It is a Scott Spark copy for sure, from a reputable chinese brand doesn't mean it is bad quality! I bet it performs and last same as the real deal! Cheers!

If u had to guess the Scott spark is made in the same factory and there were extras, or they did not want to get rid of old the carbon molds and custom machinery.

@@mtb_mechanic That's a really hopeful situation. A lot of these chinese products are literal copes but with worse materials. Gotta be real careful - you can never find out what the carbon quality actually is without destructive investigation.

@@jeffbergford4724 thanks for the clarification. Hope you have a great time on the replacement. I own a 27.5 medium Chinese carbon frame that I built up and raced while living in north Thailand. It's been in over 50 xc races without a single issue and put me on the podium at the Thai nationals three years in a row in my age group. Needless to say I've been quite satisfied and plan to build up another Chinese frame in the next year or so.

@mcmtb when a Chinese brand make a carbon bike they won't design their own frame as its much more expensive to design the frame moulds and carbon sheets so they will use a frame mould that they already have i.e. one that Scott designed

Rumor is that some of those China carbon factories that produce major brands (like Scott) secretly use the same molds to produce off market frames they sell out the back door without permission of the major brand. Or that when a major brand shift’s manufacturer plants the old plant keeps the mold and continues to produce the frame as an off brand.
This frame could possibly be from a Scott spark mold but produced and sold as a grey market off brand.

I think that bike is more classified as a “trail” bike. It has a slacker head tube, typically 120-130mm of travel, and is targeted for fun and playful trail riding. XC bikes typically have a steep head tube angle, 100mm of travel, and is targeted to XC racing.
98% of people who say they ride XC are actually doing trail riding and would be better suited with a trail bike. I’ve seen your riding on the channel and your definitely more of a trail rider than XC racer. This bike suits your riding style better.
    Really nice bike.

Had my LBS check it out and we were pretty impressed with how smooth the bearings are and how good the engagement is. Still within my first 100mi so only time and trails will tell how good it is over time. But if you can, look it up. Very nice and cost effective hubs for those WTB rims. 6 pawls, 104 engagement.

They build it on a Scott Spark mold, but not using the same carbon, neither the same manufacturing standards, resin, etc. That's why the original Scott Spark frame is almost half the weight of the Chinese version. But I'd guess that the Chinese version is probably even stronger, since frame walls are thicker, in exchange of a better compliance and flexibility where it needs to flex.

Has anyone had experience with one of those rigid mtb forks from trifox, suspension adjusted.
I want to replace my old hybrid bikes lame suspension fork.

    Good night Mark!
Would you recommend purchasing this Trifox frame?
Here in Brazil we already had one that broke in the saddle tube and is the only one that I have news of.

I agree that everything breaks... even your heart. lol😂 kiddin! hahaa. anyway, Chinese carbon brands seem to progress just like Trifox, Ican Bikes and Lexon. Saw plenty of good reviews from forums, aliexpress and alibaba that they provide promising bike experience. I've heard that they actually produce frames/parts too for other brands. Nice update on your mfm100 trifox, looking forward to see more of this on trails :)

Some people say Trifox is producing carbon bikes for some Italian big names. Idk if that's true

MC, sounds like you may have some doubts about this frame. Trust your gut. Unknown manufacturing history or quality consistency? Safe riding.

    • @williammorris6097
      @williammorris6097 ปีที่แล้ว

You are implying inconsistancy in Chinese carbon frame manufacturing.. What is your basis for that assumption? I have owned and raced Chinese carbon no name brands in 46 xc races with zero problems on only one hardtail frame. I put 300 kilometers per week on that bike ftraining every day with zero problems.I now own a Chinese carbon full sus frame that is almost identical to this one. Three wins, one 3rd place finish in 4 races so far in my age group. Again no problems. Stick to your name brand bike and shell out a fortune for it. Or, with the money I saved building my chinese carbon fo almost half the price, funding my trip to Thailand to race it as I am wriing this now, sitting in Udon Thani, Thailand, away from the snow and cold of Colorado for several months, keeping my training going round the year. That is far more valuable /memorable to me than a decal with a well known name brand on my downtube.
