As much as I love k1g4n3's remix, this version isn't what I'd recommend for first time reaction, it should be something you listen to after you've already experienced the original song. The best ones would be the offcial version (for obvious reasons), the NotherWael mix or the Lunartique mix (those 2 are a lot closer to how the song played ingame).
Such a strange version of the song to recommend for a first time reaction.
Whoever dropped this version of the song instead of the official song is weird. It completely ruins the story that’s presented in the lyrics.
It doesn't ruin it but makes the story presented differently but it is the same two people who blame themselves for the perceived and actual suffering of the other and wishing to rectify it in a very roundabout way due to them not wanting/being unable to talk

It's weird that this one plays Catherine's half first (denoted by the higher pitch), when part of the driving conflict was the fact that we DIDN'T know her feelings, only Heathcliff's perspective on the matter.
It was a literal plot point that neither of them could express themselves honestly.
Makes me sad the requester suggested a bastardized remix instead of the original, completely ruins the song.

"Through Patches of Violet" is one of those songs you can listen to a dozen different ways and a dozen times each. There's no wrong way to listen, just kick back and enjoy your trip through Wurthering Heights.

So the reason I chose this particular version is exactly what you said @ 9:49 (this is MUCH closer to the in game version), the original song is about 2 minutes long.
Good to know who's responsible for recommending this bad remix to react. Literally lost every charm the song has.
I don't like the way it cuts out between the verses, Lunartique's mix blends it better, but I don't think it's as bad as these comments are making it out to be.
