About that the 1980's version did get a ENGLISH dub just NOT in the USA it only got a British dub this reboot I believe doesn't HAVE a North American English dub because of the 1980's version never getting one.
The 80's anime version is relatively more lively, packing with all the iconic UY dialogues and scenes we all love. But then, both Lums in the 80's anime and remake are as cute as can be! Ataru's dream of his global harem and his "I'm the ideal man for all women" line in 1:06-1:12 re simply LOL x 10000000000!!!!!!!
Why didn't she just zap him like she always does and also at least remake Ataru didn't take to long to apologize to Lum like OG Ataru did, took this man days to apologize looking like he was on his death bed.
I don't see what is the reason Lum has to be mad at him when he wants to pick up girls after all she trusted the situation the fault is hers for believing he would marry her. She's just wasting her time with him. Besides they are neither boyfriend and girlfriend nor married so he can do what he wants and she can't do anything to ruin it if this is a harem anime after all.
That's comedy sitcom anime for you, this was a different age, different time during urusei yatsura's original run, when people were entertained with comedy in anime as it was super rare besides Osomatsu San and a few others.
Urgh 💢! I really HATE this situation. Because everybody cannot understand what Lum say and Lum cannot understand what they say either, Ataru take this opportunity to cheating, so terrible. In remake version, Lum not use ANY her iconic electric shock ⚡ at all, similar in manga version, BUT during old version, that Lum at least use little bit electric shock despite Lum cannot communicate for while and use laso to catch Ataru. During night, i accidentally dream 💤 about i go to school and go vacation together with Lum. I don't know how i can have that dream. Forget that, not really important about what i say 😅. Lum, please, back to normal 😭.

Toshio Furukawa's voice (Ataru's voice actor in the 80s) ... is eternal! But the current voice actor (Hiroshi Kamiya) is doing a great job. ^_^
