I was pleasantly surprised by this drive having ball bearings as opposed to fluid-dynamic bearings, like most Fireball 3s have. This drive sounds lovely.
This is definitely one of the strangest sounding drives to me because of those bearings. Mine definitely has fluid bearings; none of that sonorous whining.
Thanks for the feedback. :) While one video has already been scheduled to go public (on May 13 at 12 AM), I plan to upgrade the audio recording setup sometime next month. Until then, I will try my best to boost the iPhone 8 audio on future HDD videos.
@@SmartBonnieYT yeah iphone audio needs to be boosted by alot, when i was editing my 2006 mac pro video i had to boost the audio to iMovies max of 400% for it to be hearable.

The head on mine is so silent, can't tell if it's doing anything or not
Love these, also love your videos keep at it :)
I've had many of these, and I've seen some die to faulty firmware, bricking it. Also seen some with bad sectors.
Muy difícil capacidado por calle dijo muy difícil muy días
