I've been installing custom ROMs since Galaxy S3/S4 HTC One M7. Those were the days of trail and error. TWRP has definitely come a long way. Honestly didn't know what the f**c I was doing. But eventually figured it out watching Max's videos.

Alseir I fucked my phone up that bad years ago that it completely wiped off the imei number and all the stuff needed to register on the network! Even three didn't know what was wrong haha I put it back to factory settings and took it in and just said it stopped receiving and calls/signal etc haha

@@johnchristiantapales1867 I think you can back that folder up which keeps all that stuff safe I believe whilst I was looking at a way to try and solve it. Bit too late once it's already done though 😂

This brings back great memories. I use Google Pay a lot and unless that mess has changed and Root is easier to hide with no sudden Google updates that disable it out of nowhere, I guess my Rooting day are behind me now.
I had so much fun trying out different roms and mods, dammed Google security.

This is a brilliant straight forward tutorial without too many irrelevant side notes which is always appreciated! Finally managed to install a clean rom on my xiaomi and its so much better than that bloated MIUI...

I will never make that mistake again. Custom rom (Lineage os) hardware damages my phone. Constant reboots almost every day, after one month the phone just stop working. Now it start to power up logo and power off. Same happen in recovery. few seconds and turn off

I have note 8 pro. I put custom recovery. Then I rooted with the AA zip file and it was successful. But when I reboot the system, the phone can be turned on and it comes back to custom recovery. When I go to the reboot menu, there is no os written

I'm trying to flash a custom rom on my Asus TF700.
When I use the "fastboot flash recovery twrp" instruction I get a fail message saying writing failed, remote: invalid state.
Without twrp I can't go any further.

ok... but for me cmd line "fastboot boot customrecovery.img" in platform-tool makes my phone restarted. When i quickly turn off my phone and from bootloader run recovery it works. BUT only once. Next time i have "no command" trying launching TWRP. Why?

But the problem is sometimes mobile shows (not rooted) root apps aren't working at that time...if I restart my device... Then it will be back to root... Then again show not rooted

I have a galaxy s8 plus model i955u that is locked by AT & T and I'm trying to unlock the phone to install a custom ROM, any info on how it is possible.
Just a helpful tip for anyone looking to do this on a Tab 2 GT-P3113 (does not have a home or Bixby button), after you download TWRP, unplug your tablet from the computer, then hold down the volume up and power button until you see the "Galaxy Tab" screen, then release. This will get you into the TWRP recovery. Also, I only did this because my son broke his Kindle, so I needed something to hold him over until we can get it repaired. Nothing fancy smancy. Though I am not new to the custom Rom concept, I am new to the installation game. So, if you also fall into this category of advanced newbie-ism, and are not quite sure how to find Rom's and such, perhaps you can start with the Android Ice Cold Project (AICP). I have provided links to the Rom and the Gapps (for GT-P3113 and must also be installed with the Rom). I hope this helps save a few folks some time and headache. Thanks @Max Lee and @TechTectrix!

I am trying to root my Moto g5s plus and I installed TWRP using adb. Now when I go into recovery mode to flash SuperSu, it says "no command" with the android guy laying on the floor. I tried the factory reset option and I installed TWRP again but still same problem. I can still load my phone and use it as usual but now I can't go into recovery mode with TWRP and flash supersu to root it. do you know how I can fix this problem?

Hi friend, my story is that when trying to rotate my device it ends up in bootloop what I did was install an official rom to flash it and now when I try to rotate it what happens to me is that when entering twrp the names of the files have strange names. Later I am trying to put a custom room I do the wipe data and all that I flash with twrp and then when I start I get the logo of the rom that I install and I do not know what to do. In summary I try to install a rom and it does not start. Help me pls

you mustn't factory reset it's a huge mistake you should wipe cache,data,system,dalvik then flash the rom in other words you must full wipe. and if you couldn't find you sdcard after wipe then goto mount option and mount sdcard first or otg if you have

Thank goodness my grandmother's friend's samsung J4 has a removable battery. It is boot looping as well. I just found a ROM on youtube and flashed it. Why I'm so impatient and skip and... I don't feel regret after all. I can still go into TWRP recovery mode after removing the battery. Also I don't like videos that are too long and skip watched the instructions.

I genuinely don’t understand, I have twrp recovery on my sm-t280 tab 6 device which has android 5.1 running on it, it’s the max version it can be on but I’d like to install 6.0 marshmallow for reasons but I don’t have a clue how to do that.

No flash ROM then Magisk, csc is not part of ROM usually some ROMs have it in aroma installer.

Hey Max, Good to see your videos bud. I keep encountering errors when flashing ROMs onto my SM-J700H. TWRP works as it should, its the flashing of the custom OS that never works, Ive tried CM, Lineage, Resurrection, tried changing the updater script code which eventually installs, however when booting up eg. Lineage, the phone gets stuck in the bootup screeN, I have been trying for two days to no avail. PLEASE ASSIST!!!
