if someone wants to get into industry in the US, would getting a phd from europe 1st then going for a postdoc in USA advisable? Because phd in europe is shorter and offers better WLB??
Do you think in Europe main hurdle is language rather than skin color? Few do get PI position ....If one has C1 German language and does PhD in Germany, can become PI there?
I think this a biased opinion from Bivas! Advancement of research doesn’t depend on the country but depends on the labs and institutions ! And also Sorbonne has many non-European professors ! Especially european institutions recruit diverse background candidates and have many international scholarships ! However in the same time, US has very less international scholarships, they prefer their own citizens.
I am not saying that advancement of research is country oriented I have given general overview but exceptions are always there. Also in terms of scholarships yes usa have less scholarship but normally you don't need that since most PhDs are funded. Also it's true even agreed by many pi that though diversity and inclusivity is pitched in European University context it will take time to actually come into effect.
thanks for this video dude. It really helped a lot
