  • How to get the candy cane effect when weaving a tree net. I love the way this looks, especially when you choose two colors that make it pop!

I can definitely understand how hard it would be to film in a tree, climbing them, (or finding one that’s fun to climb) is hard enough as is, but that was a really great tutorial! Thank you :)

Regarding the usage of bolts, what if I used wooden pegs or dowels instead?

You can use pegs or dowels to separate the rope from the tree. Bolts are helpful if theres an area of the net that wants to slide up or down the tree and you need to lock it in. For me, some combination of blocks with a few bolts to hold the perimiter's position is what works best. You can skip bolts sometimes too if theres enough tension and the bark isn't too slippery!

Is it posible to make the perimeter out of steel cable and the netting of type 3 550 paracord?

I'm not sure. Never tried that before. I wonder if the paracord would fray against the metal if it has a rough finish. Knots might not also hold as much if it's slippery. Worth a try to see if it works!

whats the best color to use? i know light colors detteriorate after awhile but what should i use instead??

Dark colors don’t show dirt as much so they’re always safe but I haven’t really had any issues with lighter colors deteriorating so whatever you like best!

    What rope to use?
    Paracord or static?

    • @CanopyCraftStudio

Both! Static for the perimeter and paracord for the fill

Why will no one slow down and actually show which way to wrap? I know it makes a difference and one day I will figure it out but like most instructional videos the important details are glossed over. Otherwise cool video.

Haha I only have 60 seconds for these shorts. This was actually edited down from a 3.5 minute video I posted to tik tok. I'm editing a 3 hour paid course right now that should cover everything. Sorry for the rushed details!

So give him money and he'll show you a video of what you asked for. It's the American way!

@@Dr.Vincent_D_Gilmerhe literally said there’s a 3.5 min version on his tiktok. But if you need a more in depth tutorial he made a paid class for it. What is wrong or greedy about wanting money for a 3 HOUR tutorial??
