    I had this as kid. 10 years old and a total disciple to Mad, Crazy and Cracked magazines.

    I had this record. Long gone now, though. Good to hear it again. Mad was a fun magazine. The way his voice waivers at "Gerald Ford!" always broke me down. Still does. Thanks for the upload.

    I had this record (I still have the issue in came in). I'd forgotten how funny it is. Thanks for sharing. I haven't heard this in decades. What a hoot.

    As you probably heard the sad news, MAD Magazine has shutting down after 67 years of publishing comedy and satire. I used to read it since I was a kid.
    MAD usually came out with flexidisc records that came with the magazine. It was a great run, and it will surely be missed.
    RIP: MAD Magazine 😢

    Wow, thanks for posting this! I had this when I was 9 years old. I loved playing it back then but somewhere along the line it got thrown out. Great to listen to it again after all these years!

    I was 9 when I had this record. So fun to hear it again now that I am almost 48

    Awesome! Thanks for putting this up. I was in Jr. High School when I bought this issue - brings back memories to listen to it again. I had no idea I had grabbed the last, collectible magazine with the records that day along with a Pepsi and bag of chips.

    I love how that sour noted off key playing of 'Pomp And Circumstance' really sets the tone for this gutbuster.

      YES! When I have that thought, I think it in his voice. LOL The way his voice waivers on "Gerald Ford!" The desperation is astounding.

    Thanks so much for posting this. I first heard this on the Totally Mad CD-ROM collection, along with edited versions of other songs from Mad records. Mad also released a CD in the 90's called Mad Grooves which has complete versions of the songs but unfortuately excluded this. Perhaps the constant laughter was too similar to "Meet The Staff of Mad"??

    Thanks for posting this, I don't know how I got a hold of this issue at the age of 8 in 1982... but I asked my dad to play this record on the Hi-Fi, and he stopped it and threw it away in disgust. (Impulsive fellow.) It's been something I've thought about off and on for nigh 40 years.... not sure how to feel about something getting resolved after so long. : |
    The big downside is that my dad was right, this was painful to sit through; It's not clever humor, unlike the actual features in the issue which are a hoot. : D

    Wonderful idea to put the hole of the record on Neuman's missing tooth.

    For some reason the other day I got hit by a nostalgia wave and remembered I had this record when I was a kid, of course I had to see if someone had put it on TH-cam. Now to see if someone had that Alf disc where he rapped about eating cats or something.

    The last of Mad Magazine's cardboard record inserts
    then they went to soundsheets!!!

    • @michaelmlm6422
      @michaelmlm6422 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They'd already been putting some on soundsheets. "Super Spectacular Day" (1979) and "Making Out" (1978) were soundsheets. I think "Disco Mad" was as well.

  • @beatlesopusnintendo
    @beatlesopusnintendo 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    i agree with sygo7g, even if they don't bring back the records at least make CDs. the last time they released an extra was in 1997 as a CD-ROM that had a couple of old songs that were previously extras. the one good thing about it was that it had better sound quality than the cardboard flexi-discs

    I have this record but unfortunately it has a tear in it on the edge so it doesn't play very well. Haven't heard this in years. I also have some of the other mad records that came in magazines such as mad disco and makin out. Thanks for posting

    In the early eighties I had this record I had put it over all my albums cuz I was laughing so hard it was kind of cruel to put Jimmy Carter in there and Lyndon Johnson but you got to understand World politics in the world of disharmony once you sit in that seat you change everything you about you almost better just being yourself and don't bother because you don't really Serve the People only the ones who got the power to make the wheel turn to be serve sad to say

    There was a much funnier laugh record in Mad that started with William Gaines or somebody being him, trying to make a speech to the staff of Mad and the laughs started right away, building to an incredible hilarity. Does anyone still have that one?

    • @joejohnson3891
      @joejohnson3891 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      DOYOULOVETROUBLE I believe you are talking about "Meet the staff of MAD" it was the first record in 1959 and it was Al Feldstien not William Gaines
