Thank you for being with me as I start my Sunday morning- I enjoyed the experience of your gardens and your beautiful harvest ! And these wonderful vegetables inspired me to add a little beetroot to my plate! I share your passion for fresh produce! Thank you again and again!
You are so welcome Zen Mom x
I love nothing more than walking thru a market, buying fresh fruits & vegetables. I felt like I was right there with you. So enjoyable, Thank you so much!!
Oh how I wish we had markets like this where I live in the states. So beautiful, the veggies, bread, cheese and the people
❤️
This has to be my favorite video, thank you so much Marie Anne. I enjoyed every moment of this video, the market, the beautiful vegetables, and of course hearing you. Very inspiring. I loved the tomatoes and radishes, and I’m definitely going to watch your video on how to prepare vinaigrette dressing. Thank you so much from NYC ❤️
I am glads you enjoyed it Limor xx
Yes agree. This was fun to see the market in France. Delicious.
That is the perfect meal.❤️
Great food, enjoy. I love it
Bonjour Marie-Anne! 💜💜💜
Bonjour Gabriela xx
I'm Scottish and love the fact I can shop at farm shops or farmers markets. I adore cooking and while not a chef my two brothers, son, uncle and now granddaughter are so have been lucky to be shown many * tricks* of the trade i make all my own breads and loved the look of your bread so much i researched the name locally and found the recipe it's outstanding and the lost lasted 10 days too so thank you for the inspiration.
It's the same here in Poland for the most part. People are used to eating meals with veggies. and in the summer - omg, you have so many options for fruits and vegetables. Some of my favourites are sweet cherries, peaches and nectarines, different types of plums, broadbeans, yellow beans, zuccini, peppers, pumpkins. And of course tomatoes, onions and garlic. I love salads, soups and veggie stews. Raddishes are for snacking. And I used to use beetroots in juices, now, from time to time, I make my own beetroot kvass. And bread in Poland is lovely as well. You cannot go wrong with fresh food, it's delicious. Cheers Marie Anne. I'm sure Your new channel will be very interesting and inspiring for me. Bisous ❤
I hope you will keep watching zuzzzap - it will really come together when we get to our new house next year xx
@@frenchfoodfrenchhome I sure will. Bisous Madame Lecour ❣❤

This whole episode has been so enjoyable. Thanks Marie Anne for taking us on such a beautiful trip to farmers market and then preparing such mouth watering salads 😋.
I am glad you enjoyed it Maliha xx
Marie Anne, I love you and your videos! I wish I lived nearby. Your life style and farm are both beautiful. I thank you for these simple but wonderful recipes. So healthy and good. And I also love your fashion TH-cam videos. You help my life, here in America (Northern New York State - Farm country) to be lovely! ❤🥰
I watched this two times. You made my mouth water. I live in a very small town in Texas USA there is no farmers market here. Thank you for sharing this. I love your new dishes.
I can't wait to visit France next year and go to a market like this. We had friends over for dinner this weekend and I made a lovely fresh salad, with beetroot that I roasted, homemade French Vinaigrette (a la Marie-Anne),and everyone enjoyed very much. Merci Marie-Anne, Martine xx
Radish leaves are also very nutritious. They are loaded with lots of nutrients. I buy them from Carrfour all the time. You are lucky to have farmers that selling organic products. Let food be they medicine, then let medicine be they food. Nice video...🥰
What beautiful produce you bought! I would cut up the beets and add them to that beautiful lettuce with a homemade vinaigrette for a salad. I'm very lucky to live where I do. I'm in Northern NJ right on the border of New York State and it's very easy to shop locally here. We have plenty of orchards, pick-your-own farms, local cheeses, butter, honey, maple syrup, fresh breads, jams, great butchers, and we even have plenty of wineries, breweries, distilleries, cideries....and quite a few othere goods. So there's no excuse not to eat well around here. Everything you bought at that market looked so beautiful and delicious! Thank you for the great tips as well! 💕
Belle laitue croquante! 😋
Marie Anne, this video was so fun! It was a joy to feel like I was accompaning you as you were shopping. I love to watch anyone having a nice time going about their daily life.
Also, I am left-handed, too! 👍
Take care, and I hope you and your husband have been enjoying the food from this video. ❤
Yayyy for lefthanders Jen 🙌

Bonjour and hello to everyone 🛎📮📚💖🔟🟣🟪🟩🟠♥️🔱⚜️🦩🐱🐹👒
Hello Marie-Anne,
I am so jealous of those cooked beets, and that beautiful bread! I have never seen such pretty radishes. I would just dip them in salt and eat as they are. I am inspired to do some meal prep for the week now. Thank you for sharing!
Your passion for food is as evident as your passion for style. This video reminded me of my grandmother's farm when we would be told to go pick supper. I am a fan of beets as well - beets and carrots served together - but my favourite was beets greens with a little vinegar. It used to annoy my mother that I would eat carrots right from the garden - just knock of the dirt and throw the greens to the cows - it made me very popular with the cows. Thank you for this delightful video.
What a delightful story Sandy - I may start sharing my little stories of helping my parents with their vegetables when I was growing up 🤗
I am putting away our gorgous haul of fresh fruit and vegetables from our local Farmers Market here in Chicago, IL. We prepare our radishes the same way you did, my husband eats them raw. You have gotten me more excited about my meal prep today.💜✌
That is wonderful Yvette - I get so excited by fresh food 🤗
That dark bread looks delicious!
Cooked fresh beets! Wish I could buy those.
I moved back to Canada a year ago after living in Germany for over 40 years. Seeing this video reminded me again of how much I miss the fresh food markets and the quality of food in general that you can get there. Thank you for this inspiring video and for its simplicity.
I am so glad it brought back god memories Marilyn ❤️
I love 💕 farmers markets! Being from California we have fresh produce all year long from California & Mexico. We love to grow cherry tomatoes in the summer. We have Egyptian mosquitos so I don’t want to grow more this year. I have rosemary & lemon thyme I use constantly as well as parsley. We had the best “French” almond croissant in Charleston & my son learned how to make them for us! So much work! I will look forward to more videos! OX🍾
Nice market
Snacking on cherry tomatoes is the best!
😃👍
Oh my God marie anne , i wish thst i were there with you buying allthat yummy 😋 vegetables and bread.😊💝
🤗
Thank you 🙏 ❤
Beetroot and goat’s cheese are a favourite combination for me in a salad.
I was glued to this video! Oh I loved it so much! The colours of the food were stunning and the bread !!! Oh so delicious
That market looks amazing! I can't wait to see your garden at your house.
I too love beets, I drink the juice to from the jar.
😋
I’m not sure how wide spread this is in America, but at least in PA we love to have hard boiled eggs and sliced beet’s together in vinegar and sugar. (Pickled eggs and beets.) My family loves them! I’m truly envious of the bread though! I’ve never seen any like it here.
Looks scrumptious, no cooking involved, natural, fresh ,healthy eating, love it,❤ from Frances UK
I absolutely loved how happy and giddy you were over your wonderful finds at the market. It was so enjoyable being taken along with you to shop. It brought back so many memories for me. My grandpa was a wonderful gardener of both vegetables and flowers. As a little girl, I would join him in his garden to pick tomatoes . He always carried a salt shaker in his pocket, and we would pluck a sun warmed tomato off of the vine, and sprinkle salt on it, and eat completely fresh. Oh the taste, and the smell.....it was glorious! Thank you again. Loved your video.
The tales I could tell of growing vegetables with my father Lori - I have in fact written a lot of them down for a book but never got around to finishing it xx
@@frenchfoodfrenchhome That sounds like a book that you definitely need to get published. A book that I would certainly buy and read. :)
Oh, that bread looked MAGNIFICENT!
Marianne thank you for a wonderful video. I just got from back from France, Nice to be precise about a week and a half ago. I adore the French culture, the French food and how lovely everyone was on my visit. I will be returning often as my son is now working in Villefranche. I am so excited!
I hope you get back soon Rose 😃
Thank you for a wonderful video, spot on❣️
Mashallah!
🤗
Good to see you using your soupier
So happy!🥰
I love seeing your local market. Those vegetables look delicious!
Love your enthusiasm for food.🎉
Nice sharing of food market and salads. Everything looks so fresh and colourful 👍
Oh you are using your antique china bowl for the salad. It looks so lovely. I love your vinaigrette. You are very good at chopping and you have a sharp knife which is so important. The beets were beautiful but we have to roast the beets or boil them ourselves . There is nothing more delicious than a beet salad. I boil the new potatoes and let them remain at room temperature. I sauté the shallots in a little olive oil with salt and pepper. Then a rub a clove of garlic all over the inside of a bowl ( then I remove the garlic) and place the potatoes and shallots in the bowl. The bread looks fantastic, I would chose to have the radishes with some crackers and a nice glass of wine before dinner. Loved your video. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
The bowl looks so pretty Karen merci 😘
I saw this video last night; you inspired me. Today my husband said he wanted tomato soup , but there weren’t any cans of tomato soup. However, he had been harvested quarts of his sweet cherry tomatoes that we had been popping in our mouths for a treat, but they had been building up. So I made him a fresh garden tomato soup using our herbs of thyme and basil that I harvested while I was sautéing onions and garlic. The soup was so silky, sweet, and delicious. Thank you, Marie-Anne, for the inspiration.
As for radishes, I either pop them in my mouth or put them in a salad with lettuce and lots of other veggies. I have made crudités with a dip and/or cheeses since 1971 when I first learned about them. I love them!
That sounds so delicious Victoria 👏
I love shopping at farmers/outdoor markets. You get fresh produce usually cheaper than at the supermarket. The salad looks so good.
My mouth is watering and I have eaten……..I would have a little cultured butter with that bread….unsalted.
that bread looks so delicious Marie Anne!
It was Lucja xx
I can't wait to go food shopping with you.
😃
I am a vegan, so, what you have bought is great for me
We love beets. By the way, in the U.S. we just call them beets as opposed to many other places they are called beetroot.
Thank you so much for this video.
We are very lucky enough to have a second home in France. Due to Mum and Dad passing and myself getting cancer….. on my recovery we bought a little home in the MIDI PYRÉNÉES. We have had our home there for 13 years. I am enjoying your salad prep.
I love everything French. Xx
Oh I forgot to tell you, I have following your fashion Videos.
Très chic. 🥂🍾
I wish you a speedy recovery Maggie. I am sure the mountain air will be so very good for you 🤗
So fresh!!
You have made me so hungry!
It was amazing to watch you being so appreciative of all that produce. The way you handle each item with care and love was just beautiful. Its if you were thanking each and every produce for their beauty and nutrients. Great video!!
Merci Marina xx
Marie-Anne, I enjoy these life style videos and this is one of my favorites. I love green salads and prepare often shopping only local. In my kitchen, no meal is complete without a salad. I use thinly sliced Easter radishes, green onion, tiny orange grape tomatoes with little gems or butter lettuce like you purchased. I sometimes add arugula when in season. I prepare my own dressing of crushed garlic, California olive oil and sherry vinegar, salt and pepper. Mushrooms are a staple with so much flavor. I saute and incorporate them into rice, pasta and salads too. At least once a week I prepare a roasted potato, bell pepper and shallot frittata. That fresh bread is heavenly. What's not to love!
Merci Christine and for sharing your lovely salad recipe xx
I loved it! Some people may not understand your joy over these vegetables but it is wonderful for me to watch. Your market has a great selection and so fresh. I marvel at my veggies as well - they are amazingly beautiful and how fortunate we are to have such an abundance. Your array of salads is exactly all the ones I love too and especially the beetroot.
I loved this video! I saw it last month. I went and purchased similar items as I’m passionate over fresh produce too. I purchased the beets which I love and haven’t had these in a long while. I cleaned, boiled, and peeled the beets and had it ready for all our salads. My husband doesn’t like them as much so I thought, great, more for me. This time I added the beet leaves to my salads too. I had so much that I also ate a piece of beet daily as I couldn’t get enough! Then I thought I was dying as I didn’t realize its harmless effect from its red stain 💩 After a call to my doctor who had me book an appointment to check me out, (although I just had my annual physical), my husband reminded me of the beets. Sure enough I took a break from it and all cleared up 😁 Thankfully I cancelled my doctor appointment a week before and apologized. 😅 Can’t wait to have my beets again but with a little more self control this time.
They can cause a nasty shock if you don't remember Mariella - glad all is okay
Look at that lovely produce. Over here our produce is bombarded with so many chemicals. You can go organic but there r not many organic food stores around. So sadly when I cook, I wish this country was part of the slow food movement. Enjoy your lovely veggies and salads!!! 🤗🤗🤗 Cheers Bev and thankyou Marie-anne for showing us the market..
Try to find small local growers at small markets Bev xx
@@frenchfoodfrenchhomeI agree. Small markets are the best . I live in US, and fortunately I live near many farms, so starting in summer through to autumn there are farm markets everywhere. They have everything- fruits , veggies, honey, fresh herbs, even bread etc. We also have farms that you can go to and pick your own berries, apples, pears, peaches right from the bushes or trees.
Enjoyed this video so much!! That bread…what can I say? I would have that with homemade vegetable soup. The best from 🇨🇦
That would be delicious Anita x
Oh MarieAnne ... I feel a bit tearful watching this as I miss France so much and coming to see you and Carl. So many happy memories at the open air markets. So much wonderful delicious fresh produce. You are the real deal my darling. Miss you both so much! Also miss your great cooking and Lady Aga! Hope to see you as soon as we can get back across La Manche. Xxx
Hope to see you soon Tammy 🤗
Your video was really fun and inspirational today. I had just finished studying French vocabulary for class and saw your email announcement. Watching was a great learning experience. The French market segment was a lesson in French and in shopping for fresh food. I am taking a French online cooking class, which I love, but I am at a loss to create "le dejeuner" for me. The preparation is a lot of work. I can't wait to continue watch to the end of this video to see where it leads me.
I like to make grilled cherry tomatoes and gratin pommes de terre.
I will try to get more French conversation in the videos for you Denise xx
I love thyme also. Xx
It has such a delicate flavour Bev x
I love your farmer’s market. Such beautiful fresh produce! And that bread!!! Oh my! I want to be there and have lunch with you!!! Thanks for sharing your amazing lifestyle!
I take my 4 year old niece with me to our farmer’s markets here in the US. I want her to learn about and appreciate fresh produce.
That is wonderful Jena xx
My absolute favorite thing is to shop for and cook fresh produce. Thank you for this video!
Dear Marie Ann, until today I only followed yours style videos. Today my bread is already in the oven! With European backgrounds, so hard to find a good bread in US, baking my own it's only my option. Plus delicious salad, you make my day Marie Ann, thank you so much. Ladies in US, Costco sells affordable organic cooked roasted beet.
So glad you made it here Teodora your bread sounds delicious xx
Oh so envious! I wish we had markets like yours in our area.
Hello Marianne. I would make a salad with the lettuce, tomatos and salad onions(we call them spring onions) with homemade vinaigrette which consists of olive oil and apple cider vinegar. The radishes I would snack on perhaps with a little salt or plain. The mushrooms I would add to a sauce(spagetti) or chicken dinner. The beets I would cook them in butter and lemon. Oo la la, I am hungry! coming to you from Virginia.
😃
it looks so delicious!!
Il vous faut absolument continuer ces vidéos! Elles sont si bonnes...Grüße aus Hamburg
Loved this. Beautifully done ❤️
We have our own summer garden. Wishing we could find other fresh garden vegetables nearby year round - limited gardeners where I live.
Spotted a lttle dog a bit like mine, took me ages to pause and find to show my other half😂 Love your foodie videos.
Merci for this super vlog
Absolutely beautiful fresh produce. Sautéed mushrooms with a little butter, garlic and shallots on some of that lovely bread toasted.
Roast up the beetroot with some balsamic vinegar to add with salad.
The potatoes I would boil and serve warm in olive oil, dijon mustard and lemon dressing.
I would also make mushroom omelette. I would have also picked up some of those gorgeous haricot verte from the market too :) I really enjoyed this video merci Marie Anne x
I am glad you enjoyed it Laura xx
This was awesome!! Beetroot Queen!! You are so passionate with your love of fresh vegetables!! I love shallots and beetroot too. Really enjoyed this!! Thank you!!
What a fun video! Thank you, Marie-Anne. Our first stop when traveling is the farmer’s market. I adore the radishes-they are called Easter radishes here. I serve them with French butter and salt. I'd sauté the shallots and mushrooms with butter, a dash of cream and white wine, then add fresh thyme. The bread would never have made it home, frankly. So I’d have to go back to the market for the other half. 😉 The lettuce would be the perfect salad with the radishes, too. I would roast the tomatoes with olive oil, salt and pepper at the end, and have them over goat cheese crostini with fresh chopped basil. Champagne anyone? 🥂
Newbie here😊😊
Keep safe and enjoy
Bonjour Ruby 👋thank you for joining us xx
Continue: getting back to the beets, I may add vinegar. The bread I would slice and add plenty of butter and devour. I want to move thg o France for your fabulous fresh bread, add cheese and an ocassional glass of wine. 🙋♀️
The wine is necessary Deborah 🍷😘
Shared on my FB page. What fun!
Thank you so much Ingrid a share is so very helpful - merci beaucoup 🤗
This is a very enticing video...the color, the fresh produce and that bread! This makes me want to get my garden going although I will have to wait until May to do so. I am fortunate to have a very good fresh market near me that I shop at. But in the summer I eat from my own garden. I love to bake and that bread looks fabulous. I enjoy beets to eat but was surprised when I went to college how many of the students did not even know what they were. Enjoyed watching you prepare for your meal....makes me hungry. In the summer we eat our tomatoes fresh and also roast them. I freeze them (the extras) and then in the winter makes roasted tomato soup served with delicious bread similar to what you purchased. Yum!!! I loved this......
How wonderful GL - I hope to be able to start my pwn veg garden soon xx
Yay! Another good and lifestyle video. Wonderful wonderful produce. The turnips look beautiful.
*another Food and lifestyle video. And the garlic and leek are beautiful too.
The beautiful vegetables and the sound of the crips lettuce and the waxy paper bags…I want to run to my local farmer’s market! I am definitely bringing my basket the next time I go. I would eat the radishes raw, the mushrooms (my mother said to just gently wipe the dirt off, but no washing) maybe in a pasta dish and the potatoes roasted with olive oil, oregano and lemon (classic Greek lemon potatoes with roast chicken). I don’t use shallots often. Maybe you could provide some suggestions in the future? Beet root would be in a salad and the bread I might have for breakfast with coffee and some fresh fruit.
I am sure I will be using my shallots very soon Marion - stay tuned xx
So I just learned that button mushrooms grown into cremini mushrooms, and then into Portabella mushrooms. All one mushroom variety.
A wonderful video, thank you Marie Anne 💜
What a lovely video of mouth watering delights … fresh vegetables … gorgeous bread and you prepared everything so carefully like each item is so very special… as well they are.. thank you for sharing your passion for fresh food.! Aloha ..Stephanie

I hated beets as a child, but LOVE them now! Will try with your vinaigrette! I love them with a balsamic reduction😋
That sounds delicious Cindie xx
I absolutely loved this, Marie-Anne! Just my kind of food with good quality ingredients and "simple" preparation. I adore beetroot too, also baked in the oven with onion and other root vegetables + olive oil in the autumn/winter. Merci, I am a big fan of both your channels :0)
Awww merci Anna xx
Wonderful job Marie-Anne showing people how to buy fresh food. Thank you for sharing your beautiful kitchen. I have never seen mushrooms prepared and served this way. I'm eager to try.
