Hey Guys, this episode was a kinda whiplash experience. Having scientists onboard explaining the environment you're all diving in is a great idea! That Jake Roper character, though, was a bit strange. It felt like he was talking to eight-year-olds. Also, having someone else filming (I know it helps a lot to get the shots) looks completely foreign from the normal, very personal, footage we usually experience. We (it's likely most would agree) feel like you've invited us to come along on your journey for twenty minutes at a time. This felt staged, not at all natural. Perhaps it's the difference between home-grown film makers and Rhett and Brien being involved. You definitely could have Cristina Zenato, Lashanti Jupp or others on board for a few days at a time - you don't even have to interview them, they'd simply comment on the things you're seeing and experiencing. I would be like a regular episode, but with bonus info!
Disagree. sometimes you get offered opportunities to branch out and connect with other creators, can be especially hard to do when youre one of those channels on the outskirts of mainstream youtube. and the only way to make mainstream youtube look more like what you described above is to break into that circle and share experiences and kinda let your ego/way of doing things go. Break bread with others and all that. Esp if they (Riley and Elayna) trusted the idea enough to agree and get involved, means a lot cause i know how much they think thru the things they choose to pursue. also sometimes you make things for family/friends and sometimes you make things for work or make things for new friends or opportunities, those things are rarely the same. imagine showing a powerpoint presentation to your family for their christmas present. :P Or bringing a hand-made gift of love to a business meeting! actually that would probably work out but yknow what i mean An especially small change when compared to the impact/help of the project it represents aswell ! Anyway all love, was just surprised how strongly it seemed you felt, wanted to share my perspective.
Honestly, this was a big diversion from your typical episodes, and it's kinda refreshing. Felt a little scripted, but so does Top Gear, and look how well that turned out. I love this.
