We all know Elvis is special but Scotty was one hell of a guitar player. The simple fact that he came up with these crazy chops on 4 takes is phenomenal.
i always feel like Svotty and even Bill do not get enough attention or credit for being part of this thing that happened and yes Scotty is under rated as a player.
Ladies, I had no idea what a handsome man was supposed to look like till I was 10 years old and this special was on TV.... At my neighbors house, I thought he was OK, and I looked around the room. I saw that the eyes of my neighbors mom, older sister, and all her friends were absolutely glued to the screen. The light bulb went on in my head. A few months later I had talked my folks into buying me a guitar....
I never get tired of reading the comments of Elvis' fans just so I don't feel lonely admiring, loving and missing someone who is not presently with us and yet will be loved forever and will NEVER be forgotten ⚡⚡⚡🔥🔥🔥
Interesting how he and his band are seated amongst the audience, in the round, in a very familiar and initimate way, not at a distance from a true stage.
Lord have mercy if only there were men like this today he was just gorgeous and so talented he couldn’t keep still he was feeling that song and in that suit oh help 🥵
This is everything I like about Elvis right here. The way he works the crowd at the end once he calls for "one more time". This is how you move a crowd. Young studs take notice, the women up front sure did.
I am a 37 year old self proclaimed ladies man and oh yeah I'm black but even I have to give it up to ELVIS! He was definitely the King! A perfect combination of talent, image and charisma!
Elvis's very good friend of many years, James Brown, agreed with you and would have liked your comment. Elvis himself probably would have said James was the best!
I believe when God created Elvis Presley a big bright blue shining star shined down on this whole world a Elvis was born to us by God. He was the brightest star to ever hit Hollywood or the Music industry a he created his own sound a his own personal love for God a his fellow man.
I said before a year ago this is the last time Scotty and Elvis played together and in reaffirming that realization, and listening to this song remastered on the album commemorating the 50th anniversary of this show, I can just say that boy they really did a great great job for the last time they ever played together.
Only Elvis and Scotty were on the original in '54. Bill black had died 4 years before this in '64. DJ they picked up later. Still, this is 1 of the most historically significant songs ever recorded by them. IT, started it all, with the help of Sam Phillips and Dewey Phillips. This may be the last time Elvis and Scotty played together ever.
My mom has always loved ELVIS... he died when I was 8. Every year after he died she baked a cake 4 his birthday. As I got older n really started listening 2 him I really learned 2 appreciate his music n his talent n of course how he is the most sexiest man that ever lived.. He is the BEST EVER N ALWAYS WILL BE. I've been listening n watching the 68 comeback constantly n it brings tears 2 my eyes with every song. He's gone way 2 soon, but his music will last till the end of time. ❤ ❤
If only, if only, Elvis lived long enough to take control of his life and career. Break free of Parker and his manipulation of Elvis. The people around him, Elvis was beginning to clean house. Taken his precious Lisa Marie. Elvis would have grown. Tragic, what happened, while People around him watched, knowing how unhappy Elvis was deep inside his beautiful heart❤

I really love listening to how Elvis' voice changed and improved over the years. You compare this performance to the original recording and it's astonishing; the original is fantastic, don't get me wrong, but he sings the song with so much more power and grit to it. I still think, at least vocally, he was at his best during this special (though his stage aesthetics were probably at their peak in Aloha from Hawaii).
Elvis rocks this song and he is the master of coolness! Wow! Wow! Wow! The best there is till today. Love his music. He is: The VOICE! From South Africa. 👍
Maravilhoso, primeiro sucesso do Elvis gravado. Se falerem em show acústico o Elvis já fez antes, em 68 ĥá 56 anos atrás. Espetacular, Elvis Presley é atemporal.😮😮

MMM...I wonder why Obama didn't bestow the award while he was in office. Not to be political...OBAMA the ultimate hater of the white man. Long live the KING!!
Nobody since Elvis could sing this song like him...to sing the blues you had to have gone through something real painful...a great loss and be able to out your soul into it....growing up in poverty with both whites and blacks made Elvis be able to put so much soul into his music....he's literally jumping out of his seat...the energy is coming out of him....I hate that America was so segregated when Elvis was coming of age...I would've loved to see him playing this tune at some black blues club in Chicago. They would'veost their fucking minds lol Elvis was the blues...he was the quintessential American! Elvis, James Brown, Prince, Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Michael Jackson, Muddy Waters, etc. All the great architects of American music have transcended.
