At the onset of WWII on a Shadow Island -- Asia's neutral crossroad of intrigue -- Secret Agent X-9 teams with Chinese and Australian agents to stop the Axis Powers from possessing a formula to create a synthetic fuel code named "7-22."
TRIVIA: Secret Agent X-9 began as a comic strip syndicated in newspapers by King Features in 1934. It was created by hard-boiled detective writer Dashiell Hammett and artist Alex Raymond, the hand behind Jungle Jim and Flash Gordon. It was adapted by Universal Pictures for a cliffhanger in 1937 and again in 1945.

Lloyd bridges is the best reason to watch this. He plays it straight but with a certain cool detachment. Nothing seems to surprise him in all the chaos and absurdness that surrounds him.

This kept my attention, with a good story line, twists, duble-crosses+, everything a good suspense / thriller, could ask for.
Pleased I watched this, as the weather was chilly & "changeable".

Never even knew they made a serial based on Mr. Hammet and Mr. Raymond's Secret Agent X-9. This had better acting, script, and sets than the usual fare of the genre. Really enjoyable.
They drop to cast X-9 again, ; some accidents happened during the film making at least 2 died .
I love the comics! This morphed into Secret Agent Corrigan which is pretty good.

I was amused at how the exauhst fumes, always went up, and looked a bit like a 'sparkler' accompanying it.
Kind of like the fake moon landings.

This was a very popular series during Post World War2 Era. I know as a kid, I enjoyed re-runs of it in the 60's and as an adult in the 90's & today of course. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍👍

This is great stuff. Delightfully simplistic -- even downright corny in spots -- but great fun to watch. A recurring gaffe -- they keep talking about The United Nations (in 1943) -- but the UN didn't come into being until 1945.

Interesting that they mention The United Nations (01:02:00) which came into existence October 24 of 1945.

I know there are class B movies but having watched many of these old timer's I think there should be further classifications, e.g. C, D, E and F classifications. Some of these flicks are so poorly directed we need more classifications to better sort these films, this one here may be on the 'E' variety based on facial expressions during this film.
