So glad you are feeling better! Love Amish country - will have to talk Bob into taking a drive, maybe in the fall to get some pictures of leaves and buggies! :)

Hi Phil! I love Shipshewana. It's a nice day trip for us in West Michigan too. We love Essenhaus and the cheese factory. Such delicious food!

I have been watching your series of videos. I am awaiting a revision of my total knee replacement that I had done in 2012. I developed a UTI in early July 2024. I was started on antibiotics. By July 18, 2024 I had to go by ambulance to the ER. I had the infection in my blood stream and was in renal failure. My right knee was painful and swollen. So you have to be careful because you can develop a secondary infection.

@@melodybrundage8844 thank you so much for watching- that is my biggest fear. I am always making sure that if I even think I have a UTI to get antibiotics asap….. I’m so sorry you went through that. Is that why you are getting the revision?

@@Misshissproductions Yes, I received oral antibiotics for the UTI but they didn't get rid of the infection. It went to my bloodstream and to my knee. I knew that an infection could spread but I was so sick I didn't even pay much attention to the sore knee until they got me up to walk in the hospital. It was so painful I couldn't walk on it. I was on IV antibiotics in the hospital. I am home now but I will have to have a PICC line and IV antibiotics for about 6-8 weeks when they do the revision. This was not the summer and fall I planned! 😂

@@melodybrundage8844 again I am so sorry!!! I hope you don’t mind me asking but what will the revision do?

@@Misshissproductions They will remove the plastic spacer that is between the two bones of the knee. Remove the metal from both bones. Then I will have an antibiotic spacer for 6-8 weeks. Then I will have to have surgery again to put new metal components on the 2 bones and the plastic spacer that goes between them.

They are telling me that I need a total knee replacement. I can still walking good and the surgeon has not told me anything yet. I have a few questions like is there alternate recommendations? I feel like anti-inflammatory pills could help. Would I talk to my primary doctor or surgeon? Thanks

My personal opinion is to talk to an orthopedic doctor/surgeon. After three years of my knee being in pain and after trying gel shots and cortisone shots I finally had to do the surgery because the pain in my knee was so bad. Now I will say this surgery has been a struggle for me but so many others say it was amazing for them. I’m just not there yet, but my pain is much better then from before the surgery. Good luck!
