I didn’t expected that a unseen layer of dust on the speed detecting sensor would be a cause for , treadmill speeding up and shutting down.
I removed the sensor, cleaned it and fixed it back and there we go…
It started working!!!

Thanks..... my wife has a sears freespirit treadmill, and when she started it up she saw a bit of a flash under the circuit board cover.....my old multi meter leads dont fit in where you test the sensor.....can I cut the sensor wire shorter and re hook the wires?????

How about a smelling of burnt coming from your treadmill and also stops after 30 minutes
