FYI: This video makes it look easy to edit, and it is. If you want to make a video where the clones interact with each other longer and have more back and forth dialog and actions with each other, you will find that to be much harder. The hard part is not in the editing but in the filming. You must get the timing perfect between clones actions and dialog each knowing what the other is doing and saying when they are not really there or they will talk over each other when you splice them together. You will not be able to fix bad timing on harder and longer skits in editing without it showing. So practice your skit, and know the timing before you even turn on the camera.

Realistically, this could be done without a green screen, however I teach elementary art and most of my videos are created to teach things for my students. In this case, I had students who wanted to create an effect copying themselves and they wanted to use the green screen to change the backdrop because it would work better for their story.

You could use an iPad, but you wouldn't use iMovie. I used iMovie on my Mac. iMovie for the iPad doesn't work for composite shots (multi layered shots like green screen effects). The best app I have found for doing that kind of thing would be the Green Screen app by Do Ink. It is fantastic and allows you to key out any color- not just green, and it allows you to create three layered composites. Please subscribe to my channel because I plan to upload videos demonstrating how to create special effects on an iPad in the next few weeks.
