- This is a first!!! After months and months of filming my life as an interior designer and entrepreneur, my clients are finally starting to expect to see a camera person with me everywhere I go!..and...I LOVE IT! Having our clients allow me to film our meetings means more opportunity for you guys to see even more of what I do and hopefully learn from! I really hope to let you guys in on EVERY aspect of my work life because I know it isn't easy deciding whether or not to become an entrepreneur, or take the plunge to enroll in design school and I figure the more insight you can get to help make that decision the better!!

Hey. I’m guessing you’re about 19 or 20 now. How are things? Did you fall through with pursing a career in interior design or are you still in college? I go to school next year and I’m on the fence of whether I want to be an exterior designer on interior. Hope all is well though!
Sayvion Brown Hi Sayvion ! I did enter in design but I didn’t pursue for the only reason that it was really expensive for me and I went to a private school because all Interior designs program in public school were taken ! I’m in the medical field now for a public institution XX

Design Brief (functional and aesthetic criteria), target market (if its retail) / customer profiling, project statement, Bubble diagram, Blocking, Circulation, Mood boards (90% pinterest pics), Prespective drawings to sell the concept or renders if you've time, proposed floor plan / layout , colors and materials

I'm 14 years old and my dream is to become an interior designer, people keep telling me to not set my dreams on only one thing and experience as much as i can, but watching your videos gives me so much inspiration !! If anyone has any tips on the first steps I should take to reach my goal in the future it would really be amazing 😍❤️
I was the same as you once!! Now I am 25 and a real interior designer lol. I would say get inspired and learn about yourself and your personal style, it’s very important to be confident in your decisions as a designer because clients will critique your decisions so learn what you like and WHY and how to put good designs together. Also learning design softwares is also very crucial and will take you very far, so if you have any classes available in high school such as AutoCAD or Revitalize or Sketchup or any type of 3D program will be great to start tbh. Yes, thank you for the effort you put into filming your day to day! As an aspiring entrepreneur, I think it's so interesting and inspiring. The stories you tell about when you hustled as a little girl are hilarious to me because I was the exact same! I remember having my dad buy those huge tubs of ice cream from Costco and some styrofoam cups; I then proceeded to borrow my dad's cooler and fill it up with ice and put the ice cream in it. I had my dad help me bring the cooler, a table and cloth to our favorite park where I set up shop and sold ice cream! I still remember making a total of $18 and being so proud haha and then of course having a life time supply of left over ice cream. One of my many entrepreneurial ventures as a young girl, I envisioned owning a business from the start 😊

i really love how you give so many opportunities to grow and learn to relatively new people. i wish more employers were like that. i believe what they don't realize is that often those recent graduates are people with amazing ideas and have a real passion to work rather than someone who's is been in the market for awhile and is often there just for the paycheque

Most intern or entry level jobs required 1-2 years experience, which is disappointing when I have yet to find anyone to give me that chance to prove myself. Enjoy your vacation, you deserve it!! 🏞️

Is studying interior design is so stressful like studying architecture?
Absolutely loved your design presentation. Loved how naturally you presented your ideas and thoughts to the client. Very open in showing your concept and design ideas for the space. Was very important the client interaction and and participation during the presentation. It showed confidence from all of your teamwork.

I'm so impressed by your channel! I discovered you yesterday and after being suggested this video I decided to subscribe and turn on notifications! I loved how you talked about opportunities and how important it is to give them to people to people who you believe are creative and have talent.
I'm fifteen and in high school and am super passionate about the interior design industry but I'm worried the part time design assistant jobs won't see past the fact that I am young despite the fact that I am experienced with CAD, Photoshop, etc. Anyways, your video made me feel happy because there's people out there who care about seeing the talent that people can have despite their age or any other label :).

Hi Karin, I have been following you since I was in college, it is been a while :) At that time I thought wow this is what I would like to do and where I want to be but I probably would never be there because I don't have any background in design. But I just couldn't stop watching your videos and every time I kept telling myself I'm ok with my job despite that I had no feelings about it and It's too late to change my career (although it's been only 2 years after I graduate, don't know what I was thinking). And you know, after struggling so much with myself I had finally made a big decision to quit the job I was doing and start from scratch in interior design... It's been a few months by now but I don't regret it at all!! I am so thankful that I have found my true passion. And yes sometimes I would doubt myself and get frustrated because I am 26 and it is a bit late to start a new career without any background, there is so much to learn! But whenever those self-doubt or fear occur I always come back to your channel and always leave with joy and motivation! I just want to thank you so much for inspiring me and being the guiding star on my way forward. Thank you!
