    I’ve been traveling through Thailand, the last three weeks. I have decided not to bargain with anyone because from my home country the currency here is extremely cheap. I’m not rich man in the United States, but I can easily afford Thai prices without bargaining. It makes me happy to be able to support local thais and be an ecotourist

      U can bargain and still live good the fact that all of u are trying to live luxury just because things are cheaper doesn’t make any sense because u aren’t lowering your cost of living that way🤔.

    I think that tourists who behave badly, behave the same way in their own country. I went to Thailand right before the pandemic and the majority of tourists who were yelling, speaking loudly, and hogging places taking 10 minutes to take a photo, not caring they were blocking something scenic were not western tourists. They were so irritating that I filmed their yelling and screaming at Wat Pho. The people who wear bikinis and swim shorts in a mall are the same people who do it in their own country. I've seen them walking barefoot, sometimes wet or with sand on them walking around. They don't think they are being disrespectful, so they don't think they have to change their behavior while on vacation. Thanks for the reminders though.

    # 00 It is very important for everyone to respect their currency. The currency in Thailand, both paper and coin, bears a portrait of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej or a deceased relative. What is the good area to stay in while in Bangkok

  • @quackersna
    @quackersna ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Could you recommend a good resource for looking for housing. I would like to visit for 3-6 months, so a hotel is probably more expensive. I'm not really interested in renting a condo in a luxury highrise. I would much rather rent a house in a traditional neighborhood with regular families. Is there a good resource for this?

    • @TheSamuiman
      @TheSamuiman ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You may find this option only in the well known tourist destinations... and are usually rather costly, run by foreigners! Try a bungalow style rental option... owned by locals!

    • @quackersna
      @quackersna ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheSamuiman yes, that would be much more in line with what I would like, and preferably in an area that is a little more provincial and less filled with tourists.

    And…whatever you do don’t disrespect the King. I’ve helped stories of a bill disagreement when the client threw money on the floor. Since the bills have the Kings picture, they got beat up (a little).

    1:45 True. Do not stay cheap. But a 5 star hotel is not $30/night. $300/night is more like it. The hotel you're in is a 1 star, maybe 2.

But if you'd like an example, Le Meridien in Chiang Mai is a 5-star hotel with rooms at around $150-$160 available at the moment. The Landmark in Bangkok has rooms for around $170 as does Lebua, both also 5-star hotels.

      @@johnnielson4341 I knew you were looking for an excuse to argue whether a particular hotel was indeed a 5-star establishment. A lame argument I'm afraid and one that doesn't address the other hotels I mentioned, presumably because they aren't just down the road from Nana so you have no idea of their existence? Not to mention the fact that The Landmark is rated as a 5-star hotel and the fact you disagree with the rating is largely irrelevant.
