Pt1: AWD warning light on! Slow engagement of rear on 2011 kia sportage. Fixed in other video.

This is Pt 1 of this story. AWD warning light would come on just after leaving home, then go off later. Not every day, but more and more often.
Showing how the rear wheels did not turn when AWD Diff lock was turned on, with car jacked up off ground, until throttle was applied, and then it turned slowly only.
The yellow AWD light had come on intermittently, with no AWD codes showing until a couple of days ago, which was P1822 = pump for 4wd motor wire open load. In data history, it had also said P1830 = Clutch torque tolerance lower limit, but this has not stayed active and the car drives perfectly.

we can now see that all wheels are turning equally even at idle, (both with diff lock off and diff lock on btw) and showing where the 4 wiring loom plugs are near the rear diff, which I simply undid, cleaned with aerosol cleaner and sprayed with WD40 penetrating oil, and replugged. This has fixed the problem physically and explains well the intermittent nature of the AWD warning light coming on without a code, until as above, it has been staying on showing 'motor wire open load' . I have not yet put it back on a scanner yet, but the AWD has not come on and test drive on dirt with diff lock off then on confirms proper rear drive.

should work i just cleaned the two terminal at rear differential. mine and the AWD light went off.

My rear diff went and this was the
Issues anyway, had the rear diff flushed and found a lot of grey. Smelt burning plastic driving up mountains until it gave out

Was burning plastic smell wiring ??

@@zoltanp1967 not sure tbh, replaced rear diff and now it’s starting up again. Hard to tell if it’s like “Kia” faulty lemon awd system or if I just have a lemon. I fear it’s more than just me after seeing the same issues though with others.
I had the rear diff fluid changed as often as oil last year and it seemed to help a little. But every 10,000 miles vs 20-30 for a flush sounds off to me. Smells like I got plastic belts in my awd system that are burning up though, only going up steep incline, unfortunately for me I live in the “green mountain state” so tons of mountains 🙈😅
