What the fuck did all of us do? I’m sick of the entire community being blamed for a select minority’s actions. We do not approve of any actions made by people that involve fnf. It is not only heartbreaking to see, but damages our reputation. Don’t blame us all. Blame the few who were bullying him.

@@DrawciaGleam02 As an avid fan of the Terraria Calamity mod, and DM Dokuro subsequentially, he mainly worked on said mod for Terraria. But prior to that he used to do Undertale remixes, including Reality Check Through The Skull, a very popular megalovania remix and one of my personal favorite ones. As for what happened with the Calamity fandom.. Well, there's a lot, but I'm not gonna bother going into it as it's.. a LOT.
Usually, game creators, no matter how terrible they can be, are 99% of the time not the reason. There's different kind of people that can join a community. Good people, neutral one, and then.. you have the morons and toxic ones... There's nothing that can be done about. Even if creator would speak up about the toxic people specifically, I think it wouldn't change much. It's painful, but that's just how things are..
Phantom Arcade actually Said in a Live Stream that the devs of the base game as nothing to do with the mod community that the devs wants to makes their own story with their own characters that never actually expected this kinda community but he also talk about that is unfortunate that mods are being cancel but he also give him some tipos and the most importante one:take Care of their health and be Nice to people while finding and exposed bad people and kick them

I honestly feel bad for the actual creator of fnf, i miss the times we had mods like whitty, hex, ruv and sarv, trollge, SCP, st, fnaf 1, before sonic exe and huggy wuggy ruined everything

I watched a really nice, chill fandom turn toxic in a month. What happened? An anime related to a book came out, and kids flooded Tumblr. I got into two fights with children. I deleted my blog, and made a new one, and am not nearly as active in it.

I think the reason why creepy pasta mods are popular is because most people still see fnf as a "kids game" and the horror mods are seen as "mold breaking" Anyway, best of luck with the mod development and other stuff your doing ❤

And if I recall, the game is suppose to start with bf and gf about to "do it" until the dad stops them at the last second, and yeah, pico is originally from a game where you stop school shooters by becoming a school shooter.
I’ve left the community a pretty long time ago. It was a great community, full of creativity, then it became a mess of controversy and mistrust. I was one of those people hoping for the community to get better, only for it to get worse, and worse. There are some people that are still fine, it’s just that the “minority” became the “majority.”

@@ivoneo2806 actually, I've seen quite a few cases where creators have been torn apart just from trying to do something they find fun within the FNF community. I'm not going to discount the fact that there are some talented people in this community, but saying that this community isn't horrendous to a degree and tearing itself apart is just a hardcore case of denial. I can quote three MASSIVE instances of it: Untold Loneliness, YCRE, and Trinity were all songs that got a TON of hate for absolutely no reason (this happened on Twitter, by the way). Personally, I only stay in this cesspool of a community because of the good people I work with and the fact that I find making music fun. I hate the toxicity that this community oozes, but I can put it aside because of these factors. Take away one of these facts and I would have dipped a long time ago. And yes, this toxicity is everywhere on the internet, but it's especially prevalent in the FNF community specifically. And I'm not even going to go into the sheer amount of drama present for the sake of my sanity, but the fact that people in the community is obsessed with a streak of how many days we can go without FNF drama speaks for itself. (ah yes, nice edit.)

Sure, there's obviously a part of the fandom that actually has decent people in it, but that doesn't negate that the toxic part still very much exists and affects people. Your experiences with the FNF community definitely have shaped parts of where it has gone to currently but I feel that with the amount of younger people in the community its really hard to have a productive team and an enjoyable time working on a mod without all the leaking or other petty dramas that come along with it. My heart goes out to you, Kamex and the rest of the team still hard at work with Retrospecter V2 since this stuff sadly takes so long to work on with each and every tiny drama or serious irl situation pushing stuff back more and more. Wishing the best for the future of your channel and the FNF content you create with less drama and problems from the entire community!

Seeing this breaks my heart. The mod community should’ve been a place to come together and be creative together. I watched the mod community grow and saw how bad it became… I don’t and will never blame you for leaving. You take care of yourself, okay?
Honestly I think commentary community is the one to blame here by blowing things way out of fucking proportion. If he decides that’s he is not making mods anymore that’s his decision and more power to him. However I believe there is only so much ‘drama’ is because of the aleph one number of idiot commentary channels fishing for drama because they hate fun I don’t know.
I and my friend Yuramagnet quit making music and art for the FnF community because of exactly these points. The mod creators were horrible to us, and refused to pay us competent pay for our work, so we would send in incomplete files and then drop the projects. Eventually, we quit making anything for the FnF community, and Yura even quit making music on his main entirely. (Yura still produces but not on TH-cam or by the same name.)
Things to do in the FNF community: 1. Leave This comment caught on a bit more than I expected so I’m just gonna leave this edit here, first of all thank you to all the people who liked and even if you’re just reading this. Secondly, don’t get me wrong, I was and might as well still be part of the FNF community just not the modding spectrum and if you’ve watched through this whole video (read comments/replies) you can get some ideas why. However, I found Retro (again) and many more amazing people and things through said community so it’s not all bad through and through, there are just some parts, sadly most parts now, that are rotten to the core. What I’m saying is the modding community and those revolving around it may have brought a lot of bad but there’s still some good left, but the main game and its modding community are two things which can coexist aswell, and the full game isn’t even out yet. Still, It’s okay to enjoy what you enjoy as long as you are not negatively affecting others in the process, same goes for people who dislike FNF, and tbh I don’t have much more to say so that’s all. Retro, as a dedicated subscriber of this channel...no, as a supportive person, you take as much time as you need. We'll all be here to support you like we have since you began. I know this is easier said than done, but don't listen to the kids of the community. They're just kids and they don't care about others feelings all that much. We want you to be happy, so take as much time as you need. It's not easy dealing with communities like this, especially since most gaming communities are just filled with toxic children. Keep in mind, however, that your fanbase has stuck with you throughout this rough journey of yours. We all love you, Retro!
I totally understand the drought of motivation especially after everything you and all the others around you were going through. Passion projects are incredibly difficult to complete when involving others and it hurts that much more when things just don't go the way you wanted. I think you've done only your best to handle such events and really showed that determination through all the content surrounding the mod and music made along with it. I adored your mod for its songs and all the great animation, I hope that things have and will continue to turn in a good direction and that you are able to breeze through whatever steps needed to be taken are next.
It isn't always the fnf community messing things up not that serious any one can mess up, also the video probably going to talk more about the 2 anniversary to his mod

Honestly i can see it coming from a lot of people in newer generations. There is so much stupid unhinged nonsense often thanks to tiktok, attention span dying, clickbait trends, literal stolen content, politics (especially gender politics where anyone can claim anything and throw accusations), etc. The internet is where those people's sanity goes to die in echo chambers.
Thing is, it's not 'misunderstanding', it's fully intentional. People taught their kids if they feign damage and scream loud enough, they get their way.

I have never joined the FnF community and barely played the game, only acted as a connoisseur of the music itself. And I swear, every amazing mod, amazing track, amazing song seems to be surrounded by an ocean of controversy and toxicity. I hope you are on an upswing now Retrospecter, and I hope you continue to make the content you find fun. (And I hope you don't delete the old work itself, but that's just me)
Children ruin games and fandom's, FNF had and still has huge potential to be really really funking amazing, just the kids that were attracted to this and butchered all of this shit up is sad. This mod, this channel was the one of the first things that get me into the fnf and music, it become like something special for me. It's very great to hear that you was able to get through all of that, we'll be with you no matter what you would do with this mod, what other cool ideas you'll have.
I'm quite unwilling to publicise that I'm an FNF fan these days precisely because of the way my fellow FNF fans conduct themselves. We had a whole world of truly amazing things, and tore nearly all of them to shreds.
Even after so long I still really love the VS. Retrospecter mod plus both IPU and IceBreaker. But going way back, I remember when I found you from your remixes! It's a shame to hear how awful things have really been for you and your team in reality. I really love this community but at the same time, I just wish people were able to behave themselves. Hope you're able to bounce back and do your usual thing, you ought to take care of yourself!

This is why I be telling some people in the community to be careful, detach themselves from toxic people, and MOST importantly make sure to keep their distance. I for one am keeping my distance and still am to this day. RetroSpecter you were and still are an amazing modder not mention an amazing addition to the community but if you need to keep your distance and take a LONG time to yourself or if you even decide to LEAVE it completely... Yeah the base fnf game itself is fun still and is great but holy shit the community makes the undertale and steven universe communities look like the second and third comings of jesus
@@georgiepig5726 believe me, when the base game drops, I bet the community might go back to its humble beginnings but with more effort and even more solid bangers. I predict d-sides might do remixes of the entire full game once it releases (probably not but someone else might). Other remix mods like b3 might do the same. I predict there will be more mods after the full game releases.
This is understandable, I fell out of the community because of how many molders got outed for being Pedos or something really bad like that and I was tired of it, I did design my own OC for a mod that’s now not really that anymore. But listening to this video I completely understand it all, and I’m so sorry you went through all of that because I get it in some way and I hope you can make pt.2 just as legendary as pt.1 was and just take your time so your happy with it

@@ivoneo2806 I’m gonna be honest here. You have been infesting every comment I see here, trying to force this agenda that the community is not toxic or bad in any way. Targeting literally anyone who says something negative about it. Now, of course, there is truth to what you’re saying. The toxic side is a minority. However there’s a point where you gotta accept that minority is either more then a minority, or are a REALLY loud one. It’s shown by the bad people who get cancelled to hell and back after getting exposed while working on a FNF mod, and it’s shown through good people who get unfairly treated due to that certain section of the fandom. I haven’t even started talking about the fact that there was literally a goddamn Liveleak mod for a while. Point is, this community, like every community, has its ugly bad sides. Not sure why you keep pretending those ugly sides don’t exist. Retro himself is the proof here.

@@ksmart1235 yup. It's sad, really, but It turns out the community it's pretty trash. We all saw it happening to more fanbases, like Baldi's, FNAF for sometime, even Roblox maps. There are still very good creators out there, like the creator of Whitty and Boy and Girl, the creator of /Pibby, the creators of Hotline 368, they are very talented and great, but the community.. Yeah.
I wish you luck brother people can be very annoying, and you can't fight back. That shows how much dedication you put into your work not retaliating against the community.
I think the problem that I saw was receiving negative feedback spiraling out of control into trying to meet community expectations too much creating stressful pressure. I think it's good that you take time to take care of yourself. The key is to have motivation and passion for what you're working on, and it turned out well with that update for that person's birthday.

it worries me how quickly new fandoms descend into a maddening cesspool of toxicity, yet it starts to make sense when you somehow have games like this are somehow predominately played by children (or in some cases, people that act like them). As an artist myself and a fan of yours for a few years (actually found you through your Hollowknight remixes ^^).
I've always been a big fan even before fnf and Vs Retro has always been my No. 1 favourite, it sucks to hear about how such a good thing got dragged down over and over again (especially because it was such a cool and inventive project)and it'll be sad to not be able to see Vs Retro hit it's "peak goals" (stuff like weeks for every sin and even possibly the virtues you were thinking of) but everything you're doing has been understandable and I can only wish the best for you in the future. This is just unfortunate.I forgot about fnf and the community until i saw this video and remembered how horrible it was. Horrible people everywhere and just being toxic at any given chance. There are/were genuinely talented people in this community, but most have either gotten into controversy or left because of tons of other controversy from other people/mods. I've been a fan since the Undertale and Splatoon remixes were starting to come out, and I've always enjoyed what you've made, Retro. Your music is great and I adore your characters. As someone from the remixes that aren’t fnf I enjoyed watching this and not being in the loop [which was probably for the best] I laughed at some things and frowned at some but I think this video was very good Thanks retrospecter, I hope you feel better and get better over the course of this year. Sorry that this happened to you Retro. I never knew the full story until now and now I understand everything there is to know. There's always some bad egg's looking for the next person to tear down, start drama, or put on trial. This is why I'm not too deep in *any community*. I will admit, there was some pretty suggestive dialogue in version 1.75 free play songs. Pretty spicy~ I also like what you've done with the mod, despite some flaws along the way, and I hope you finish the others sins some day. Even if it's the last FNF mod you ever do. I think your a great FNF mod creator!
When I 1st saw your mod, I'm amazed how it turned out. The art style, the interesting songs, and the wonder of the story. Just letting you know, there are people who talk about the negative side, but there are also people who enjoy the creativity you and your team made. I first discovered your channel from your Splatoon remixes. And later recommend your other remixes. I was looking forward to what kind of remixes you're making and others as well. Seeing the evolution from remixes and original music. It felt like I was seeing a journey. The toxicity from that community took it like a landmine. Look, there is no shame in cancelling a mod you've lost your steam for. Especially for a community you've come to despise (and for good reason).
What the fuck did all of us do? I’m sick of the entire community being blamed for a select minority’s actions. We do not approve of any actions made by people that involve fnf. It is not only heartbreaking to see, but damages our reputation. Don’t blame us all. Blame the few who were bullying him.

@@DrawciaGleam02 As an avid fan of the Terraria Calamity mod, and DM Dokuro subsequentially, he mainly worked on said mod for Terraria. But prior to that he used to do Undertale remixes, including Reality Check Through The Skull, a very popular megalovania remix and one of my personal favorite ones.
As for what happened with the Calamity fandom.. Well, there's a lot, but I'm not gonna bother going into it as it's.. a LOT.

Usually, game creators, no matter how terrible they can be, are 99% of the time not the reason. There's different kind of people that can join a community. Good people, neutral one, and then.. you have the morons and toxic ones... There's nothing that can be done about. Even if creator would speak up about the toxic people specifically, I think it wouldn't change much. It's painful, but that's just how things are..

I watched a really nice, chill fandom turn toxic in a month. What happened? An anime related to a book came out, and kids flooded Tumblr. I got into two fights with children. I deleted my blog, and made a new one, and am not nearly as active in it.

@@ivoneo2806 actually, I've seen quite a few cases where creators have been torn apart just from trying to do something they find fun within the FNF community.
I'm not going to discount the fact that there are some talented people in this community, but saying that this community isn't horrendous to a degree and tearing itself apart is just a hardcore case of denial. I can quote three MASSIVE instances of it: Untold Loneliness, YCRE, and Trinity were all songs that got a TON of hate for absolutely no reason (this happened on Twitter, by the way).
Personally, I only stay in this cesspool of a community because of the good people I work with and the fact that I find making music fun. I hate the toxicity that this community oozes, but I can put it aside because of these factors. Take away one of these facts and I would have dipped a long time ago.
And yes, this toxicity is everywhere on the internet, but it's especially prevalent in the FNF community specifically. And I'm not even going to go into the sheer amount of drama present for the sake of my sanity, but the fact that people in the community is obsessed with a streak of how many days we can go without FNF drama speaks for itself.

Your experiences with the FNF community definitely have shaped parts of where it has gone to currently but I feel that with the amount of younger people in the community its really hard to have a productive team and an enjoyable time working on a mod without all the leaking or other petty dramas that come along with it. My heart goes out to you, Kamex and the rest of the team still hard at work with Retrospecter V2 since this stuff sadly takes so long to work on with each and every tiny drama or serious irl situation pushing stuff back more and more. Seeing this breaks my heart. The mod community should’ve been a place to come together and be creative together. I watched the mod community grow and saw how bad it became… I don’t and will never blame you for leaving. You take care of yourself, okay?
Honestly I think commentary community is the one to blame here by blowing things way out of fucking proportion. If he decides that’s he is not making mods anymore that’s his decision and more power to him. However I believe there is only so much ‘drama’ is because of the aleph one number of idiot commentary channels fishing for drama because they hate fun I don’t know.
I and my friend Yuramagnet quit making music and art for the FnF community because of exactly these points. The mod creators were horrible to us, and refused to pay us competent pay for our work, so we would send in incomplete files and then drop the projects. Eventually, we quit making anything for the FnF community, and Yura even quit making music on his main entirely. (Yura still produces but not on TH-cam or by the same name.)

This comment caught on a bit more than I expected so I’m just gonna leave this edit here, first of all thank you to all the people who liked and even if you’re just reading this. Secondly, don’t get me wrong, I was and might as well still be part of the FNF community just not the modding spectrum and if you’ve watched through this whole video (read comments/replies) you can get some ideas why. However, I found Retro (again) and many more amazing people and things through said community so it’s not all bad through and through, there are just some parts, sadly most parts now, that are rotten to the core. What I’m saying is the modding community and those revolving around it may have brought a lot of bad but there’s still some good left, but the main game and its modding community are two things which can coexist aswell, and the full game isn’t even out yet. Still, It’s okay to enjoy what you enjoy as long as you are not negatively affecting others in the process, same goes for people who dislike FNF, and tbh I don’t have much more to say so that’s all. Once again, thanks if u read and or liked this or even if u didn’t, and thank you Retro for openly sharing your experiences with us so that they may hopefully not be repeated as the future goes on, wishing everyone a good day/night/whatever, I’m out 🙏🏾💙

I totally understand the drought of motivation especially after everything you and all the others around you were going through. Passion projects are incredibly difficult to complete when involving others and it hurts that much more when things just don't go the way you wanted. I think you've done only your best to handle such events and really showed that determination through all the content surrounding the mod and music made along with it. I adored your mod for its songs and all the great animation, I hope that things have and will continue to turn in a good direction and that you are able to breeze through whatever steps needed to be taken are next.

I have never joined the FnF community and barely played the game, only acted as a connoisseur of the music itself. And I swear, every amazing mod, amazing track, amazing song seems to be surrounded by an ocean of controversy and toxicity.
I hope you are on an upswing now Retrospecter, and I hope you continue to make the content you find fun.

Children ruin games and fandom's, FNF had and still has huge potential to be really really funking amazing, just the kids that were attracted to this and butchered all of this shit up is sad. Personally, I am fine with you canceling the mod, I think that you have great potential, and just becoming a musical artist, you don’t need to be under the umbrella of a video game when you’re able to just make astonishing musical tracks on your own

This mod, this channel was the one of the first things that get me into the fnf and music, it become like something special for me. It's very great to hear that you was able to get through all of that, we'll be with you no matter what you would do with this mod, what other cool ideas you'll have.
I'm quite unwilling to publicise that I'm an FNF fan these days precisely because of the way my fellow FNF fans conduct themselves. We had a whole world of truly amazing things, and tore nearly all of them to shreds.
Even after so long I still really love the VS. Retrospecter mod plus both IPU and IceBreaker. But going way back, I remember when I found you from your remixes! It's a shame to hear how awful things have really been for you and your team in reality. I really love this community but at the same time, I just wish people were able to behave themselves. Hope you're able to bounce back and do your usual thing, you ought to take care of yourself!

This is why I be telling some people in the community to be careful, detach themselves from toxic people, and MOST importantly make sure to keep their distance. I for one am keeping my distance and still am to this day. RetroSpecter you were and still are an amazing modder not mention an amazing addition to the community but if you need to keep your distance and take a LONG time to yourself or if you even decide to LEAVE it completely... Your choices are of upmost respected and cherished. Be careful and take good care of yourself.

@@georgiepig5726 believe me, when the base game drops, I bet the community might go back to its humble beginnings but with more effort and even more solid bangers. I predict d-sides might do remixes of the entire full game once it releases (probably not but someone else might). Other remix mods like b3 might do the same. I predict there will be more mods after the full game releases.
This is understandable, I fell out of the community because of how many molders got outed for being Pedos or something really bad like that and I was tired of it, I did design my own OC for a mod that’s now not really that anymore. But listening to this video I completely understand it all, and I’m so sorry you went through all of that because I get it in some way and I hope you can make pt.2 just as legendary as pt.1 was and just take your time so your happy with it

@@ivoneo2806 I’m gonna be honest here. You have been infesting every comment I see here, trying to force this agenda that the community is not toxic or bad in any way. Targeting literally anyone who says something negative about it.
Now, of course, there is truth to what you’re saying. The toxic side is a minority. However there’s a point where you gotta accept that minority is either more then a minority, or are a REALLY loud one. It’s shown by the bad people who get cancelled to hell and back after getting exposed while working on a FNF mod, and it’s shown through good people who get unfairly treated due to that certain section of the fandom.
I haven’t even started talking about the fact that there was literally a goddamn Liveleak mod for a while. Point is, this community, like every community, has its ugly bad sides. Not sure why you keep pretending those ugly sides don’t exist. Retro himself is the proof here.

I'm sorry for all that's happening to you, I can't even imagine how it might feel like to have your dream project be so judged like this. Altho I don't watch a lot of streams, you're still one of my favorite creators, specially towards music and remixes, so i wish you the best. I understand why you want to continue Part 2, I guess it doesn't makes sense to stop now, just try not to push yourself too much, do it because you want to and do your best with Kamex.

@@ksmart1235 yup. It's sad, really, but It turns out the community it's pretty trash. We all saw it happening to more fanbases, like Baldi's, FNAF for sometime, even Roblox maps.
There are still very good creators out there, like the creator of Whitty and Boy and Girl, the creator of /Pibby, the creators of Hotline 368, they are very talented and great, but the community.. Yeah.

I think the problem that I saw was receiving negative feedback spiraling out of control into trying to meet community expectations too much creating stressful pressure. I think it's good that you take time to take care of yourself. The key is to have motivation and passion for what you're working on, and it turned out well with that update for that person's birthday.

it worries me how quickly new fandoms descend into a maddening cesspool of toxicity, yet it starts to make sense when you somehow have games like this are somehow predominately played by children (or in some cases, people that act like them).
As an artist myself and a fan of yours for a few years (actually found you through your Hollowknight remixes ^^).
I've always been a big fan even before fnf and Vs Retro has always been my No. 1 favourite, it sucks to hear about how such a good thing got dragged down over and over again (especially because it was such a cool and inventive project)and it'll be sad to not be able to see Vs Retro hit it's "peak goals" (stuff like weeks for every sin and even possibly the virtues you were thinking of) but everything you're doing has been understandable and I can only wish the best for you in the future. I'll still be here for the music, godspeed Retrospecter.
This is just unfortunate.I forgot about fnf and the community until i saw this video and remembered how horrible it was. Horrible people everywhere and just being toxic at any given chance. There are/were genuinely talented people in this community, but most have either gotten into controversy or left because of tons of other controversy from other people/mods. It just really sucks that this community caused all of this stress and need to get away. I really hope nothing but the best for you retro.

As someone from the remixes that aren’t fnf I enjoyed watching this and not being in the loop [which was probably for the best] I laughed at some things and frowned at some but I think this video was very good

Sorry that this happened to you Retro. I never knew the full story until now and now I understand everything there is to know. There's always some bad egg's looking for the next person to tear down, start drama, or put on trial. This is why I'm not too deep in *any community*.
I will admit, there was some pretty suggestive dialogue in version 1.75 free play songs. Pretty spicy~

When I 1st saw your mod, I'm amazed how it turned out. The art style, the interesting songs, and the wonder of the story.
