Massive fan of Brayton, seems like an all around top lad. Him and Danny in my eyes are the peak of people who just love riding bikes. Great poddie, extremely easy and entertaining listen. Hats of to you both, was a very natural 1.5 hours well spent. Big up Marra!
Adam’s pace at the top of Hardline Wales was shockingly fast. Having watched all the quality runs I didn’t think it was possible to go that quick in the race run 🤯🤯🤯.
What a great bloke. Watched him for a few years now, ever since I say the video on TH-cam for the Hope Pro 4 hubs, his speed was mesmerising. Wishing him all the best for the last 2 rounds, and whatever happens in the future.
Love a bit of Gas to flat, you guys kept me company on my way down to the Ex Enduro on Thursday evening, a great listen, always interesting to hear about racing from the privateer side of things, I really hope his 2025 season goes well.
earlier this year i was watching some of Adam's youtube videos, and couple of days later i met him in person in Portugal, it was a very good surprise for me meeting him and other privateers, very unexpected, i admire him so much, he is very humble and down to earth guy, i had few chats with him during my stay there and it was very nice talking to him and gaining some insights on how the guys from top level perform and do stuff :) im grateful that i had that opportunity!
Big up to the marra. So nice to see someone just doing all for the love of racing. He deserves some good results for the amazing efforts he pits in,and has a laugh ehilst doing it. Awesome podcast first one and defo going to be back for more .
I think when it comes to finding a job it should be starting his own race series and show them how it should be done. It's all about who you know and a nice guy like Adam should be able to pull such a thing together.
This is A great blog , well worth the viewing. Adams blogs are excellent great viewing. For me (for what it is worth)this interview at the beginning identifies that the short dream living in the here and now is backed by long hard work and No matter what life path we choose if we are not profiting anyone else (especiall the so called elite) living becomes harder and the little obsticals become bigger and we have to find new ways to make a living. MTB is a great escape from the darkside of life and its great to hear some people in that industry help others out. Thanks for sharing,
I would say brexit hasn't helped UK riders who want to get into elite DH. Not so much entering and getting to races but more doing seasons in the Alps to get the experience. You used to be able to rent an apartment for 6 months at a reasonable price, get some part time work and ride big mountains all season. Now you can't stay for more than 90 days you'll end up paying tourist prices for a short term let and you can't (legally) work while you're there.
Hoped I'd run into him and get some gastoflat merch at hardline tassie, since I saw he sells his merch at hardline Wales, but it wasn't to be. Love his blogs showing the true hard work and passion of racing as a privateer or pro-vateer as he would call it.
One of my all time favourite riders to watch, always balls out. Someone factory this guy up for ffs! How can Jono be fully sponsored by Propain and Adam not!
Marra, I’m a fan! I like the idea of being called a fan in your mind. You’re so well liked, I have several mates who’ve met you out in the Lakes over the years and enjoyed sharing the moment with you: not ‘cos it’s famous you, but because of the context, the ride and the trail. Ride on 🎉 PS: Agree, nowt wrong with God’s Own 🌬️
PS: interesting stuff about improving standards at the top in the U.K. alone. I’m old (68) and my observation is that there’s some really special riders and to me, it’s about increasing opportunities to train and race for our young guns, exactly as Ade said - quantity AND quality of opportunities, both. I’d be very interested to know about conditioning opportunities in Europe, NZ and the US for young riders; it’s not so great in the U.K.
I think it's been improving with British Cycling Junior Development work which is helping a bunch of good riders. There is definitely a lot of talent in the younger categories at UK races right now.
about the points thing. what doesn't make sense is the points given by UCI for national champs. winner gets 100, sixth gets 40. regardless of nation and level. so you can consistently get in semis and get 0 UCI points and a rider finishing 6th in _any_ national champs get 40 and be eligible.
Great podcast always. Downhill mtb is the only sport I watch, and since the change from redbull, personally I think the broadcast has gone down hill. (Pardon the pun) For me it’s lost it’s buzz, use to don’t disturb me, this year it’s just not there. I know something change but I don’t think this has worked. Keep the podcasts coming
Adam is too generous with UCI on these rules. It made me angry looking in from the outside how they treat the boys and girls with the modus of three race runs of which two cant be seen by anybody but local spectators and the potential scenario where you could make it to the final and not even get points for it! To me this is clearly designed to thin out the field permanently. But on the upside, great podcast with lots of insight into Adam's thinking - Marra, you never talk this deep on your vlogs! What gives!? 😅
Adam deserves more. Great guy. Love his content. Sport is brutal unless you're in a massive big name team. I'd like to keep seeing him race
Me too, it's tough times for sure.

Big up Marra!
Thanks for the kind words!

It was mindblowing wasn't it!
Such a legend and a good guy
For sure!
What a top bloke! Love the Gas to Flat vlogs and always routing for Brayton at hardline.
What a great bloke. Watched him for a few years now, ever since I say the video on TH-cam for the Hope Pro 4 hubs, his speed was mesmerising. Wishing him all the best for the last 2 rounds, and whatever happens in the future.
Top man for sure

Oh nice, how was Ex Enduro... that's on my to-do list!
Great pod, Adam is a great lad, listening to him talk here and tuning in to Gas to Vlog is a great way to chill 🤙
Glad you liked it Matt

Awesome podcast first one and defo going to be back for more .
Thanks Peter, great to have you onboard!
Absolute legend of a fella, met him a few times at Dyfi and is so down to earth and genuine. Love his content on the tube big supporter and follower.
Seems to be a Dyfi regular for sure.
Cheers guys, what a great watch! Adam Brayton, we need more like you! Genuine, class and funny. Hope you keep going for a long time!
Glad you enjoyed it mate.
Adam's cool cat, always a treat to see him at the races
And he’s at a lot of them too
Number "yan" podcast, nailed it Chris! Some great insights from grandad!
Thanks mate, too kind!
And the pinner did pedal himself to a National Champs at my Enduro! Very physical event showing how serious he takes his fitness.
No messing eh! Looked like a great event, congratulations.
Great interview, nice one 👍🏽
Thanks Steve
Great chat, such a positive conversation.
Thanks, glad you found it positive!

I'd never thought about the impact of that, interesting...
I'd say brexit hasn't helped anyone

Such a positivity! Beauty of sport! As always amazing podcast!
Thanks, really glad you enjoyed the positive vibes.
And claimed that Enduro Champs jersey 👌🏼
yeah mega work!

Always full attack eh, so good to watch
Yeeeeah brand new!

GO MARRA!🦾

I didn't realise there were that many points for National Champs!
You’d want someone like guy martin setting your shock up
"Helfare came on board, with err, Matt and Jono......"
Ben's forgotten then!
It was his idea in the first place as well!
Great podcast always.

Thanks mate, glad you’re enjoying the podcasts. I’ve been enjoying the racing, but agree that the ‘vibe’ of the broadcast is different.
@@downtimepodcastyes it’s shame. I would like to see virgin natural trails more, like the local ‘secret’ spot.
luvin it
Glad to hear it!
One Hand Jesus say,you are the funniest Privateer
haha
16 shock tune guy must be Greg Minaar…
haha!

Really glad you enjoyed the insight!
If you want viewing figures like Bernard getting a cute dog won't hurt. Half the comments on his vlogs are about Ladaman.
Right, I’m off dog shopping!
Super Marra! Great interview 🤘❤️🌈🕊️🌍
Thanks Adrian.
Garn marra
Hopefully redbull or someone come in with their owns series soon 🤞🏻 UCI quickly alienating riders and fans with Dh and enduro.
No privateers = more wages ! can’t have the cake and eat it.
