      Dude, I am 64 and have been working out about every other day since the pandemic started....at home, using just a little $100 weight bench. It works just fine! I feel so much healthier and my lower back is so much better. You too can do this!!! If I can do it at 64, you can do it at 50! ;) I just came across an Android app (probably on apple too) called Workout Pro. It has everything! And, no weights needed, you use your own body weight! Professional looking and a quality app. Just follow the routines. They have ones for beginners! Start off slow and get yourself in better shape to live a long and healthy life, my friend! =(:^)-

I foresee this getting broken by animal or vehicle. The 6kwh we are installing at our winery, which is a traditional design and it's 40 feet/13m off the ground.

    Here is my small 10 cents worth, 2 things , first you might want to consider using RAWL bolts and anchor into the concrete as the vibration from the blades can make the welding to crack . Secondly does the windmill have a brake on it TO lock it against winds that are travelling at very high velocity that can destroy it also put a safety rail around it, JUST MY 10 CENTS WORTH OTHERWISE ENJOY IT.

    • @joed6722
      @joed6722 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      .

    • @davebrace8846
      @davebrace8846 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I'm certainly no expert but I'm not convinced that weld is strong enough & yes, it should have some sort of mechanism to lock/limit the speed!

    • @joed6722
      @joed6722 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dave Brace the reason for the plug welding is two fold first it will prevent moisture from getting between the plates and secondly the increased connection points will certainly make it stronger and less likely to be influenced by vibration.

    • @Pats-Shed
      @Pats-Shed 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      This is a H-rotor VAWT , it's very design prevents it going overspeed and I assume that the turbine controller has dump load resistors to limit the speed . I do agree that it should have anchor bolts or chemical anchors . One thing that this turbine design does not tolerate is being off perfectly plumb, which is why they are generally bolted into position using very long threaded rods welded to the re-bar with a nut and washer above and below the flange plate base for adjustment. When its perfectly vertical the gap under the flange is then filled with concrete.

    • @phantomwalker8251
      @phantomwalker8251 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Pats-Shed there hippies,cant expect too much..he could of used threaded rod,which i thought it was,or now he can drill the holes for chem anchores.that weld is enough,heaps,should be 3 runs though.plus fill the holes,which would take like 50 yrs to rust.or more.i think panels would be better cheaper.lot of work for 1 kw.thats 3 solar pnls.

I have been saving and planning to try to do what you are doing with your homestead, but in the States. I started watching your channel to get tips on how you were doing it. Its also amazing watching you guys start a small community and network of friends with the locals and how you all support each other is so many ways. What you've built on your land is very impressive, but what you built with all the people and friends around you is truly amazing.

    I like the deign of that windmill but a little concern about the short tower height. Taller towers get the blades into cleaner stronger air. Also, it appears it could be a safety problem of someone walking into the turning blades in the dark or while moving things around on the site.

    • @ellenorbovay5226
      @ellenorbovay5226 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Put a spacer between the generator and the tower, about 3 or 4 feet would be enough to get it high above the head level. Make a tripod out of 3 large pipes to winch the whole mechanism up while you put the spacer in. A little bit of work, but well worth it, you don't want to decapitate anybody with that thing.

    • @d.e.7467
      @d.e.7467 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The height concerns me too. There's no way without heavy equipment that they can add height. One of those wood fences should do the trick.

    • @BigFireDave
      @BigFireDave 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@d.e.7467 There is a way but almost impossible without a good sized tractor or skid steer or something. Cut down 3 big trees in the area down by the tree house, drag them up to where the tower is and stand them up like a teepee and use a block and tackle to raise the tower and place the generator and the blades in place. But then getting the tripod down would be really tricky without damaging the windmill.

    • @d.e.7467
      @d.e.7467 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BigFireDave Oh, I didn't mean to imply it's impossible. Just infeasible, mostly. And risky, safety-wise. I also like the idea of the high tech device protected by a tried and true old school fence. The irony would please me. Which just occurred to me that aside from a person accidentally walking into it in the dark, one of those cows might hit it. Unless they're too short.

      My thought on a fence, it would block some of the wind defeating the purpose of the windmill.

    In the old westerns, you always saw a windmill on the farms....usually to pump water. Hook a generator to that gizmo and you get free electricity. ...a smart thing to do.

    Hello from South Florida. Fantastic job getting the wind turbine installed. Can't wait to see the power output. Looking at it all together, I want it to be taller. It seems there should be another section added to put the blades up more out of head striking range. Keep going! Looks great.

    I’m Michigan, the windmills are massive and huge. They took beautiful farm land and covered it with HUNDREDS of windmills.
    At first they look cool. And then you realize the beauty they took.

    I’m from Tennessee and work with a bunch of people from California on conference calls. Over five years ago, a co-worker (from Alabama) and I were to do a presentation, in person at a company meeting in California where most of our group are located. I said we should do it in a southern accent (like we would have to try to sound southern). He said we just should talk normally, we already sound southern. So that is what we did, just speak normal. I just wasn’t thinking like that. Everyone I spoke to individually after that meeting commented about my accent. Still today, many co-workers still comment they know it’s me on the phone, because of my accent. Now the guy from Boston who worked with me in Nashville for a few years, he definitely had an accent. With that said, Y’all have a good day!

    I'm living in a motorhome since 3 years. It's really enough. Get's smaller and smaller in the winter time here in Portugal. I want more space and a bigger kitchen, with more workespace. Can't wait til you hook that Bad DAD up. Wanna see how much power it generates for you. You might have to build a chicken wire fence around it so it doesn't suck up any of your chickens or other birds. I think that was one of the down sides I have heard about windmills. But in general I am with you, I think they are cool looking. And that style has an artistic flair to it. Maybe you could paint something on the blades and it will look like the old time kalidascope things when it spins.🤪🌬️🌀

I tried living in Puerto Rico in February 2019 after I was rejected for a work visa in Colombia in 2017 and could only put up the stress for 1 year 7 months. Back in the great pacific northwest starting over, again.

    In the UK, 13 minutes of midday sunlight exposure during summer three times per week is enough to maintain healthy levels among Caucasian adults (5Trusted Source).
    Another study found that 30 minutes of midday summer sun exposure in Oslo, Norway was equivalent to consuming 10,000-20,000 IU of vitamin D (8Trusted Source).
    The commonly recommended daily dose of vitamin D is 600 IU (15 mcg) (3).
