Hey KD! So, Surat just opened its first IMAX multiplex under Rajhans Cinemas, and it's a big deal since it's the first IMAX by Rajhans in India! It would be awesome if you could swing by Surat, Gujarat, and check out all their screens, seating, sound, interior, and projector. This way, we can figure out if it's really worth our money or just a cash grab, especially since Surat hasn't had a real IMAX PVR before. The locals might not even know what to expect from IMAX screens. Plus, we’ll get an honest review of Rajhans IMAX. Thanks!
I remember getting introduced to nuances of IMAX and cinemas in general through your tweets. This was right before Oppenheimer was released and as a Nolan fan i naturally chose to experience Oppenheimer in IMAX Laser to have the best possible experience and boy did it deliver. Mindblowing stuff. A seat bang in the middle. The film itself had very suboptimal audio experience so not the best judge for how it was in the theatre but the viewing experience was top notch. Going to be very selective about what movies I watch there coz the grandiose aspect of it should remain that way, don't want it to be normalized for me. Anyway good stuff man, looking forward to some 3d content.
The video felt very satisfying because you had quite a lot of inside footage, thanks for that. Despite of the 11min length, it felt smooth with the narration. You did cover the important point of this screen being narrow but played very safe not to hurt any sentiments of Lower Parel fans 😂, smart move. Seats here look so good! Coming to your video, the colors in this video looked so good and bright in HDR HLG. The setup and your beard look is also very professional. Superb.

I was shaken when some absolute bangers by Ludwig Göransson were playing.. what an experience man.. even when it was the most confusing movie that it was, I thoroughly enjoyed it...

I didn't had good experience sitting in the back rows though I was in the perfect middle seat, infact I was surprised when u said lower parel which gave me a better viewing & sound experience (it being shorter in length & breadth with direct line of view helps)has its screen smaller than lower parel

One of the best theaters I have visited to date. I have watched Dune: Part 1, Avatar: The Way of Water(HFR looked great on this screen), Oppenheimer, and last year's Interstellar rerelease here. It had the infamous gray box behind the screen issue when I watched Dune: Part 1, but they later fixed it. Someone whos been to all IMAX in mumbai, this and the Wadala one is my go to IMAXes. The BKC one is second best. The rest are just standard Xenon ones which i stay away from. Also slight correction the seats here are actually 572 in count. Agree the theatre feels more scope than actual flat ratio of what IMAX should be that because of how the auditorium is build. Also, because of the lower roof height it makes the AUDI less steeper, the bottom half of the screen gets blocked by people's heads if you're sitting in the back rows, and it’s even worse there. Best seats are centre seats in H row.

Yes I’ll be visiting Wadala IMAX on Jan 20th! I feel the “LieMax” term is very arbitrary. All my visits to IMAXes have been to 1.90:1 venues only but a lot of them are 4K Laser. And a bunch of them are 2K Xenon but bigger than a lot of 1.43 70mm theatres used to be! @@KDCloudy most of the "LieMAX" claims are from people not getting their money's worth. Theaters are charging IMAX prices but they are not getting the full IMAX experience. IDK if this is just corporate greed or cinephile elitism. What's your say on this though?
Even though PVR seems to be comfortably charging like ₹1,000-4,000 for some of their most expensive cinema tiers, we still haven't got a commercial 70mm IMAX theatre that plays the latest 70mm IMAX movies in India 😕. I don't know how the United Kingdom's BFI IMAX in London is thriving but we still haven't got a 70mm IMAX in India yet although PVR is comfortably able to charge like thousands of rupees for one of their most expensive and luxurious tiers available. Btw, if a commercial 70mm IMAX theatre FINALLY launches in India, you'd be running like a bullet train to reach there, right? 😉
U had the opportunity to first experience IMAX in Singapore and then in other countries, and I have to say, the IMAX screens in India are small “comparatively”
I have recently been hoping to different screens across bangalore to find the best possible screen, and to my suprise there is a single screen threatre in bangalore called victory cinemas, it has the best screen I have ever seen although not in size, but the quality of projection and I have been to more than 20 shows across bangalore in a month and nothing comes closer to it, the colours, brightness and even the sound quality is amazing.. Do review it once you are in bangalore.

@@KDCloudy Watch a movie like Spider-Verse or Dune with amazing HDR or popping colors. Or a space movie with real blacks (Interstellar unfortunately is not pure black) like The Moon. CoLa has superior contrast. Sound depends on the theater but I found Palladium to be the loudest on all occasions, XT has optional 6 channel but CoLa is always 12ch. The staff don't know. I will watch Interstellar in all 4 Mumbai laser locations to confirm. Last time when Interstellar was showing, only Palladium was laser. One that that doesn't help the new laser locations is the obnoxious blue lighting on the stairs and exits, some are partially fixed after lots of complaints but you could absolutely see a blue hue in the INOX laser halls.
Whatever imax al those are just laser digital one ,csnt ever match with true 70mm imax ,i miss it lot which was in prasads imax Hyderabad back in 2014 😢.
IMHO, 3D generally is like an unpleasant & outdated tech for the following reasons 1) All Home based TVs and Projectors do active pair of glasses which are clunky and heavy. 2) All Commercial Movie theaters have passive 3D glasses which have few scratches if you are unlucky. Bottom line - the brightness component is significantly reduced due to 3D usage (close to 50%). The color accuracy is far stretch (no professional calibrates with 3D glasses being considered)
I saw Oppenheimer, mission impossible 6 and animal in this theatre and I feel ghatkopar imax is better, you can't tell the difference between this laser imax and regular imax, the curvature of the screen is too much in the middle it distorts the image in the middle top, the seats are very close to eachother and there is less height difference between each row of seats ,so if you are not tall heads might obstruct your veiw, and it's so crowded and has a lager capacity that regular imax, people still keep coming after the movie started and it's so distracting ,after interval also there will be huge line for snacks because the large capacity of the theatre, also the staff coming again and again to give snacks is distracting, the crowd is so huge so staff comes in a lot of time to give snacks running, they many times cast their shadows on the screen or obstruct your view

Recently In the surat launch IMAX screen idk how big ?? but Rajhans cinemas really good work on Rajhans Precia (IMAX)
I live in Bangalore currently and have been meaning to check it out!
@@KDCloudy Please do check and make sure you dont sit too far behind, somehwere in the I to G row would be optimal, seats are not good and even it obstructs the views if someone tall sits in front, but the screen and projection is the best!
Miraj IMAX review pls

Yes! Biggest PVR lobby I’ve ever visited. Wish Logix lobby had video walls.

Review Pune IMAX Laser theatre
What about inox megaplex imax pune
Might visit this year
@ its also a laser imax and yes it has great sound don’t know about the dimensions
Bhai 2D screen aur best quality wala theatre konsa hai ?
Jio world , BKC.
INOX MegaPlex , Malad.
cinepolis , SEAWOODS.
Viviana, Thane .
It's Mumbai, Correct it.
When Hyderabad will get an IMAX screen? Before 2047?
Hyderabad has Prasads PCX screen. TBH except for the aspect ratio of 1.90: 1, this is by far the best screen in India, 67x101 ft largest screen in India with dual 4K laser projection and Dolby atmos. regarding aspect ratio, they can project 1.85:1 (close to 1.90:1) for standard DCPs.
@@happysoul02 1.90:1 for a few Hollywood releases only. Whereas IMAX format is specially pictured using IMAX cameras with the resolution..
Every time a Hollywood release is scheduled and screened, have to check out 1.90:1 or not..
I mean what is the point of buying a 75 Inch TV, when you don't have 4k, qled, HDR & DV... & Without 4k content ..
Very nice video
Thank you!!
But the screen is tiny
Hey brother
It's a request to change the thumbnail and make a correction it's "MUMBAI" for sure and not Bombay
Idk if u are new in here but I hope u will make an effort to change it
Anyways nice video
Waiting for interstellar to come to imax in January in India
Fingers crossed
Best IMAX Theatre to watch Interstellar movie in Mumbai
Wadala
The IMAX CoLa projector and sound system in the Palladium IMAX is far superior to the newer, cheaper IMAX XT Laser projectors.
Any particular observations?
I am interested in 3D, i have a 3D Projector
Normal theatre me n IMAX me kya farak hota hai????
Big screen, super sound, more clarity
Ok
Whatever imax al those are just laser digital one ,csnt ever match with true 70mm imax ,i miss it lot which was in prasads imax Hyderabad back in 2014 😢.
Please call 'Mumbai' not the Bombay

Koramangala IMAX sucks
@KDCloudy make a video about pxl theatre
Its mumbai not bombay, bombay was pronnounced by british
It's Mumbai, not bombay.
IMHO, 3D generally is like an unpleasant & outdated tech for the following reasons
1) All Home based TVs and Projectors do active pair of glasses which are clunky and heavy.
