This game is the closest thing we have to a sequel. But still, Over The Hedge deserves a sequel or at least a tv series on Netflix or Peacock. Also I grew up playing this game, and I still have this game and I enjoyed it.

It's supposed to be. There was also the possibility of an actual Over the Hedge 2 if the first movie did good enough financially. The box office performance was good but not good enough for DreamWorks to want to make a part 2.
@@kittbluevenom2384 The game is not canon and if Dreamworks ever made an actual Over the Hedge 2, it would have a different plot and Vincent remains bad in the end upon defeat again with more screentime included.

I prefer the DS version of the story.
There are instances in the home console version where the cast acts out of character. (Especially Verne.) The DS version feels like a more believable continuation between the film and game.
However, the story wasn't bad. It introduced a lot of neat ideas.
Example: Vincent becoming an ally.
