I'm glad someone pointed out how good Tai Lung and Shen's themes are. All too often people only talk about how cool Kai's theme is, and that does a severe disservice to how awesome the other two villain's themes are. Also, I'm glad you mentioned how off Shen looked. He looks too fluffy and like how my dog looks when he needs a haircut, when in the second movie, he looks a lot more sleek and refined. Anyways, if the fourth movie wanted to copy the second movie, they should have had Po and the Furious Five go on an adventure or something smh, I like it when those characters vibe and fight together. I certainly missed them in this movie.
i agree people don’t talk about shen and tai lung’s themes enough, though it could be because they’re busy talking about the other multiple things that make them great! when for kai, at least for me, aside from being voiced by jk simmons, his theme is the only thing that makes him memorable. nevertheless i will continue praising the soundtracks from the rooftops 🗣️🗣️🗣️
I just think of this movie as a high budget special of the tv show and not part of the main storyline. Idk I feel like it was unnecessary and unpredictable but I still had fun! Ps. Awkwafina does not deserve the hate and she was great!
Kung Fu Panda 4 is one I still don't know how to feel about, even after learning about the Behind the Scenes. I do plan on making a video about the 4 movies to hopefully learn why I can't get a grasp on 4. Great Video.
Love your ‘Deadpan’ Cuts … so good. Panda 3 continues to grow on me, but it disappointed me that Panda was part of a Village of them. I thought it was his spirit form. Explaining the Duck as his father. 😔 oh, well 😔 We seem to be losing that thing that makes all things cohesive … OVERSIGHT! A singular vision and direction. A sculptor welding a singular mallet and chisel. Godspeed …
Before I watched Kung Fu Panda I thought it was a generic kids dreamworks movie, and this movie kinda felt like what I was expecting when I first watched Kung Fu Panda 1 (although obviously it was much better than I was expecting)
If I was a director I would turn into 2 and a half hour movie, focused on Po and his relationship between villains, get Tai Lung's redemption, turn Chameleon into broken villain and make Shen again into Ultimate Villain (He is literally Palpatine of that franchise) also I would make into Multiverse film in which he can travel between dimensions or time travel instead of Spirit Realm to make more sense (Shen have no chance to get there and Kai exploded there in 3 film), also get all of 3 challenges to Po in one (Tai Lung destroyed physically,Shen Mentally and Kai Spirtually) so that would be great to challenge all of 3. Also make more mature take on a film to make more dramatic, however take some lessons simillar to those in Puss in Boots 2. What do you think?
In this farewell There's no blood, there's no alibi 'Cause I've drawn regret From the truth of a thousand lies So let mercy come and wash away What I've done I'll face myself To cross out what I've become Erase myself And let go of what I've done Put to rest What you thought of me While I clean this slate With the hands of uncertainty So let mercy come and wash away What I've done I'll face myself To cross out what I've become Erase myself And let go of what I've done For what I've done I start again And whatever pain may come Today this ends I'm forgiving What I've done I'll face myself To cross out what I've become Erase myself And let go of what I've done What I've done (Na-na, na, na, na-na, na, na) (Na-na, na, na, na-na, na, na) Forgiving what I've done (Na-na, na, na, na-na, na, na) (Na-na, na, na, na-na, na)
First Spot, now Lord Shen? Does Olivia just have an affinity for comedic yet intimidating villains in animated sequels? Because I wouldn’t be surprised.
I adore Kung Fu Panda with all my heart, but in my opinion- this movie was a huge disrespect to the ones before it. The second I saw the "animation style" - and millennial humor, I knew it'd be bad. Kung Fu Panda 2 is my absolute favorite movie in all of the trilogy. I've watched it so many times- listen to their incredible score almost every day. The visuals weren't ``over exagerated``, it was the perfect balance between amazing graphics, and REALISTIC lighting. Now let's get to Po, the way he acted felt so much more realistic. At times he was silly, but when the serious times came- he was SERIOUS! It seems like in the 3rd film- and now the 4th, they try to make him ``silly and goofy `` all the time. Po in the 1st and 2nd film had such a lovable personality, he had so much EMOTION, his facial expressions weren't over the top either. And I feel as if the characters actually had ``mass`` - like they were actually there. Also like, can we treat the villians seriously like we did in the first two films? They treated Kai like he was a joke- he had a lot of potential to be an INCREDIBLE villian! Especially with his theme song. The lighting, backrounds, ESPECIALLY THE STORY, and the overall design of the movie was a perfect balance of everything. In a way, ( Hopefully this makes sense ) - when I watched Po in the first two movies, I heard PO. I didn't hear Jack Black. But now, all I hear is Jack Black TRYING to be Po. It's just not the same anymore. The voice acting did not feel natural at all in the 4th- you could tell they were reading a script. And Lord Shen, the darker tone to the film made it just THAT good. He had such a personal relation to Po- which made him all the more terrifying. I don't think this movie is horrible, it's just not up to par with the 1st, 2nd, and even the 3rd.
Everybody thinks "action" beats an emotionally impactful movie with a good story. Like come on, the first 2 are fan favorites for a reason. I miss the sweet geeky and lovable Po we used to have, he was always so excited to just be THERE. Especially in KFP 2. I believe that the final movie should've been about death. Everything must come to and end eventually. They need to GROW with their audience. The people thay say this movie in ``GOOD and INCREDIBLE`` - aren't the people that are passionate with the franchise, and want it to remain the masterpiece it was.
Only thing that this movie had going for it was the animation and the music that’s it and yes, I did the fourth movie go into mature themes and another thing I didn’t like was Master shifu number him telling po that he has shoes as successor just feels off because that was the same thing he did for the past two movies we must learn something or do something to achieve this second movie inner peace third movie chi fourth be movie spiritual leader. I don’t like howShifu tell he has to pass down the mantle of dragon Warrior po is in his 20s and I find it weird that he has to retire his title of him passing down the torch to someone else would if something happens to Po because he’s not master Oogway he’s not gonna live for 1000 years. The only reason that Po might have to pass down the torch either if he’s near death or Someone or something cuts his life sort and him having the pass down his title should’ve been saved for another movie. I don’t think the fourth movie would’ve been the best entry for that plot. I felt like passing the title of Dragon Warrior should’ve been po choice not shifu choice It will show more of his growth as a character and showing him maturing and him able to make big decisions like that. Now onto zhen When it comes to her character she is very weak And I mean an writing standpoint because I’m gonna throw out there her Introduction it was very obvious that she was going to be the next dragon warrior Number one her character felt Russia no like really watch the movie again if you want to, but you’ll notice the atrociously and she is shown many times she hasn’t changed like we seen her steal three times during the movie and there was no natural progression of showing her moving gone from and we really do not get a feel for the character even when she explained her backstory of her being an orphan and trying to survive off the streets. Is it when it came to the reveal of her being the chameleon prodigy it wasn’t too surprising of a reveal and then after they tried to make zhen feel bad after betraying help because he gave her many reasons not to trust her nor sympathize with her, which mostly comes to the stealing and that scene with po and zhen just felt so forced like that was supposed to be an emotional moment but due to the pacing and the theme of this movie being more comedic, it did not help for the emotional scenes to sink in It just felt extremely forced due to the fast pacing and the toner the movie it did not help her character at all like it really just Made you think why is she worthy to be the dragon warrior because I’m having a hard time trying to figure that out she doesn’t seem worthy. The chameleon what can I say about the chameleon? Oh yeah, she is hot pile of rubbish of a villain!!! I don’t like her her motivations are weak and confusing because one minute she wants to be all powerful. Then once she has that she said she was rejected from learning kung fu because she was too small which doesn’t make sense because there are many characters that are small and that knows kung fu so that part doesn’t make any sense you have mantis who is the biggest well in this situation a smallest example of small character that knows kung fu very well. and another thing that doesn’t make any sense zhen somehow knows kung fu why hasn’t the chameleon ask her to teach her what she learned Her taken po staff was just executed poorly the whole concept of her being a Shapeshifter and bring it back the previous villains of the past three movies sound cool but the execution was handled poorly. The villains or can I say they did tai lung he only had a few lines and Lord Shen and Kai. We’re done even worse like why even bring them back if they don’t even have any voice roles, which is pretty unnecessary to have them there-because they do not play any major roles and the summary of the movie you’re thinking three villains are going to team up including that chameleon to beat down po so he’s gonna have to face all over again but now we left with this movie. Another reason I hate this movie is because the Director and the co-Director now let me start by saying the co Director I hate it how she was treated. She was sidelined during this movie. She had great ideas she wanted to be faithful to the first two movies which yes, you want somebody who understands the material and is trying to be faithful to the material also she had an idea which is shifu and tai lung have emotional final goodbye but no the director Mike Mitchell decided not to go with that idea now I was talking about him. I don’t like him. I don’t like what he did with this movie. This is pretty and I think he should direct any of the future movies because the movie we got I prefer even though I said I didn’t like it. I prefer it because his other ideas were just no like a big no number one there was early concept art that showed that there were gonna be human characters in this movie. Even the chameleon herself was going to be human which I was confused by, but I was happy that that was scrap because this guy does not understand kung fu panda and I do not like that DreamWorks gave him this movie to work on because he clearly does not understand it and another thing this is mostly about DreamWorks. This movie should’ve been longer, but according to DreamWorks policies they have a movie that exceeds 90 minutes because they feel like kids will not pay attention to a movie that’s two hours long, which doesn’t make any sense. There are many movies that exceeded over 90 minutes long so man across the spider verse the Incredibles most of studio Ghibli movies yeah. Here’s something I would’ve liked to see happen within the movie when it came to Lord Shannon I would’ve liked to see him fight. Li Shan their interaction would’ve been greater because li heart would’ve been a filled with anger so much anger that he would’ve done everything in his power to just kill shen this is the same peacock that murdered his friends. His family burned down his village murder, his wife and cost him to lose out on 20 years with his son. That would’ve been a great part to add the movie. It would’ve been emotional to see li loses anger the past that Lord Shen left him with still haunts him. This is like a little nitpick, but when it comes to the chameleons Komodo dragon army, they do not look like Komodo dragons, which is weird for DreamWorks because they’re good at making animals when it comes to kung fu panda and her army does not look remotely like Komodo dragons if you look up kung fu panda dragon night, forbidden Company, you can see the models of the Komodo dragons look more accurate to real life komodo dragons. Anyhow this was a great video. I’m gonna leave you with this. oLIVia mendel For those who tell you to give up keep on grinding, the path will get Rocky but you continue to fight for your goals success and happiness. Have a nice day. Stay safe and enjoy life.
no that’s not my actual ringtone, but it took me wayyyy too long to edit and reverb it to make it sound legit
I just accepted it as part of the lore of the channel.

yeahhh that’s what i’ve heard, that it’s a movie that lives up to the title of “kung fu panda.” also hi nathan
11:54 not to mention with the 2 recent shows Paws of Destiny and The Dragon Knight didn't even bring back the Furious Five.
If I was a director I would turn into 2 and a half hour movie, focused on Po and his relationship between villains, get Tai Lung's redemption, turn Chameleon into broken villain and make Shen again into Ultimate Villain (He is literally Palpatine of that franchise) also I would make into Multiverse film in which he can travel between dimensions or time travel instead of Spirit Realm to make more sense (Shen have no chance to get there and Kai exploded there in 3 film), also get all of 3 challenges to Po in one (Tai Lung destroyed physically,Shen Mentally and Kai Spirtually) so that would be great to challenge all of 3. po fighting the past 3 villains at once is a cool idea!
In this farewell
There's no blood, there's no alibi
'Cause I've drawn regret
From the truth of a thousand lies
So let mercy come and wash away
What I've done
I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done
Put to rest
What you thought of me
While I clean this slate
With the hands of uncertainty
So let mercy come and wash away
What I've done
I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done
For what I've done
I start again
And whatever pain may come
Today this ends
I'm forgiving
What I've done
I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done
What I've done
(Na-na, na, na, na-na, na, na)
(Na-na, na, na, na-na, na, na)
Forgiving what I've done
(Na-na, na, na, na-na, na, na)
