    Man I just wanted to say I live in Alabama USA. We have a lot of farmers, grain mills and they are happy to give us permission to shoot rats pigeons and whatever else that messes up there grain, corn and so on I love your channel watch every video you put out . Just wanted to say we have places we can’t shoot pigeons cause they fall. In there grain and they are smarter than some people think . What we do is where they go that we can’t shoot we put up owl decoys there and they don’t come back there and come right back where we can shoot them it works every where we put up owl decoys don’t know if that would work for you guys just wanted to throw that in there be safe and keep up the great videos

    • @AirRifleActivities
      @AirRifleActivities  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Randy, that's a good idea. There's just no way for us to climb that high and put up the decoys... I wonder if the decoys will really work - I've seen crow decoys meant to scare pigeons off and pigeons perching right next to them... Do you think if we place the owl decoys at a lower level the ferals will land above them??

    • @randygriffin2033

      @@AirRifleActivities no way there are a lot of people around here that put up owl decoys they will not get close to a owl pigeons are one of a owls favorite food other than rats and rabbits I’ve never seen a pigeon get close to a owl decoys we used them when we can’t shoot where pigeons roost or feed and the best part is the owner will sometimes buy the decoys for us to put up they will work for sure . And you don’t have to put them up high all they have to do is see them pigeons are scared to death of owls

    I've used H&N Baracuda Hunter and Baracuda Hunter Extreme .22 for hunting huge jackrabbits and wood pigeons for about four years. They did the job perfectly. They have good knockdown power and are really accurate. With my rifle (Walther dominator 1250), Baracuda Hunter is a little bit more accurate than Baracuda Hunter Extreme.

    The H&N Barracuda Hunter Hollow Point is the only and I mean ONLY 18.21 grain lead pellet to match the expansion of the Daisy 15.27 grain Hollow Point to date. H&N rocks! Very good hunting pellets. I love JSB also but H&N has a much better selection in the smaller calibers like .177 & .22, and even in .25 which is fabulous my friend. Awesome video. I'm an H&N man myself, and love the pellets he tested, but there is an H&N pellet that doesn't get any credit and it's one of the baddest pellets out there. It is the H&N terminators. They are accurate, hard hitting and do major damage. As I always like to say, they shoot well out of my guns,( fx crown, avenger, neutron star, flash, and urban) can't speak on anyone else guns. These pellets will decapitate birds with a neck shot, and crush their skulls and body shots exit wound leaves a massive hole. Terminators are one nasty little pellet in 22. Wish they came in a .25 caliber.

    • @AirRifleActivities
      @AirRifleActivities  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anthony, I got a box of those too, but it was badly damage in transit. Almost all pellets were deformed. I managed to shoot the few pellets that were in decent condition, but they didn't seem to perform well at longer distances in the field. Anyways, perhaps something for me to look into in the near future 🙂 Perhaps a video dedicated to them alone 🙂 Cheers.

    • @anthonygillespie7233
      @anthonygillespie7233 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AirRifleActivities You should have sent them back. If you do get a decent can of these, you will see a big difference in the way they shoot. I have my guns to shoot them @955 fps which works good for my guns. Another alternative would be the sig air zero Pb hollow point which is the exact same thing as the terminators and they have them on sale at MIDWAY for ($ 6.50) per tin in 22 cal. I brought 4 tins and haven't been disappointed. Gonna buy 8 more tins for 6.50 per tin and you get 50 more per tin. No damage to any pellets so far. CAN'T BEAT THAT !!!

      As for the .22 cal - I must agree with you. 3-4 years ago I thought .25 was the most versatile caliber, but these days I think .22 is the way to go. My results - yes, you'll get them, I've done nothing special to my guns, I bought them with my own money, it's not a sponsorship, etc. After you play with the velocity a little you may get results way better than mine. No joke there. Straight shooting, brother 👍

    I recently switched from Exacts to the Barracuda Hunter in my HW110 177 cal. It is quite accurate and on small game very effective. Also very loud on impact, probably because of the expansion. Still get pass-through on birds but the exit hole is the biggest of any pellet I've tried and it kills them instantly.

    • @AirRifleActivities
      @AirRifleActivities  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That depends on the pellet or slug you use. These days projectiles come in various weights in all calibers, but .22 and .25 most of all. The variety of projectiles is greatest in .22. You can have a light weight pellet less than a gram, or a 40 grain slug, that hits like a hammer and may take down even big game.

    I´m just wondering how much more effective those HUNTER EXTREMES are on the pigeons compared to the Baracuda 18 although the wound channel

    • @AirRifleActivities
      @AirRifleActivities  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I strongly suggest you try both pellets out of your own gun, buddy. The different guns and barrels have different preferences. The HE may be accurate at a lower velocity out of your rifle, thus making for a better energy transfer.

    OK, speaking in my "retired Science teacher" persona...I was curious if anyone has ever tried to do a chrony test with some of these pellets where their 'gap' was filled with something light (like a drop of wax from a birthday candle) that would 'streamline' the frontal cross-section and therefore keep maximum FPS till impact, and then still allow expansion (since the wax is non-adhesive)...Just a curious thought...

    • @AirRifleActivities
