I think it's now because the transcripts have been seen. This wasn't young girls trying to be grown up, it wasn't just sex, those girls were literally tortured physically and mentally. We didn't know any of the depravity, but Starmer did.
I think putting TR in prison gave the media stories and people naturally looked deeper. Many have been internally fuming for decades waiting for a resolution.

There has been a national inquiry, but I believe it was rather restricted in what it could inquire about.
