Hurray!!! Is the pilot figure included or did you have to get it aftermarket? If aftermarket...where? I think jets should be modeled airborn, so I need a pilot inside " flying it"!!!
It's a wonderful build. Before watching this video, I was thinking of making an F35b with a pedestal, but the BEAST mode of the 35a is cool, so I would definitely use it as a reference.😊
Thank you always for your comment! Yes I also thought of building this in frying mode because this is stealth jet. But looking at the beast mode, I could not help choosing it😊
Thank you so much your comment! Yes, I’m always impressed by TAMIYA engineering, how small their tolerance is. Almost all parts are perfect fit!! I love TAMIYA kit😍
Thank you for your comment! I apply cross coat before decal and after decal, then finish with mat clear coat. Because if we apply mat coat too much, mat element sink in the bottom and start grossing. I hope I answered your question if not please let me know, thanks!
Sometimes it helps to bring the color out. I’ll put a layer of buff underneath where I’m going to use yellow. Helps the yellow look right. Similarly a lot of people put pink under red to get a proper looking red. There’s also primer, but that’s to help see imperfections and to help the paint grab onto the plastic.
It's very rarely completely covered, by airbrushing you can easily control how much of the underlying paint shows through, allowing you to layer effects. Different primer coats tend to affect the top coat in unique ways too, to add vibrancy and depth (for instance a brown primer) or contrast and easy coverage (black basing). In the end it really depends on the desired end result
Thank you for your comment and compliments! I really appreciate. Yes decal was a big job for F35. I took me almost three full days during year end holidays:)
Beautifully done! I was shocked to see the HL “Hill Air Force base” as you rarely see modeler’s use it. I live in the flight path of these and see them daily.
When I was building aircraft almost exclusively, this plane wasn't even someone's wet dream yet! I dont think Tamiya was around,or at least available, when I was doing planes. I've never built one of their kits, but I'm always impressed by the details and fit! I would love to see them tool up some semi truck models,to the same level they take these aircraft models!!
I love the use of cotton buds, like picking out edge highlights and weathering. Something even beginner modellers without all the fancy equipment can do
Awsome work! Truly inspiring. Thank you for taking the time to film your work and sharing it with us! Filming and editing is just as much work as making the model. Thank you!
Thank YOU so much for comment..that means a lot to me. Yes filming and editing sometimes very difficult to find time to do so. But your comment motivated me a lot… appreciated it!👍
Superb video, thank you. So the Tamiya F35 kits is something brand new in the modelling genre - Most model kits are detailed plastic kits that include some decals to apply for the finishing touches. This Tamiya kit its a set of decals ... a big set of decals, that also comes with some handy plastic parts to finish off the decals with.
Thank you for your comment!! Yes there were bunch of decals which covers most part of fuselage. Also many clear parts with micro size masking and creates blight look of reflections. Amazing kit. Loved it!
What engineers of Lockheed Martin didn't do, the Tamiya's engineers did it. Despite being such an ugly plane, Tamiya add their touch of magical beauty, in every minimum detail, and the "Saint's Hand" of Platoki, makes the difference. With a superb and awesome skills of Platoki we have a "beautyful" F-35. Máster Modeller Platoki......I salute you, from Guatemala, The Land of Quetzal Bird, Símbol of Freedom.
The fit on these Tamiya kits is absolutely amazing. Pieces really come with each other so smooth and snug. Perfect molds, excellent details, whatever the product (tools, glues, paints, kits) there is a constant quality. Know that I am not sponsored by the brand at all. I wish I could 😊excellent work on this kit. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for your comment! I am always impressed by the quality of TAMIYA kit, and engineering. Parts Fitting and surface qualities of any parts are amazing. I appreciate how much effort Tamiya put to develop the model like this!!😁 Again, thanks for your word, that really motivates me to create another video 👍
Absolutely amazing! I was totally transfixed watching the model evolve. The attention to detail is fantastic. Thanks for sharing. Derek, Halkirk. Scottish Highlands.
감사합니다! Thank you for your comment and compliment! Yes TAMIYA quality simply impressive. Appreciated:) by the way, my wife can read Korean so she translated it for me!

Thank you for your comment! My favorite is F15 since I have a lot of memories with my dad but after researching those fifth generation fighter jet, I now become big fun of it
Show!!! Me inspirou a montar o meu... tenho um Hasegawa que está esperando faz anos na bancada.. Acabei comprando também um trio da Airfix com um Zero e um P-40 juntos....Mais uma vez parabéns
What an amazing job you do. What dedication you give to each piece of the assembly. I really congratulate you and I am a new follower of your channel. Greetings from Chile
My mom worked on the F-35 development. Part of her responsibility was to address any small parts that could potentially break loose, like a rivet or nut, and turn into a bullet tearing through the pilot or causing havoc to other parts of the plane. They would watch blackbox cockpit footage of crashes from around the world (F-16s usually 1 per month) and see if they could learn anything. Meaning sometimes they'd see a pilot penetrated by some tiny piece of steel before the footage, and their life, would end. Also I have a bunch of models I got over quarantine and I stopped when I realized I wasn't painting them right. I need an airbrush, any suggestions?
Thank you for your comment! Wow that’s so cool..sounds like lots of confidential work. I’m so interested in how hvac work an black box. As to modeling, tha most important thing for me is to enjoy. So what ever we do, paint that’s fine. Let me share one channel who use only blush for model. There are plants of ways to enjoy:) th-cam.com/video/yhqbmA0nY-8/w-d-xo.html
Very nice model set. I'll tell you what you did wrong. 1.The rocket and bomb bay and the wheel bay white in color and not light gray. 2. Because of the stealth mode, the F-35 fighters do not have plain clear plexiglass. All plexiglass has a gold mist coating. 3. The sticker on the pilot seat that imitates seat belts is terribly ugly. I don't even understand why they were needed, once you also put the pilot in the seat? 4. The tapes labeled "remove before flight" are removed even before the pilot sits in the cockpit. It goes without saying. So there is no such thing as the pilot sitting inside and the tapes still up. 5. It's easier to apply the stickers if you spray the model with glossy varnish beforehand. 6. Paneling is also easier if you apply another layer of glossy varnish after applying the stickers. That's about it.
That's a nice done work!. Being such a detailed and well engineered model, I think Tamiya well could add some photoedge for the seat belts instead of a couple decals as well as for the missils wings and fins. That would give a more realistic look for that scale.
