But the moment you say, "This show ruined my childhood," is an easy way for *people to not take you seriously.*
I also really did enjoy it when I was younger (at least the 1st and 2nd seasons) but the internet manipulated me into hating it for like several years 😭 it was a weird time back then
This show killed Cartoon Network, after this show came out cartoon network made a bunch of half assed reboots like the Ben 10 reboot the Powerpuff Girls reboot and Thundercat Roar
I mean the Ben 10 reboot I liked quite a bit ( of course it as much as any of the other series) but still. The others I’ve barely seen, but I don’t have a strong opinion on them. Their whatever.
Tbh the show is basically and is a spin off comedic version of the OG titans tbh I don't really hate this show it just that as the season got on it became a bit disgusting especially season 5 in my opinion
I never minded Teen Titans Go. Its probably because I didn't grow up with the OG cartoon its based on. So to me, it's whatever and I just watched it when I want background sound or something during my tween years. The only things I actually don't like is how mean they are to each other (but I mean Im pretty sure that kind of humor works for some people so this is probably a personal preference things cuz I personally don't like it) Also, the actual reason that I feel is somewhat valid, there is genuinely really weird fetishy things in this show like the Smile Bones episode and the Lady Leguses episodes. Those episodes genuinely made me super uncomfortable and especially now cuz these characters are minors! What I'm saying is, there is genuine criticisms to say about this show. That isn't just "its cringe", "it ruined my childhood" or whatever.
Same here(I never have seen the og.series until I watch it on the internet and I only remember flash a game on the og.series because of that I didn't mind watching TTG)
While I don't outright hate Teen Titans Go, I hate how it's success affected Cartoon Network. Not just from how they oversaturated it by having it take up most of a day's time slot, but also from how they tried to repeat it's success by taking TTG's cheaper animation and cynical writing and pushing it into other properties such as Powerpuff Girls 2016, Ben 10 2016, and Thundercats Roar. Thankfully all of that slop was rejected by the fans and they all faced cancellation, so while TTG still manages to go on, it's brainrot won't likely spread to any more good shows.
TTG as a show is just so weird, it has the highest highs, the lowest lows, and the middest mids. It's overrall just OK but the inconsistency is what gets me.
At this point, TTG is basically just a zombie show. Better shows have come and gone over its life but TTG just continues to pretty much shuffle around on autopilot
The target audience is irrelevant, the issue is the majority of the writting is insulting to the intelligence of anyone viewing it, shows like this is one of the many reasons why kids are getting dumber with each new generation, if your going to make a show to entertain children, it should at least not give them Brain-Rot!
TTGO was SO hated, it indirectly caused another show to get massive hatred and consequently get cancelled because of fear of it becoming another TTGO...... thundercats roar
I agree there is an overreaction, but I get where it's coming from. . . . all I can say is that it sucks when a show you grew up with, gets turned into key-jangling slop for people under the age of 6, especially when it likely wasn't the vision of the original creator. It's just so uncool to bully a legacy and disregard any potential to create an impactful continuation of a franchise, just to chase maximum financial profit, in my opinion.... But I get it, WB needs even more money. And at least the show improved. The make-a-wish & tax fraud episodes are my favorite for just how far the writers are willing to stray away from what the Teen Titans were known for
Disclaimer - im not even a DC Comics fan person tbh; i just experienced a similar watering-down with my personal favorite show and understand why the overreaction is so unhingefully saturated
The show is like Seinfeld, Garfield, Bojock Horsemen, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The series makes it obvious the main characters aren’t paragons of morality and their antics are for comedy. They make it a point to compare them to superheroes like the Justice League, Young Justice, and the Dc Superhero Girls that these versions of the Titans aren’t meant to be taken as role models.
Personally, when I saw the series the only thing that my eyes just saw is just straight up p0®|\| and not just that but learning that some p€®√$ are on CN studios I was done with that channel
If you want to hate a reboot, there is that 2016 PPG reboot. You know, the one without the original creator. The one with preadators on the writing team. The one made purely to sell cheap toys. The one with a self insert based on a REAL PERSON that is shipped with Blossom. The one with a 4th girl that somehow doesn’t get any toys even thought that could have sold something. The one with this aforementioned 4th girl having large hips for some reason. That one.
I think the biggest problem with TTG currently is that it feels like it doesn't know what it wants to be. It doesn't feel like it's for kids because of how mean-spirited it gets and how much fetishy stuff there is. It doesn't feel like it's for adults because most of it jokes are low brow and childish. It doesn't feel like it's for fans of the original because of how often the writers insult those who hate the show. Like at the start, I can understand wanting to bite back after being sent who knows how many threats, and regardless of your opinion on TTG there is absolutely no excuse for grown adults to threaten someone for working on a show they don't like, but after so many years it's basically become 2 dogs barking at each other through a fence Even as someone who doesn't like TTG personally, there are only so many times before you can hear someone go 'TeEn TiTaNs Go BaD' before it gets exhausting
This might just be me not being terminally online, but publicly admitting a kids show going on for a really long time makes you "rage like hell" is a little unhinged right? Am I weird for thinking that?
I think the reaction to this show wouldn't have been nearly as vitriolic if the original just didn't end with a cliffhanger. That said, even as a kid who watched these types of TH-camrs a lot during the 2010s, I could tell the hate was overblown. I think part of it was the culture surrounding media criticism at the time, where it was more about being entertainingly angry rather than properly critiquing something. TTG just happened to be the most profitable punching bag. I remember Vailskibum of all people was one of the first people to say "dude, chill out. It's not that bad."
Mr. Enter has gotten over his hate for TTG for a while now He admits he still hates some of the episodes he reviewed in the past, but he'd realized he's essentially beating a dead horse if he continues criticizing it
11:0011:24 This right here is why TTG goes so much hate. Fans of the 2003 Titans hating is one thing. But CN scheduling was actively killing every other series they had. So fans of Steven Universe, OK K.O., Adventure Time, Craig of the Creek, etc jumped on the hate train.
I didn’t hate TTG as much as I used to when that show initially came out in the early 2010’s. But they’re far worse reboots out there: Velma, PPG 2016, Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, etc.
Yeah definitely on that PPG 2016 one. I remember as a child when that came out, literally the target demographic of that show and I hated it and didn't like it at all. When it came on I literally wanted to change the channel it was so cringe, terrible, awful, and just straight up annoying. That's in my opinion the worse cartoon reboot that I ever seen in my life personally, because I remember watching the original Powerpuff Girls as a kid still and I remember loving that cartoon, it was my favorite from my childhood, then when they got rid of it and created the new one which I thought was worse in every way... Just no. I hated it so much. There might be more reboots which are inaccurate to the original or might be objectively worser products, but that reboot of Powerpuff Girls was so bad, it genuinely made me unhappy, and making a child unhappy when you're job is to make them laugh and smile is disgraceful imo. I watched modern SpongeBob, Sanjay and Craig, Pig Goat Banana Cricket, Breadwinners, etc and even those shows managed to make me laugh and smile when watching them, even Sanjay and Craig and Breadwinners managed to do that when I found them weird and kinda gross sometimes. That's how much I hated Powerpuff Girls 2016. It was the worst show I probably ever watched at that point in my life.
My issue with Teen Titans Go is not they make fun of the haters, my issue is they don't have an entire episode mocking Cartoon Network for over-scheduling their show. That would make the mockery of fans feel more even handed.
The only reason I really hate TTG is it’s domination of the runtime, like if it just played the same amount as any other cartoon I would give a shit, but the fact it plays almost all the time, means I can’t just click on CN to watch random shows like old times, it’s just “Teen Titans Go all day marathon” “TTG will be here all weekend” “TTG anniversary, TTG all week long”, to the point the only respite was Adult Swim
Honestly, I feel like Teen Titans Go would've gotten NEARLY as much hate if they just changed the designs of the characters and didn't just chibify the original Teen Titans designs.
I think the project would've been damned no matter what because of how the original ended If they gave the og teen titans another movie or something before doing go then like 80% of the hate would've gone away Though it would still be disliked on some level for getting spammed on the schedule like spongebob
I really didn’t care if it was meant to entertain kids, that’s good for them, but my only issue would have to be CN over airing the show constantly, not the problems with the show itself Edit: go check what shows were on CN in 2017 & you’ll see what I mean, (6 shows excluding ttg)
Very heavy on this point. I don't even hate ttg but it's the fact it would take up most of the programming schedule when I used to watch the channel made me grow a little resentment towards it. Like, why couldn't this space go towards new shows that have potential? Those shows won't even get a chance to find their audience before getting kicked off the air after a season or two. Same with nickelodeon and their constant running of spongebob. I just wish there was more consideration put into the channel.
As a fan of the 03 Teen Titans cartoon growing up, my hate towards TTG slowly became indifference. At this point, I don't really care that much about TTG anymore despite CN airing it all the time. I'm not the target audience for it. I will say that I did not expect TTG to have a longer lifespan than the original show.
I grew up on TTG, but I had stopped watching it when I entered middle school and it was honestly so surprising to be babysitting my nephew and finding out the show was still airing in 2022 😭
Fun fact: I discovered this show when it first aired. I was a fan of the original show at the time, and I watched the show to try and get some content to join the TTG Haters cult cause that's what was popular online back then. I watched one episode and fell so in love. For a lil while I tried to deny it but I adore this show. It's become a huge comfort for me although I think after about season 4 or 5 the show kinda lost its charm. The writers very clearly ran out of episode ideas and I can kind of tell the new episodes are just them writing without having to try, which really sucks cause the first few seasons really were the best crap around. I never would have known about this show and how amazing it is if it wasn't for the TTG Haters destroying the internet so there's that at the very least.
My time as a Teen Titans Go! fan was painful... It wasn't the community itself, but being attack by the hatedom. And teenage me did not take that well.
The backlash that TTG got would have been a lot less if it wasn't the ONLY thing that CN airs every single day It's easier to not hate it nowadays cuz you can choose when to watch it, but if you were a kid that didn't have internet or didn't know how to search specific shows and you watched TV a lot, you'd get tired from seeing that the only thing that airs on CN is TTG
I honestly don't really see much hate for it anymore. It just seems to only be brought up when talking about Cartoon Network more broadly or if they have issues with a particular episode. But that just could be my feed.
about the scheduling issue: we never had this much yellow in Poland, but we did have occasional marathons of The Amazing World of Gumball, where that should would be on 24 hours a day, for a few days a schedule with this much TTG does tire my eyes out, it's too damn bright and the show itself is, as you said, mid
I wouldn't mind having a few marathons of the amazing world of gumball tbh with you... Actually now that I think about it I don't think that I have met a single person who genuinely actually hated the amazing world of gumball. I haven't seen a single the amazing world of gumball hater ever, unlike with other shows. I wonder why that is?
It’s really fun going back to the earlier seasons of the show and see how the original premise was “What Superheroes do on their time off.” Compared to how insane it got like 3 years later when they realized meta jokes let them be more creative.
I honestly used to passionately hate Teen titans Go but at some point during my life i stopped caring about it entirely and ever since i gave up on Cable TV i never watched anything about it since the movie
You'd think after 10 years, cartoon obsessed dudes would be over this show but I STILL see random ass dudes in random ass comments on random ass videos that have NOTHING to do with TT or TTG who will just randomly bring up TTG to dunk on/complain about it and it's wild
Thinking about it now Velma is a spin-off since it follows a different formula from the original scooby doo and characyer design aswell as a different theme than the original
What I said in 2013 stands true in 2024: American animation is dead, at least when it comes to the big companies. I can't believe TTG is still on, tbh. I honestly thought it was going to die after season 1.
We lost any chance of getting a teen titans continuation the moment teen titans go came out… that justifies a good amount of hate. The show itself, not bad what so ever. Just a waste of talents
Believe it or not, Teen Titans GO! was my introduction to Teen Titans. While I enjoyed the first season and GO! To the Movies, I have to admit, the show has gone downhill.
I always feel that this shows popularity was a self fulfilling prophecy. By being the ONLY show on the network it becomes their most popular show by default. I have the exact same issue with spongebob.
TTG can be whatever it wants. It's not for me, therefore I don't watch it and let those who DO enjoy it have their own fun. What gets me up in arms is when they don't even bother to veil their own hatred for the OG fans and repeatedly dedicate entire episodes to crapping on the fans and imposing the worst arguments from Terminally Online people onto the normal fans. It got so bad even their crossovers were just a platform to dunk on fans of other shows, most notably the Thundercats crossover where there was even a Skeleton of Panthro in a cave with 2011 Lion-o which was in INCREDIBLY poor taste with the, at the time recent, passing of Panthro's OG Voice Actor.
The only thing I disliked about the show back in the day was how much the writers bragged about it being the most successful show on the platform and that haters had no foundation. Yeah CN played the show 100 times in a day and cut out everything else, of course it was successful. That was 10 years ago now back when you'd check the schedule and it would be a wall of literally nothing but TTG. Nowadays it's better, I guess, the schedule still has three two hour blocks of TTG a day and it looks like there's nothing new on the entire platform anymore. But that was the real reason for the hate, the show could've been good, could've been mid, doesn't matter, of course people were going to hate it when it killed the network's schedules all the while nothing new was given any opportunity to breathe.
As I get close to finishing my Ranking video of Teen Titans Go! I will say it's not the worst show in the world, but it certainly isn't an underrated classic. I think Alpha Jay summarized it best: it wants to be its own thing, be a comedy show and make people laugh, but at the same time it wants to be antagonistic and piss people off. And it makes for a show that for the most time I've watched it very painful, dull and boring to watch.
I'm probably one of the younger Teen Titans fans, being just old enough to have seen a few of the original series episodes, and to have grown up mostly with the new one. So let me say that I am of the opinion that kids deserve to see more emotionally mature content like the original, and less "stupid is funny" stuff like the new one.
“I actually watched go before the og series and thought it was really good, I also think uncle grandpa is a 10/10” I say while currently being burnt at the stake
Unpopular opinion: Uncle Grandpa came out 10 years too late. Had it come out alongside Camp Lazlo and Chowder, people would have eaten it up and praised it as one of the greats of the 2000s.
@@SecretMagicianEhh I think Uncle Grandpa was mid I was 13 when it came out, I enjoyed the first several episodes then it changed artstyle for some reason and became a bit boring I still like the hotdog guy tho I do think the one cartoon that's REALLY unfairly hated is Clarence I came back to that show thinking it's ehh but as an adult, I enjoy it way more and I can say it had pretty good writing
They didn't deserve the death threats but they deserved the hate the moment they started making episodes made to attack the critics and other audiences
Ngl If you hate Teen Titans Go Cartoon Network released a new Teen Titans show called Lone Wolf (Its basically TTG if it was written like Gumball, it's a good watch)
I can’t believe that even after 11 years of airing on Cartoon Network Toddler Titans Go hasn’t been cancelled yet. I much prefer the original 2003 Titans much more.
You took the words right out of mouth when it came to the actual criticism of the show, how it has a lot of potential but just doesn’t lock in nearly as much as it should. I also feel like it became the patient zero that everyone points to when another remake of a classic series that drastically simplifies the artstyle and aims more at younger audiences and say ‘TTG caused this to happen’.
I think the dumbest thing CN and DC has, or hasn’t done, is revive the OG Teen Titans. After the surprising success of X-Men 97, DC should also revive their own cartoon that fans have been begging for 17 years
I never really enjoyed the show, but I also never had the energy to truly hate on it. I realized that it was not meant to be a sequel to the original show, but instead just a parody or more casual show with the same characters, and I'm fine with it, but I do feel like the humor in that show just kinda sucks for the most part, and I've a feeling that it kind of popularized these kinds of kids comedy shows with kind of random stupid humor, which I guess works for children, but you quickly get sick of it. It's obviously not 100% like that, it has some occasional creative moments, but overall it is what it is. At least I'll give it that: the show was like that from the start, and it's pretty self aware about it, and I respect it for that. I much prefer it over shows just gradually changing completely from the original material to the point it's unrecognisable.
Before Teen Titans Go was aired there was a prototype on DC Nation Shorts called New Teen Titans. It was popular and people showed interest in it hoping that it would bring back the original show but instead we got Teen Titans Go. I first tried to give this show a chance but it just left me wanting. I was angry but I distracted myself with other things and now I just don't bother acknowledging it anymore except the rare times it had interesting content or jokes.
I don't think it's just teen titans fans, I think it's more Cartoon Network fans if you ask me.... Teen Titans GO came around at the end of a golden age of Cartton Network shows (if I remember anyway) but there was a LOT of good CN shows over time and then they stopped making good shows and started making less and less and CN became 50%+ Teen Titans GO reruns and that made a lot more people mad about it than anything else because the show will not die
Teen Titans Go taught me how to commit tax fraud at 8 years old, 10/10

Which is ironic because family guy is returning to Cartoon Network
@@kongboy4585 Actually it's adult swim

Yeah, now that you mention it....
Wait that's so real
To me, there's been three stages of hate throughout this show's run:
1. Hate because it isn't a follow-up to 2003 Teen Titans
2. Hate because the show is low quality and overly childish
3. Hate because this is just about the one and only thing on Cartoon Network at this point with literally everything else coming and going but TTG still taking up literally almost all of the schedule
OK, so I’m not the only one who’s kind confused by the fact that teen titans go has a habit of cannibalizing the Cartoon Network schedule?
I actually like the show-
I can understand the third point of contention. It’s the same problem Nick has with SpongeBob and (formerly) “The Loud House” cannibalizing the Nickelodeon schedule.
Edit: Recently, there isn’t much over saturation of TTG the way it used to be anymore.
Yeah, why is it that the CN execs are only sucking up to this one?
Funny part is that, if the show stuck with the writing in the first season and didn't devolve, the hate probably would've stuck to stage one.
The first season was lowkey okay. Obviously not topping the OG, but it worked for what it was. The moment the show started getting passive aggressive about the hate it was getting and made it a habit, that was when I personally started to dislike it, CN spamming it on the schedule for days on end also didn't help things.
I dislike it because its become CN’s spongebob. It had consumed the schedule to the point where for any new shows the reruns air during school hours
Yeah their decision caused me to completely stop watching TV. At the time I was only into a few cartoon Network shows so when they made the schedule switch. I gave up and started only watching content through streaming.

Even if you grow out of your hatred over this show not being a sequel to the 03 show, you'll still end up hating it for devouring all airtime and being the bar of whether a CN show is worth keeping around in the eyes of the executives
I'm lowkey still sad that Mao Mao got taken out back after its first season. Loved that show.

Hello there!
@CaramelSkull78 Thank you. I may not care much for TTG. But it's hardly worth the visceral hate its gotten. "Worst show ever?" Not even close.
My main gripe has always been that it took over the schedule. That one year where they played nothing but TTG instead of their many Christmas specials on Christmas Day... good lord.
That was my main gripe too, and once they fixed that, there wasn’t a need to hate it anymore objectively.
once again, that's not TTG's fault, it's Cartoon Network's really bad airing plan at that time.
It ain't the worst thing ever but it isn't particularly good either. Teen Titans Go is just... There.
It does have its moments, I'll give it that.
Personally I can agree, it’s like the second worst adaptation overall. With first being velma(shocker), and third being power rangers mega force and super megaforce. Mega force for how it insults one of the most important shows to come from Japan
Like that font episode with comic sans and papayrus and WD as an undertale fan that so funny ironically
The night Begin to shine exists
@skytheemperor The *ONLY* good thing about this series
@skytheemperor while the show may have had a few good moments. Those don’t outweigh the bad unfortunately.
@@NemesisDuskIt was definitely about people hating the show but it got way too ridiculous.
Like the “Ban Sniper Wolf” thing on TH-cam.
Yeah i remember actually liking the movie quite a bit, but whenever I’d try to see what the show was about, I’d question my existence.
Being for kids it's the biggest excuse in Hollywood too
@@Darkparadox64 that too.
@agamerguy3674
I can kinda respect the hating on the crew's part, and cartoonshi is right that the crew has good reason to make these episodes, tho they got old after a while. (Maybe it has to do with how hating on the show has gotten old and I prefer we just move on?)

Whoever watches it that happens to enjoy it I assume.
Target audience was kids and trust me coming for someone who grew up with the show, it was pretty difficult not to be aware of the hatred this show garnered online 😅 and honestly I think it’s perfectly fine to make fun of the people who take they’re hatred of the show to an extreme level
Well put.
I liked this show as a kid so yeah thats probably the target audience
While i agree, those aren't very good points for TTG not having an audience. That's like saying spongebob isn't for kids because it has some dirty jokes occasionally. sonic boom hits the same notes as TTG but it isn't hated nearly as much. The target audience is whatever the writers feel like writing at the moment, that's why it's so confusing.
Watching people on twitter clip TTG episodes and say people have no right to dislike or hate it is ridiculous.

The one with a self insert based on a REAL PERSON that is shipped with Blossom. The one with a 4th girl that somehow doesn’t get any toys even thought that could have sold something. The one with this aforementioned 4th girl having large hips for some reason. That one.
@Cubeytheawesome or the Ben 10 reboot or whatever that god awful Scooby Doo reboot was (not Velma, the one that was on CN)
@CubeytheawesomeWhy are you thinking about the little girl's hips bro.
(Joking, I haven't even watched that one, how much worse does it get?)
@@gamingdragonofmordor3770 be cool Scooby doo?
@@gamingdragonofmordor3770those reboots were also years ago it's time to move on
I think the biggest problem with TTG currently is that it feels like it doesn't know what it wants to be. It doesn't feel like it's for kids because of how mean-spirited it gets and how much fetishy stuff there is. It doesn't feel like it's for adults because most of it jokes are low brow and childish. It doesn't feel like it's for fans of the original because of how often the writers insult those who hate the show. Like at the start, I can understand wanting to bite back after being sent who knows how many threats, and regardless of your opinion on TTG there is absolutely no excuse for grown adults to threaten someone for working on a show they don't like, but after so many years it's basically become 2 dogs barking at each other through a fence
Even as someone who doesn't like TTG personally, there are only so many times before you can hear someone go 'TeEn TiTaNs Go BaD' before it gets exhausting
The fact it has more seasons than the original is just...wow.
Pretty sure this is cartoon network's longest running thing ever. Pretty crazy to think about.
@@estoystrandom5998Yeah it even beat Ed Edd and Eddy which previously held that record.
The fact TTG is technically Cartoon Network's longest-running show just makes me rage like hell.
This might just be me not being terminally online, but publicly admitting a kids show going on for a really long time makes you "rage like hell" is a little unhinged right? Am I weird for thinking that?
@@Cartoonshi I agree.
Get over it.
Teen titans go taught me how to avoid paying taxes
Teen Titans Go taught me how to Melt Pennies for profit.
Yoshi would be proud 💀
Not even Kendrick's hate could compare to Mr.Enter's utter dismay over Teen Titans Go
Homie, he made a handful of videos in something where he reviews usually episodes not whole series and hasn't talked about in years. Let the meme go.
@@DOCTORKHANblog Agreed; Mr. Enter already realized that he'd be beating a dead horse if he continued.
Bro, his beef with TTG isn't even like...top 3 Mr enter beef
Mr. Enter has gotten over his hate for TTG for a while now
He admits he still hates some of the episodes he reviewed in the past, but he'd realized he's essentially beating a dead horse if he continues criticizing it
11:00 11:24 This right here is why TTG goes so much hate. Fans of the 2003 Titans hating is one thing. But CN scheduling was actively killing every other series they had. So fans of Steven Universe, OK K.O., Adventure Time, Craig of the Creek, etc jumped on the hate train.
Yeah, I guess that was what led them to jump on the TTG hate bandwagon as well
I didn’t hate TTG as much as I used to when that show initially came out in the early 2010’s.
At this point, CN is the Teen Titans Go! show.
*Network
Just like Nick.
(Outdated comment that should be in 2017)
The only reason I really hate TTG is it’s domination of the runtime, like if it just played the same amount as any other cartoon I would give a shit, but the fact it plays almost all the time, means I can’t just click on CN to watch random shows like old times, it’s just “Teen Titans Go all day marathon” “TTG will be here all weekend” “TTG anniversary, TTG all week long”, to the point the only respite was Adult Swim
Side note: the Night Begins To Shine mini series was peak TTG and will die on this hill
I really don’t like this show for many reasons but the fact that this show got better treatment than transformers and Ninjago makes me angry.
And lasted longer with no end in sight
Honestly, I feel like Teen Titans Go would've gotten NEARLY as much hate if they just changed the designs of the characters and didn't just chibify the original Teen Titans designs.
I think the project would've been damned no matter what because of how the original ended
If they gave the og teen titans another movie or something before doing go then like 80% of the hate would've gone away
Though it would still be disliked on some level for getting spammed on the schedule like spongebob
Thank You! If they don’t want us why do they have to be such copycats?
EVERYONE HATES TEEN TITANS GO *EXCEPT ME*
I like it too
I really didn’t care if it was meant to entertain kids, that’s good for them, but my only issue would have to be CN over airing the show constantly, not the problems with the show itself
Edit: go check what shows were on CN in 2017 & you’ll see what I mean, (6 shows excluding ttg)
I’m pretty sure the schedule programming has been more diverse in recent years but I do agree that it was getting way more airtime back in the day.
Same thing with how SpongeBob used to be played all the time on Nick, but it’s a lot more diverse now.
Look I only hated TTG because it was on 24/7, even 8 year old me got tired of it
I grew up on TTG, but I had stopped watching it when I entered middle school and it was honestly so surprising to be babysitting my nephew and finding out the show was still airing in 2022 😭
Fun fact:
I discovered this show when it first aired.
This show will go from fart jokes straight to telling kids how to avoid taxes
My time as a Teen Titans Go! fan was painful... It wasn't the community itself, but being attack by the hatedom. And teenage me did not take that well.
That intro really says it all doesn't it?
Edit: How the hell did I get this much likes. Thanks guys!

The backlash that TTG got would have been a lot less if it wasn't the ONLY thing that CN airs every single day
It's easier to not hate it nowadays cuz you can choose when to watch it, but if you were a kid that didn't have internet or didn't know how to search specific shows and you watched TV a lot, you'd get tired from seeing that the only thing that airs on CN is TTG
I honestly don't really see much hate for it anymore. It just seems to only be brought up when talking about Cartoon Network more broadly or if they have issues with a particular episode. But that just could be my feed.
My hate has been redirected towards the cancelation of maomao. That's one thing I'm never gonna let go
PREACH. ANOTHER MAO MAO FAN IN THE WILD
about the scheduling issue: we never had this much yellow in Poland, but we did have occasional marathons of The Amazing World of Gumball, where that should would be on 24 hours a day, for a few days
a schedule with this much TTG does tire my eyes out, it's too damn bright and the show itself is, as you said, mid
It’s really fun going back to the earlier seasons of the show and see how the original premise was “What Superheroes do on their time off.”
Compared to how insane it got like 3 years later when they realized meta jokes let them be more creative.
Personally I can’t stand meta humor, it’s very exclusive
I honestly used to passionately hate Teen titans Go but at some point during my life i stopped caring about it entirely and ever since i gave up on Cable TV i never watched anything about it since the movie
You'd think after 10 years, cartoon obsessed dudes would be over this show but I STILL see random ass dudes in random ass comments on random ass videos that have NOTHING to do with TT or TTG who will just randomly bring up TTG to dunk on/complain about it and it's wild
people who call teen titans go a reboot had forgotten the word spin-off
So I guess that makes Velma a Spin-off?
@@christianaguiare544 I actually don't know, what do you think?
Thinking about it now Velma is a spin-off since it follows a different formula from the original scooby doo and characyer design aswell as a different theme than the original
I would have preferred a deep dive into Arthur Christmas but this will suffice
be the chance you want to see in the world
What I said in 2013 stands true in 2024: American animation is dead, at least when it comes to the big companies.
Same, that’s exactly the reason why I despise its existence, it’s completely unnecessary and has no plot whatsoever
Teen titans go?
Teen titans go where?
Can’t believe this show aired for almost 12 years. Black ops 2 was the latest cod around this time ☠️
The only thing I disliked about the show back in the day was how much the writers bragged about it being the most successful show on the platform and that haters had no foundation.
2:12 gave me ptsd flashbacks to when that one spongebob episode showed up
I'm probably one of the younger Teen Titans fans, being just old enough to have seen a few of the original series episodes, and to have grown up mostly with the new one. So let me say that I am of the opinion that kids deserve to see more emotionally mature content like the original, and less "stupid is funny" stuff like the new one.
“I actually watched go before the og series and thought it was really good, I also think uncle grandpa is a 10/10”
I say while currently being burnt at the stake
Unpopular opinion: Uncle Grandpa came out 10 years too late. Had it come out alongside Camp Lazlo and Chowder, people would have eaten it up and praised it as one of the greats of the 2000s.
@@SecretMagicianI wholly agree , I actually enjoyed UG, it felt like a return to form, bringing back some of the classic humor of the 2000s
@@SecretMagicianEhh I think Uncle Grandpa was mid
I was 13 when it came out, I enjoyed the first several episodes
then it changed artstyle for some reason and became a bit boring
I still like the hotdog guy tho
I do think the one cartoon that's REALLY unfairly hated is Clarence
I came back to that show thinking it's ehh but as an adult, I enjoy it way more and I can say it had pretty good writing
@@SecretMagician Uncle Grandpa is the equivalent to a hair band releasing an album from 1991 - 1993. Actual worst timing.

Whenever I see Teen Titans Go hate still, I think of Mr. O Hare from The Lorax saying, "Let it die let it die! Let it shribble up and die!"
My thoughts exactly, they can’t keep this mindless slop up forever
Yeah, I didn’t like Teen Titans go very much. But I can admit it had its moments. And the team behind it did not deserve the death threats they got.
Common sense detected. Thank you.
They didn't deserve the death threats but they deserved the hate the moment they started making episodes made to attack the critics and other audiences
@@Drums_of_Liberation Bro, it's been 4 days. Move on.
Ngl If you hate Teen Titans Go Cartoon Network released a new Teen Titans show called Lone Wolf (Its basically TTG if it was written like Gumball, it's a good watch)
Eleven years of hate? TTG users are nothing compared to how much SMG users hate thier special interest. No one is.

After the surprising success of X-Men 97, DC should also revive their own cartoon that fans have been begging for 17 years
It’s already too late for that and besides X-Men in general is more popular than teen Titans
Security system takes control of squidward's house😂
Ngl, the "the night begins to shine" saga is the best part of TTG
Agreed
I don't think TTG is the worst thing ever.
I don't hate it but I certainly don't love it.
The songs BANG though.
Though most of these people have just moved on to watching indie cartoons
