Regarding your question, and to keep it short, this is definitely a recognizable song but far from their most popular songs. It's especially recognizable if you were a fan of UM before they started writing their own songs, when they mainly covered touhou songs, and this song is one of those touhou cover songs.. I think I wrote this before but UM only started writing their original songs around 2014-2015, curiously around the time Light Bringer went on indefinite hiatus, which gave Fuki more time to work on UM.
The "Parallelism" albums of 2012 and "Miseria" of 2013 contain original music, and also lyrics written by Fuki or Kasumi to Touhou Doujin music. The lyrics to the song "Lost"-from "Parallelism β"-are by Fuki.
You're right, I had my timelines wrong. I was thinking their original stuff only came out starting with "Affected" and forgot the Parallelism albums. Thanks for the correction.
I like the point about the double-time snare on the upbeats compared to the downbeats. It doesn't feel like a major difference to me, but it can definitely feel kind of strange or off-kilter, particularly in the transition. I realized I know at least one song that does both with the double-time feel, and I was on the fence about it, but will probably request that one after all. 🙂

They are Japanese and independent, so there isn't a lot of marketing especially outside of Japan. It's unfortunate because I do think there is a market for their music in the West.

Unlucky Morpheus is inherently a band that assumes a lot of contextual and language knowledge from its listeners. Musically, they blend various metal elements, making it somewhat accessible. But this live tour, "Lunatic East," is on a whole different level. The amount of context required to truly get it is extreme.
Every time someone requests songs from this tour, I can't help but think about this. I've seen far too many confused reactions. I respect the enthusiasm behind the requests, but I honestly don't get why it's requested so much to people who may not have the necessary background knowledge.
