A) NOBODY has it all figured out. We are all just doing the best we can. B) You are really brave for sharing your healing journey. C) You have a beautiful soul, no matter what anyone says. As someone who suffered from 18 years of trauma myself, i am proud of you and i wish you the best on this healing journey.
Having had to walk the path of recovery from childhood abuse, and going to contact with a parents that exhibits narcissistic personality disorder I know the challenges I can come from unpacking all that plus the challenges that cptsd present. So I want to take a moment and recognize the courage healing takes. Some days are going to be easier than others. And the compassion you show yourself is a wonderful role model for other people who are trying to extricate themselves. And as a member of the wicked world😂 I really appreciate the insight that you give into the cult. And I hope that through sharing your story others are able to find peace and healing encouraged to do the same work for themselves that you were doing.
I bought and read your book quite a while ago when I first discovered your comedy act. You are by far one of my favorite comics and just to clarify, I am not Mormon and have never been. I am looking forward to you branching out and including the rest of “the wicked world” into your act. You have such an unique perspective on life. I am looking forward to supporting you on your healing journey. Keep being the authentic version yourself. As far as your Sister Wives watches, do them if you want to and don’t if you do not. Just keep trucking’ on and find ways to find peace and joy in life.
Keep trucking forward. You have incredible insight. You are using the resources available to you. You WILL get to where you want to be with the determination you have. Just keep truckin'. ❤
Thank you for being vulnerable and giving us your time, energy and generosity. I appreciate you and I believe others who follow you as well. I find this channel helpful as it put words to the feelings and experiences I have
Thank you for being so brutally honest and vulnerable. I always thought humor (esp sarcastic humor) is the best method of healing. I’m glad you’re on your journey to good mental health and happiness and I’m happy to be a loyal supporter. I’ll be purchasing your ebook and look forward to all your creative endeavors
Life is a journey of healing, it's very brave to be so honest and open. Setting boundaries is a good thing if others impinge on your mental health. You are an intelligent articulate young man and you've added much needed perspective to Mormonisn. Thank you and keep well ❤
Anyone who says they are good all the time is lying. To themselves… to others. We r all just human. We must give ourselves permission to not put others needs above our own. That includes those who depend on us. Easier said than done but years ago I learned about this truth from a therapist which was about how “ we teach people how to treat us”. I struggled with that one. Once I understood what it actually meant.. about boundaries and setting them I became so free to be me and a much less anxiety ridden individual. Be good to yourself Benjamin. You’re Truely the only one who knows how to do that.
You are such a strong soul. Stepping out and being honest is one of the hardest thing to do, especially with all that you carry on your shoulders from generation trauma, childhood trauma and life stuff. You are an inspiration to many many people. Just take life one day at a time. Never stop on your healing journey and keep speaking your truth. Your message has reached as far north in ON, Canada.
I LOVE this content. Healing from abuse and that being the lens through which we watch sisterwives. As a survivor myself, this is interesting on a personal level as well as being the best take on the show
In order to support your goal you should reach out to "Psychology in Seattle" to do an interview. He is currently reviewing "Sister Wives" and recently interviewed a woman who left the AUB. I think you could really help him understand and support you goals at the same time. Good luck!
Love, hugs and support! None of us have it all together and therapy is amazing. I am glad you are doing as well as you are even tough it is still hard. we are all works in progress. I hope you can really take in all the love and support that you have here. your voice is so valuebale for yourself as well as others. Please keep going and don't heistate to share the hard stuff. 💜💜💜
I just got out of a very abusive marriage. I personally don’t think anyone gets over abuse. I have memories from abuse in my childhood. Some days or months go by and I’m fine. Then see or hear something and it’s all back. Hang in there and I hope it gets better for you. I think you’re a great person. You’re doing the first main thing to help you coup with the memories.. you’re talking about it. I didn’t for years and it like eats you. I’m proud of you. Hugs. I say no one gets over abuse. You just learn to go on with out it taking over your life.
I started watching sister wives because Kody reminds me of my ex husband and most of my relationships. I'm now 9 years out of my last abusive relationship and I am definitely still learning and dealing. You're dealing with a lifetime of abuse, which many people are. Its nice you have a platform and a family connection that allows you to gather this following so quickly. I've been posting for months on youtube with no traction, but i am happy to see it works for some people. and also, not a mormon, but yay king benjamin for prophet.
Thank you for saying that out loud. Exmormon Caregiver here. Good for you for trying to improve daily - wish I had your current insight 30 years back. I appreciate how you are speaking out for mental health topics while sharing your truth. Thank you ❤ One love!
We did miss you! I’ll always be happy to see a new video on your channel, but I see you as a real person, and I want you to put your own mental health first. Sending good vibes and love from one internet stranger to another ✨ Also.. looking forward to reading the e-book!
Come do a show in Seattle!!! You're in the lions den in SLC. I'm sure it's so much less intense than your compound of origin, but to us outsiders SLC is kind of intense. Everywhere has its shit, but it will be different shit. Seattle is cool. I'll come to your show.
I can and will buy the ebook. But I have more time to listen rather than read. I’d happily pay $6.66 for an audio version of My Dad Still Owes Me a Pig.
I hear you and see you in your brokenness. I admire you and your intentions. You take your time with your growth. I am here and will continue to listen to you and support you.
Ben/Benjamin- I understand exactly where you're coming from as an individual raised mainstream LDS who's left this religious trauma behind. If you need to talk reach out, if you need to get reach out, if you just want to vent reach out! I'm here for the fake church that exposes Mormonism!!!!!!
You're allowed to be imperfect and still have an opinion on your trauma. And the real life of the situation happening is not on you. Good for you and your transparency. I'm sure it'll breed awareness and long term change.
I grew up not in mormonism but my family is very religious, narcissist and close minded. I have to move out the country where I was born. I still dealing with a lot of bs 30 plus years later. I feel you, I know your pain, it's valid, you are not alone and you worth of all the love. Big hugs ❤
Thank you for sharing information about Mormonism and your journey to deal with the mental health issues caused by the way you were raised in Mormonism.
You are just like us. We all struggle with alot of “stuff”. The human condition. It is hard…man. I only get through leaning on God. That’s the only reason i am here. I don’t know your belief system but GOD is the answer. Truly. Vulnerability is a blessing. Hugs, strength and wisdom to you my friend.
That's the bind of leaving a cult. The cult forces you to project this false perfect image, and they tell you that anyone who leaves is going to face misery and destruction. There's a logical and understandable drive to prove them wrong by living well, and we're already primed to fake it. I'm hopeful that eventually those of us who leave will come to a healthy middle ground where we can say life is life. Life is is messy, it's hard, it's beautiful, it's absurd, and it's profound, and all of that is perfectly okay. If you figure out the way down that road before the rest of us, please let us know how. Also, your fake church needs to be a pun on "holding to the rod" because im childish 😂
I think I found it under info on one of his other videos. He has other merch, too. I ordered a couple of things, the cause is well worth it. I’ve spent a lot of time in recent years listening to exmos during the pandemic I know, and reading information posted by those I don’t on Reddit. None of what he and they are doing is easy - I remember confronting my LDS dad (there’s a few touchy people still practicing in the church who don’t like the word Mormon, but hey - they didn’t change the name of their choir until 2018 & I’m trying to respect that), I know how deeply ingrained the teachings are and dad’s a member of MENSA but I can’t talk to him about what I consider dishonesty in his church or get him to question what he grew up believing. Try going back to see if it’s under info on another video, I barely use TikTok so I’m sure I got it here.
If you legit want to start an organization, I have a little grant writing experience & could maybe help. Not sure you can legit have a ‘fake’ religion but can organize it to achieve your goals to help others.
So im just coming into your content “King Benjamin” Where do I go to learn about your back story? Are you part of the Kingston clan or the Sister Wives TV show folks, or neither?
He’s Kody Brown’s nephew but he’s never been on the show. He was raised AUB but left it for Mormonism at around 18 yo, then discovered that Mormonism is made up and stopped supporting that church.
Just to add, I appreciate your honesty. It’s not easy. You and I are suffering from similar things. I’m a 53 year old male and for about a good year and a half now, I no longer go to church. I look to others for courage to keep going because it’s difficult for me. Engrained in this religion my whole life. Even served as a stake high counselor for the Mormon church. Never again. It’s not true like they teach. I have no l body close to me to talk with and relate to.l about it so I take comfort n hearing stories like yours and others. Thank you so much for your courage and I’m sharing your heart. Stay strong man! (Stumble forward)
Ben I really hope I'm reading this wrong. I've been watching your feedback videos and comedy shows on TH-cam, and found them heartbreaking. This latest update really made me sad and angry at all the damage that's been done to you. We don't have Mormon compounds here in the UK, but we do have Mormons and other religious nuts, plus all sorts of freelance nutters who find their own ways to screw their kids up. So, when you started asking for help, I was there for it. Then you started touting your book, and (as dear Meri would say) "my wall went up". I fear that you can take the boy out of Mormonism, but you can't take Mormonism out of the boy. '
I love the humor you use, but I never assume humor means being perfectly well. I use humor and seek it out all the time as a little anti-depressant. Are you really the only one in your family who has left? I’m so sorry. Btw, Kody has done a bang-up job of letting the world in on some of the problems with polygamy. I hope he can learn to be reflective, but it’s hard for him bc he is one of the narcissists that culture raised. It’s sad, because he can’t understand why he’s unhappy, and he is hard-wired to rely on his status in his culture and lots of admiring wives and children, which are fewer every day it seems. That’s my take, anyway. Good luck in your healing. I will buy the book! 🐷
The "fake religion "you play around with is funny. Also can be confusing as it is sprinkled in with the serious stuff. This cult is so convoluted. You do a good job of showing just how ridiculous it is.
A) NOBODY has it all figured out. We are all just doing the best we can. B) You are really brave for sharing your healing journey. C) You have a beautiful soul, no matter what anyone says. Your not alone. We are all trying to get our crap together. I believe that’s our life journey. Just be true to yourself.
I love that you're on this path of healing!! I'm here for it all!!

I was just wondering when your next video was coming out, and bloop, here you are 😊 Thanks for posting! Wishing you continuous healing

@TheFreshKingBenjamin You could call your "church", The Church of Revealing Truth and Healing Laughter .
I hear you and see you in your brokenness. I admire you and your intentions. You take your time with your growth. I am here and will continue to listen to you and support you.
You’re not wicked. You’re not satan. Your a kind beautiful young man whose telling how
Mormonism has affected you
You are truth telling.
Love seeing your uploads Benjamin!!

I found both Reasons to Stay Alive and The Book of Comfort both by Matt Haig really comforting reads ❤
Hoping your life request is on its way to being fulfilled. Miiisssss your videos!!!
I didn't see a link in your bio. Amazing how many comedians suffer from depression. Do take care.
It’s under his last video here
Thank you for sharing information about Mormonism and your journey to deal with the mental health issues caused by the way you were raised in Mormonism.
You have to heal yourself first, before you can help others. Your health should always come first. Be well, we will be here!

Heal out loud 👏👏👏
Team up with other exmo’s to get this done!

You got it! Great job!
Connect with Logan and such people? And the organisation that was featured on Sister Wives.
Omg I wondered where you went. I’m also an exmormon and I really enjoy your content
Remember you have left a cult. Too bad, there is not a movement like is happening now in Scientology. People protesting the cult everywhere
Link your book in your Bio, the description and a pinned comment
Satan???? Well, at least you are being compared to the big guy. Stay strong and never lose your kindness.
Yes, was worried ❤
Having trouble finding the book link, I'm guessing it's over on TikTok but not on youtube?

Glad you took a mental health break, true profit of the Mormon church
So I don’t have TikTok is there another another place your link is located?
I'm the one who exposes the family secrets . It gets lonely. I don't have advice.....just take care of you.
I will join your fake church! Creating satire to mock and expose the manipulation sounds incredibly fun and important
The fact that you can take accountability, HUGE.
So true

Are you in therapy? Could help you.
