Hi I just tested this build . In the video it is mentioned that adding multiple floor will increase XP/Loot, however it is said that it's optional and that the farm will work very well with only 1. This is very NOT true. If you want this farm to work properly and get lots of XP and loot, you will need to make at least 3 floors. Side note: It would have been really helpful to know how many blocks/items/etc. is needed at the start of the video, that way we don't have to go gather resources needed every time a new step comes up.
Yeah with one layer I think i've gotten one mob a night. I don't think I'm gonna spend the time to test 3 floors. Sounds like a waste of time. Super impressive farm.
For those xomplaining lemme break down mob mechanics in Bedrock: 1) Sim 4 equals 44 blocks plus render distance means you either A build it 110 blocks above the ground or B build it on the ground then spend 10 hrs mob proofing caves. 2) Take biomes into consideration. Oceans that spawn only squids are easiest as these are passive mobs not hostile, and therefore do not affect it. 3) Since 1.21 all mob farms have to warm up be it 1Up's, Oink Oink's, or anyone else. Ie you literally have to afk at least 3 nights. 4) TK is not required, it just makes it easier because Bedrock does not *yet* have offhand. You can however play whack a mole with your shovel if you so desire, just put slabs on the upper block point of where the afk point is in the TK observers and be careful to not be seen by creepers.
Correct! I had to take mine down, and rebuild way up in the sky for it to work. I also had to make four layers to get a good amount of XP/loot. It took a really long time in survival, but it's working :)
This farm works great! Just make sure you 1) build it above 150 2) build 4 waffle levels 3) only put the trap doors that are in the holes and on the edges, don't place the ones on block tops 4) place an oak trap door on the slab by the trident killer and close it, that way the spiders won't escape and you'll still get the xp.
Hii ty sm for the video. For those that are trying to build this; if you’re going to build over land go at least 100 blocks away from any mountains and 130 blocks up. I also built three levels to this and its working great. Another thing too is you don’t really need the trapdoors in top of the platforms. I hope this helps!! ❤
This farm works at least a well for levels as a Dungeon spawner (unless you manage to find more than a double Dungeon, I'd say) if you take the advice someone listed below and leave the anti-Spider spawning Trapdoors off the surfaces of the platforms. The comparable rates combined with the wide variety of loot makes it worth the effort for me. I built it 100% true the instruction in the video initially and then waited many in-game days (hours IRL) for it to warm up, as is also stated below, but the rates were miserable. When I went back in and removed the horizontal Trapdoors the mob spawn/fall rate immediately and dramatically increased. I also used the TK from Silentwisperer's most recent Creeper farm, but set it up to just have a Water stream push the mobs to a front corner of the fall chamber, where I set up the Trapdoor and Trident so that I didn't need to mess with the Minecart and Activator Rail. I rigged up a single Hopper to catch everything with a Trapdoor beside it to block the water from coming out. The Baby Zombies also get trapped over the Hopper where I can whack'em, and the Spiders wind up being the biggest hurdle. You can leave enough room to reach them manually, or you can place Magma Blocks as part of the drop chamber floor, which will get them eventually, after which your backup of mobs will all reach the TK. If you have Impaling V on it almost anything that touches it is a 1-shot, with a few instances of 2-shots due to armor. I'm hoping the Magma Blocks will result in Fire Res's from Witches, which has worked in the past. My setup has the drop chamber floor normal blocks with a Water Source in one corner, two Magma Blocks under the drop chamber wall that you AFK station is at, then the new TK one block out from the Magma Blocks. This keeps the other mobs from getting to the Magma Blocks too early. At sim distance 6 I built 6 platform levels all within my spawning range, which I mapped out with Foxy Notail's Armor Stand mod. After using it for a while I tried to replicate taking advantage of surface spawns by making the top layer of the farm out of Leaf Blocks as in Silentwisperer's big split-density general mob farm from a couple of years ago (which still works), though I honestly can't tell if it's made a difference. Good luck. Update: I just got some Pillagers in the farm, so you can add their banners, Crossbows, and Ominous Potions to the loot table. Update II: Received a Fire Res from Witch, so the farm's a valid source for those.
@@DieselFuel1310 Yeah, at 6 levels I feel like it's easily faster than a single spawner farm. I put leaves over the chunk I aligned the spawn platforms to, but again, can't say for sure that it improves rates without a good comparison.
Just built this. The main problem with it is that the mobs spawn and then don’t walk off the waffle platforms because they get stuck between the spiderproof trap doors. If you delete all the trapdoors on the top face of each platform, the mobs spawn faster and walk off more frequently. Also, spiders will spawn but they help push the mobs off the platforms, increasing the yield of the farm.

Mobs spawn via subchunks so the more layers you add to a farm on bedrock the more mobs will spawn therefore increasing the rates. Any sort of coral fan does what trapdoors do but better.and you can replace the trapdoors ontop of the spawn platform with buttons and its infinitely better. Theres a lot of things this farm lacks imo
Does the subchunk spawning mean that there's no benefit to aligning the spawning platforms so that for a given level each one of the four are in separate chunks? If it would increase rates I figure that we could align the AFK spot with those four corners and offset the mob drop, which shouldn't matter since they're going into the TK anyway.
@@TheKingofkrypton the reason why you want them in the same chunk is that if a mob spawns on one platform itll also spawn on every other platform in the same subchunk in the same spot just a different y access. They spawn vertically via subchunks.
@@TheAveryZay Ah, so when they spawn in a spot on one platform they spawn in the same spot on all the same platforms in the column of platforms? I’m not new to Minecraft, but new to making farms without the actually mob spawner item.. at first this didn’t work at all after following the video carefully. I took one look at the comments and rebuilt it in new location and it’s working. With one level of “waffle” platforms it’s extremely slow, maybe 2 or 3 mobs per minute it varies. I’m going to make more platforms soon. It’s a shame the video doesn’t exactly explain all the details tho wasted so much time the first time around. Find relatively flat ground near sea level away from mountains and go quite high up, the afk spot by the chest for me is at y214 so I’m assuming the 150 blocks above ground is very important - thankyou comment section!
@@Bradwadebruh22 its probably because its too low to the ground so mobs are spawning in caves instead of the farm. You need to build it 110 blocks above the ground or 110 blocks above an ocean so that mobs can only spawn in the farm
This works for me on Bedrock, but I had to build a platform 4 blocks below the chest to afk at as I think I was too close for the mobs to spawn. I was over an ocean and at Y97 with only one level and seemed to a get a few mobs/min Edit: I don’t think the lower platform is what fixed it, I think the mob farm needed some time to activate as others have stated. I think it just so happened that it took me 3 nights to try out the lower platform
A fall of 23 blocks should kill all mobs that this farm generates, so you'll need something to slow them down. It's surprising that so many of them are going off the corners into the central fall column, though; I'd expect that to be a negligible amount. Most of them should fall to the water and be carried to the central fall column. I suppose you could eliminate the Trapdoors from the inner corners of each level's quadrants, by which I mean the two Trapdoors on the corner of each square that points to the central fall column. They shouldn't have enough momentum from the next Trapdoor edge farther away from the column to reach it. Mobs might get stuck on that corner block, but it still may be a net gain.
I really have to remember to read the comments before watching the video. Most people say it doesn't work, so I'm not going to waste all those materials to find out myself.
took me less than an hour to make and works pretty well - buidl it exactly how he says but go WAYYYY INTO THE SKY when you do it. im tlaking just climb and put ladders to narnia and then create your chest area and then build up and do the mob spawner. I just did this and this works, however you will need to afk for a while to level up a bit, would also have Been helpful if you showed how many and what materials we needed.😊
Just built this, standing platform is y 125, might be too low. I’ve explored many caves below it and lit a decent area around it (over plains) and best I can get it to work is a few mobs every few minutes at night only, even though I can’t see any light spots in the chamber. There was a slight line above the stairs so I did a double rim and that blocked it. I also removed the spider blocking trap doors and the middle door is cobble to try and improve rate. Any suggestions welcome! I am trying to find an x ray glitch so I can see where more caves are too, no luck.
Ok so running this currently for a couple days now. But it seems a lot of the xp is getting lost instead coming to me. Is there a way to fix this? Drops are great. Just having an issue with the xp. Any advise would be greatly appreciated
Don't above ground Mob Farms not work on Bedrock? Because Hostile Mobs can't spawn on the Surface during the day or whatever? Hence why you can't make an og xp farm
I found some Tridents in a Trial Chamber normal Chest (not Trial Chamber locked chest), so you could always try to Mission Impossible a couple of them up.
Covering it should only affect the top layer, which would be getting the surface spawns. If you only had one layer it should have converted that to getting cave spawns since it's covered. You may have to wait until it warms up (as some people above have pointed out about immediately after building it) a second time after the change.

This videos kind of messed up what you wanna do is make the whole thing the same but at least 50 blocks above the ground so caves and the ground doesn’t lower your spawn rate, they’re probably spawning on the ground and in caves
You can easily just make a drop down spot to one hit them with your sword. I can't remember how many to make them 1 hit, but I'm sure Google would tell you. I made one of these a few updates ago with 2 layers and I did it without the trident farm. Just make sure the creepers and stuff can't see you so you don't get blown up lol
did you block the third layer up on the outside where the stairs are? i blocked the outside stairs same time i build the stairs so i wouldnt block the wrong part. Mine works, im about to add 2 more layers, because 1 isnt enough.
Depending on your version/edition, the main problem is where the mobs spawn and chunk distance simulation. It's recommended to play at lesser chunks so it will focus on more specifically which will be the most favorable obviously in the Mob Farm. You need to build it above the ocean or Y+200, due to the mountains that will mess up your favorable spawning rate. Plus torching all your nearby surroundings at least 100 blocks radius which is 4 chucks away is enough. If you are playing in Bedrock Edition, the spawn prioritizes higher Y-axis (height), so it's better to build a Mob Farm higher as possible. If in Java Edition, the hostile mob spawn prioritizes the lower Y-axis (height), so it's better to build it underground and make sure your surrounding chunks in caves or any dark place must be lightened up to decrease the unfavorable spawn rate. It's not simple to build a Mob Farm you first must understand how Hostile Mob Spawning, Chunk simulation, and Difficulty Loot Rates for an efficient and reliable Mob Farm.

this farm does work but, you have to build the waffles above y 150, secondly you need to build the four layers, thirdly use slaps as a roof, good luck
Thank you for these vids!
mine works, however, i feel like the spiders are screwing me over because sometimes it takes a while for mobs to drop down
I built it and it dosent work… why is that? I built it to a T
Bro it don’t work for me neither
@@Bradwadebruh22 its probably because its too low to the ground so mobs are spawning in caves instead of the farm. You need to build it 110 blocks above the ground or 110 blocks above an ocean so that mobs can only spawn in the farm
Are you guys on PC? I'm thinking of trying bedrock
@@thecheyneosaurus16 bedrock can be on pc
@alcodlin828 I learn something everyday cheers
Simple, cheap. love it ❤
This works for me on Bedrock, but I had to build a platform 4 blocks below the chest to afk at as I think I was too close for the mobs to spawn. I was over an ocean and at Y97 with only one level and seemed to a get a few mobs/min
Edit: I don’t think the lower platform is what fixed it, I think the mob farm needed some time to activate as others have stated. I think it just so happened that it took me 3 nights to try out the lower platform
Don't waste your time. Didn't get anything for 10 minutes
whn i place redstone torches on pistons it only makes one round and destroys torches :c
same w me
Are you maybe playing on PC? Let us know
It is spawning mobs for me but the mobs spawning above the first floor are falling to their death and not giving xp. Am I missing something?
I have all four floors and it works well, but I could be getting more xp if so many weren’t falling to their death
@@TheKingofkrypton I’m going to try that, thanks
I really have to remember to read the comments before watching the video. Most people say it doesn't work, so I'm not going to waste all those materials to find out myself.
I made the mistake lmao
took me less than an hour to make and works pretty well - buidl it exactly how he says but go WAYYYY INTO THE SKY when you do it. im tlaking just climb and put ladders to narnia and then create your chest area and then build up and do the mob spawner. I'm too close to other mobs, about to 'rebuild it' even higher.
I just did this and this works, however you will need to afk for a while to level up a bit, would also have Been helpful if you showed how many and what materials we needed.😊
I love your vids, they’re so helpful 🔥
Quick Question: Will the trident lose durability during the mob killing or will it be fine?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated
does it work best if you place it in the middle of four chunks?
This looks very similar to a gunpowder farm. nice
Donnelly a good TH-camr all you’re build are working
Don't above ground Mob Farms not work on Bedrock? Because Hostile Mobs can't spawn on the Surface during the day or whatever? Hence why you can't make an og xp farm
They can spawn anywhere dark anytime. Think of it like going into a cave during the day. You're just making a cave in the sky for them to spawn in

How much xp do you get and how long do you have to be afk
Do you need a trident or can you use whatever?
The trident is the piston
u could kill them yourself it just wouldn’t be automatic
1:05 Hmm this piston shape looks familiar 💀
Nazis lol
It doesn’t work for me, is it because I used netherack or does that not matter
that does not matter
I built three levels and it's still painfully slow. Please help me make it more efficient.
So I built this farm above a frozen ocean high up in the sky and skeletons or strays are the only mobs not spawning…
Same problem but built it above a mountain
Do i need to yse the trident thing can i just manually kill them because i cant be bothered to find a trident drowned
You can manually kill them if you want but I wouldn’t recommend since creepers can blow you up tridents are better plus it allows you to afk
I found some Tridents in a Trial Chamber normal Chest (not Trial Chamber locked chest), so you could always try to Mission Impossible a couple of them up.
I built this farm and it works until i covered it, does somebody know why?
Covering it should only affect the top layer, which would be getting the surface spawns. If you only had one layer it should have converted that to getting cave spawns since it's covered. You may have to wait until it warms up (as some people above have pointed out about immediately after building it) a second time after the change.
Why aren’t the mobs spawning at all in my bedrock world ?
Can u use dirt instead of cobble
built it on bedrock(ps5) and doesn’t work😃👍🏼

Hi, i just have a question why is the trident needed?
It kills the mobs automaticly
in bedrock mob spawns are capped lower than java
the faster the mobs die the faster new ones can spawn
trident automatically kills the mobs while still producing experience but you do not have to use the trident method if you dont mind spam clicking the mobs
@@BEWMdeadquestion, every time I throw the trident, the hooper pick it up. I then tried replacing the hoppers with cobblestone and the trident just stays in one place and doesn’t move around…

Does it take a while for the mobs to spawn or did I just do it wrong?

Its one of many problems but i cant figure out why its not working
It’s not spawning any mobs for me, I’m AFK at 120, I got 5 floors done exactly as it is in the video, trident killer working perfectly fine but no mobs…?

do the tridents need mending ?
Im already 75% done and i just realized i dont have a trident..

Some of y’all haven’t changed your settings to actually render this. If y’all walk too far from it nothing will spawn.
How i do it?
How do u do it on bedrock

That means the dimensions of your platform where the mobs spawn is off, it needs to be perfect.
Idk if it’s just me, but I built mine over the ocean and, nothings spawning inside, am I missing something? (I followed the instructions)
Is it day time? Cuz from what I've heard Mob Farms don't work during the Day on Bedrock
Same I think it’s the day and night cycle only really working for me at night
if it doesn’t work during day then you probably have light shining through your farm
okay i want to let everyone that this does work but with the spawn rate its not the greatest. what i did to improve it was simply not adding the spider proof trap doors yes it might give u spiders here and there but it works so much better.. the spawn rate also works better in my opinion if you do over ocean. if u have any other ways to improve please comment below
whn i place redstone torches on pistons it only makes one round and destroys torches :c

@@camo7452same
@@camo7452 make sure you follow the video and put the observers facing each piston and that each piston has a space between them. i would just recommend not using the redstone contraptions because its only needed if u want it to auto which is not necessary for a xp farm unless u do it for piglins and u can get gold/xp

Why do we have to throw a trident?
Why is nothing sponing
same
So, i made this farm and not 1 mob spawned, it was on normal difficulty and i did every step correctly. What do i do?
This videos kind of messed up what you wanna do is make the whole thing the same but at least 50 blocks above the ground so caves and the ground doesn’t lower your spawn rate, they’re probably spawning on the ground and in caves
@@nosmok3alr thanks but do i restart the whole farm
@@nosmok3I did it at 120 and nothing is spawning
Do you have to make it automatic or can i kill the mobs myself
You can easily just make a drop down spot to one hit them with your sword. I can't remember how many to make them 1 hit, but I'm sure Google would tell you. I made one of these a few updates ago with 2 layers and I did it without the trident farm. Just make sure the creepers and stuff can't see you so you don't get blown up lol

No. The game considers it a single throw

Guys im pretty sure i did everything right but no mob spawned yet. Does anyone know what could be the problem?
I dont know
did you block the third layer up on the outside where the stairs are? i blocked the outside stairs same time i build the stairs so i wouldnt block the wrong part.
I am in mountain area what to do😢😢??
