"Creating these hypothetical dangers to justify their actions": now that's a chilling line. Remember when people advocated for torture on the ground that there _might_ be a ticking bomb?
Did you do it barefoot like Aiden? I would be more worried about hookworm, rusty metal and glass shards than stranger danger. I run short distances barefoot to get rid of excess static. I wouldn't go 1/2 mile barefoot and my tough old feet wouldn't want me to either.
@@thepaterfamilias5853 ... Then I moved out 2000+ miles away and turned back to visit 2 years later. I got married. We traveled since they were babies. Children mainly have good heads on their shoulders to walk alone with their angels, if they are taught the way reasonably young. Karens' are mainly adult children that pop out of the woodwork and live their insecurities as being sheltered with imbalanced bi-partisanship left-side tailspin dependencies to blue oligarchism, and sometimes you just want to slap them! Those ones are usually Marxist Democrats.
A half a mile? My mom did that to us at 4 plus miles...I think I was 7...maybe 8...that was 50 years ago...at 15 she kicked me out...and I was ready to go...
A 1/2 mile walk home @ that age? Wow, I know shyt can happen but he was old enough to cause a ruckus but ain't old enough to know @ stranger danger, i. e. may have gotten kidnapped, per this neighbor. He got consequences for his actions and that's it - spare the rid, spoil the child. Hell, if he would have gotten kidnapped, thank the heavens nothing happened, I'd eyed the neighbor. Seems like the neighbor would have monitored his walk versus implying dastardly deeds. Go figure, you can't discipline your offspring because real world; acting up in someone's will get him put out on the side of the road.
I did that with my ADULT friend when HE was causing a ruckus in MY car!! And my mother was STILL telling me I shouldn’t have done that, making these ridiculous hypothetical situations that did NOT happen. And the mother did NOTHING wrong!! Her son was acting up, she put her foot down, kicked his ass out of the car, and made his ass WALK!! She’s a GREAT mom!!
My son used to walk all around the neighborhood, and I had no problem with it. He was in 5th grade and a boy scout, and also liked to hike. I had started developing degenerative spinal disease, so I could no longer keep up with him. Also, on Saturdays I slept in, and we had negotiated him having a hat and water with him if he went for a walk. He got picked up just under a mile from home, because his turn around was exactly one mile away (busier county road). It being a Saturday morning, I was sleeping in. A cop picked him up, and I ended up explaining he is a Cub scout, and he had water with them. Of course a Karen had called - who thought he was a little girl, which has a host of other seriously farked messages for kids. It happened again two months later, when he had gone the opposite way. Same cop, and the same Karen. The really sad thing was he stopped going for walks. He's not put on weight, but we wonder why there is so much obesity with kids now.
I went back to google and checked on Google maps My walk to school from. Kindergarten to the 2nd grade was one mile I walked with my brother who was 2 years older.
I walked to and from school in Houston from 3rd through 12th grade. Why is it all of a sudden a problem? Don’t you think per capita we had just as many perverts and killers then as now?
Remember in the old days, were the police were kicking mothers out of parks because they weren't keeping 6 feet away from other children during Covid? Yeah, same tyrant, different year.
I still vividly remember walking home a mile plus after school in the 90s and early 2000s. Was there a risk? Sure there's a risk lightning could strike while I'm in bed through the insulation and roof and take my life. By that logic I should have to live in a faraday cage with lightning rods because it ~might~ happen.
All these ppl saying “I was never kidnapped” “I was never run over”. 🙄what about all of the kids that have been? No such thing as a “safe neighborhood”.
But, what’s going to happen to the kid when the mother is no longer here? How is he going to learn important life skills like how to get places on his own if he doesn’t have the experience right now?
Every comment: I walked 5 miles to school. Today's reality is not as safe. Can't survive with the same freedoms. Child trafficking hasn't decreased but increased instead. Kids can walk for miles if unimpeded by killers and kidnappers. I certainly wouldn't gamble my kids life to find out tho. For any reason. Not in these days.
It’s not all like that. And kids need to learn that there are consequences to their bad behavior, and the importance of being independent, which does mean walking places by yourself. Yes, the world isn’t always safe. But, that doesn’t mean that kids need to sheltered by their parents all of the time. And we need to let our kids have real life experiences so that they can learn important life skills. Something that cannot be accomplished if parents are being overly protective, not letting them do things on their own.
Most of your videos thumbs up. Today no. A half a mile?!?!?! Are you insane that you think this is okay? If we lived in the sixty's even might, might have been okay but there's no neighborhood that only pedi you know what off separating us all!! There's no safe neighborhood that is guaranteed free. Wake up! A half a mile away!!
It doesn’t matter how far the walk the point that your mom kicked you out of the vehicle and made you walk home. It’s terrible parenting in the world we live in is so violently extremely wicked and evil. I’m sure this is not the first time the mom has done this. This probably saved the child from being left somewhere further and a more dangerous situation. Terrible parenting skills to teach your child that this is OK that your child will grow up to do this to their children possibly I’m glad the cops knocked on her door. Wake up check
That’s your world view, most likely because you are spending your time reading all of the horror stories in the news, instead of letting your children have real life experiences.
This story is getting so fake that it makes me wonder why I subscribe! How many different stories are you going to come up with pretaining to the original!
No it isn’t. It’s a very smart thing to do because it will teach the kid personal responsibility. Something that he will be thanking his mother for when he gets older, and more independent.
This is why I don't trust police officers or other citizens and something cases, but with that person who talked about Uvalde, Texas, I agree, knowing that 2 of my family members had passed away from them, coward's not doing their job. That's another reason why I don't like people with badgers. They want to act talk with each other. And they got people to back them up when they're doing a track or stop n break the law for doing that, but they can't do a criminal job when something was happening. So lots of kids passed a few teachers passed. Oh, but they arrest a couple citizens. Parents who Ran inside the building to protect the their children and other children and got out safe. But where was the officers with their badges? Oh, that's right. From walking dead, taking a bat to some of those guys' head. Yeah, not enough money was put out for those people that lost their lives. Ah jail prison for not doing their job that they're supposed to, but again, you know, people with badges to get away with murder. Forget away with kidnapping to get away for the line. You know, all the good stuff and not facing any kind of prison time, or loss of jobs. Their pension, nothing.
378 self proclaimed heroes stood around in Uvalde and said they have no duty to protect anyone but themselves while they treat residents like that.
Ever more, cops are REVENUE generators and agents of those with an agenda. Upholding the law and maintaining public safety is the last thing they do.
Yep, but when real heroes wanted to rush in they stopped them.
"Creating these hypothetical dangers to justify their actions": now that's a chilling line. Remember when people advocated for torture on the ground that there _might_ be a ticking bomb?
I used to walk that far each day to Kindergarten at age 6.
5 for me. It was 6 blocks.
And who didn't grow up to be a weak little cupcake...?

My walk do kindergarten was just over 1 mi. We have to put government back in its box.
@@Barbara-te7xzhe wasn't barefoot Barbara
I walked home when I was between 6 to 8th grade in the south side of Chicago
Stupid Karens'! Two major rules: #1) Mind your own business; #2) Stay in your own lane!
If she was really concerned she would have just watched him from afar until he was safely home, period, not calling the police.
Legalize parenting....
When I was five, I walked two miles each way to and from school. Rain, shine or snow.
Sue them.
For what?
I walked progressively further every year from school until I was old enough to drive

My sister made her son walk home over his behavior. Probably about 2 miles. He was about 10 years old. This was probably 35 years ago.
Not surprised. I had a case with an 11 year riding their bike around the neighborhood. People have nothing better to do.

Crazy! W 7 kids...I've had to stop the car a few times!
I'll bet it was that exact cop in the clip. The one with the man bun
Cops with man buns or tattoo sleeves, I remember a time you couldn't even get a decent job with either of those. How times change.

Millions of kids are walking farther then that every single school day and many in neighborhoods that aren't safe.
