I have the Jerusalem Bible in my language and I have to say the translation seems to be slightly different. As far as I can remember, translated to English it would read: When they saw Him, they bowed to Him, and some of them doubted.
Can you please tell me why the Jurusalem translation reads 'work for your salvation....' whereas In nearly all other translations it reads 'work out your salvation....'? Philippians 2:12. I heard that the Jurusalem translation is one of the top 3 translations in terms of closeness to word for word. Apparently here in England, if you quote the King James bible in University the Tutor can't accept it.
Thanks For The Review! The original JB was of note to some because JRR Tolkein was one of the translators. The wording in the JB is interesting, but I think the NJB is a little dumbed down. The RNJB? What ever... I found back in the 1990s, Pv 20 was messed up in both the JB & NJB. I have the BIG RED edition of the original JB with illustrations by Salvadore Dali. The original JB translation was both interesting and problematic because it was really a translation of a French translation that was then (somewhat) corrected with the Hebrew & Greek. The JB & NJB use unusual words like "WADI" for river, which can be more accurate, as a wadi is a river that is dry most of the year. I became interested in the JB Translation again because a book titled "10 Books Every Conservative Must Read" had the JB Translation of the Bible as one of the "10 Books..." It's really 10 books every Catholic must read... I am not Catholic... I think the JB is more like the Living Bible: of interest as a commentary. I think the New Jerusalem Bible (& probably the RNJB) is less useful as a commentary. IMHO
Revised Jerusalem Bible isn't that a Catholic Bible with Apocrypha Tobit,Judith,I and 2 Maccabees, interesting.I wonder if 2 Peter 3:9 has do penance instead of repent. When I was still Roman Catholic I read the Douay Rheims but you know for me its just a collection of religious stories. When I got saved reading the KJV I believed the Bible is the Word of God and have to read it everyday for my spiritual growth.
Well they maybe religious books but not from God. They’re pseudo epigraphy, they have contradictions and ultimately denies God’s word. The apocryphal books are demonic.
The KJV “bible” is a incomplete mess. The Catholic Bible is the correct and COMPLETE version. Abandon the heresy of protestantism and return home to the true faith. You have placed your soul in terrible jeopardy.

JRR Tolkien generally "oversaw" literary quality; his only translation was Jonah.

@@diegovalleperez3360 Right. These "Bibles" I'm sure are being published to counter the evangelistic efforts to reach Catholics for Christ.
Most probably
With respect, the 7th Ecumenical Council clearly defined which books are canonical.
