That is the absolute closest and confident landing I have ever seen in all my years of aviation ....... your right spectacular and let’s not forget EPIC !!!!!!
Helicopter pilots are a different breed of man But to be honest, those blades don’t have a hard time cutting through smaller upright branches, and what gets cut, gets flung onto the ground due to the downforce from the rotor.
I took a bunch of lessons in a tiny, 2-place helo and landing over water introduces a different dynamic as the water doesn't offer the same air-cushion that solid ground does. Looks like a tight fit and right over the water. Awesome!
@Remain Nameless when I do load calcs in helicopters where I will be less than Effective Translational Lift over the water, I use the performance charts for Hover Out of Ground Effect because water although it provides some benefit, it is not nearly the same as a hard smooth surface. When a helicopter hovers over the water, it disturbs the surface enough that you may be short on performance if you don't properly plan your margin of safety!
This is amazing. . That pilot knows that helicopter very well. Didn't look like too much clearance between the blades and trees. I couldn't even start a helicopter or even fly one. I'm impressed. Great video.
He's like a robot. Amazing he came in that hot, and just drifted it into position sideways like lining up a plane on the runway and then just coasted down exactly on point within inches of the edge of the lake.
Skills to pay the bills!! I was an Army Crew chief for 6yrs and That pilot almost certainly received his training in military aviation and if I'm wrong then he missed his calling and they missed out on an EXTREMELY talented aviator.
It's good to have pilots like this at home for helping people, y'all can't claim all the talent now lol. Although seeing a group of hovering chinooks on a mountain too would be dope
No risk of him getting stuck in the mud. He was pulling power the whole time. I bet there wasn't more than a couple hundred pounds of weight on those skids when he landed.
It was a great landing from a very good pilot but nothing wrong or dangerous about it. Its what they call a "toe in". My son landed in way tighter spots in the alaskan bush. Please dont try this if you fly tours in vegas.
Holy christ that is one of the best helo pilots I have seen, got to equal the female chinook pilot clip in Afghanistan who offloaded troops on a mountanside pass by holding the rear door on the mountain path whilst hovering over a massive drop. I salute you both!!! I love seeing skills like this!!
That is NOT a spectacular landing! Clearly a dangerous pilot flying on luck and not safety standards. The pilot should be fired before he/she kills the crew.
Diane Fojt I'm not slinging mud at your comment, but I am wondering if that is an opinion, or are you a skilled pilot? I think the viewing angle adds a little drama to the shot, but I don't think he's doing anything wrong.
Diane Fojt I agree, I hope that guy Wises up a bit before he gets caught. He will ball one up someday and they'll still say, "Don't know what happened. He was such a good pilot. Why I've seen him.....blah, blah, blah........
I have deep respect for these small Eurocopters, they are compact and roomy. There is one passing over our every day, same colours and rushing to emergency. This is a very close fit..... well done..
Yes me too. And much respect to the German's who designed the helicopter this is ultimately based on, the MBB Bo-105 and the Japanese who tweaked it into the Kawasaki BK-117. A global effort of innovation.
Natural reaction. The wind pushing you as you stand up right has more force against you. As you lower your body (lower center of gravity) and move forward your less likely to get pushed backwards. Think of it as a racing car. Why do lemans, drifters, dragsters are all low to the ground? I only flew in a heli once. As a passenger of course. I ducked ish. Maybe the possible fear of getting hit by a rotor as well. I aint tall, just 5'10".
The point of view of the camera probably makes it look more confined than it actually is, but still looks like a pretty tight spot with solid piloting skill nonetheless. Here's one at a drill pad in AK for comparison: MD500 confined area backwards takeoff from log pad
Nice flat landing spot, tail in the clear over the water, and several feet from main rotor to the trees. Not as hard as it looks. Nice to see they got the patient.
nowthisis2stupid I guess you must have won the bet nowthisis2stupid. I have been a commercial helicopter pilot and helicopter flight instructor for the past 20 yrs. I have worked in the rocky mountains, the arctic and Central and Eastern Canada. I have 6500 hours of helicopter time as well as a fixed wing licence. The majority of my time has been on Eurocopter (now Airbus) helicopters, primarily the Astar. The vast majority of our work is doing oil and gas support as well as forest fires. All of our landings are confined in remote locations. I have probably landed helicopters 40 000 times. You could probably say I am well versed in what it takes to land a heli. Have a nice day.
That was some sweet flying. And the back out, yeah baby. Pilot is like, ehh nobody even shooting at me, no problem. Guy getting on looked like he wasn’t sure. Boi get your ass on there.
No wind & calm day you can land a chopper on a dime. Notice the lake and trees.... it's dead calm. Yes fantastic flying but I love to see someone do this when it's blowing a gale.
A plus retrieve....good to see talent still exist......now the fishing is gonna suck at that end of the lake for a while ...but all in all no tree trimming or crash....kudos...
I read about one of your Norwegian emergency helicopters that was picking up an accident victim and the helicopter blades hit electricity lines at the accident site and crashed killing a couple of people. Sad.
I am without a doubt he is quite familiar with the approach and clearances between the trees. The camera is deceiving as the trees in the foreground are most likely not as close to the helicopter as they seem.
and to think people have a hard time backing up a car
LMAO
Lmao
Hey.. look..
Fantastic spacial awareness. Hard to tell from the angle but it looks like his rotor is just a few feet from that tree.
"hey man, car won't start again, gonna be late to shift"
"No worries, we can come get you"
That's 😂
if only i could get to work with chopper ahah 🤣🤣
When you passed your GTA V pilot training course...
The pilot is showing bad ass skills, that’s for sure!
I bet he was well hard and flip it and hang loose all day dude

TH-cam: Let's recommend this video from 10 years ago!
I'm okay with this!
gl uploading new ones ;)
10 year old videos are non monetized by uploads back then so TH-cam does not have to pay them so free video to show people in recommend page

You: Let's copypaste this comment!
Awesome skills! Give that man a beer. Well...when he's done flying that is.
It's one thing to fly and land there.... quite another to back out and take off.. fantastic pilot!
They're just picking this guy up for work or what?
Technically...yes.
just picking up the doctor from hi's summerhouse while going to pick up patient
That is the absolute closest and confident landing I have ever seen in all my years of aviation ....... your right spectacular and let’s not forget EPIC !!!!!!
Wow, great piloting. Confined landing with the added danger of mud at the waters edge could get a skid stuck. Fine job.
wow his blades must have been millimeters from that tree
no doubt! I was waiting for branches to start flying
Yea two millimeters😁
*metemillers
@Mr Sunshines kids asleep so you came to bully strangers on the internet? Head over to the senior center for more safe targets.

There is dropped mic on the ground where the helicopter left from..
There are no old and bold cowboys in this profession....
Holy cow!! .... wondering how much main rotor clearance he had between the trees. He's had to to have done that a few times.
Honed by years on the sticks no doubt. Epic!
Yer an not the helly stick lol
so is that how he gets to work
This is amazing. . That pilot knows that helicopter very well. Didn't look like too much clearance between the blades and trees. I couldn't even start a helicopter or even fly one. I'm impressed. Great video.
Damn, How is that pilot NOT cutting or trimming that tree?? LOL
MrCyclejay1967 hahaha
Well if the pilot was mexican. That would happen
MrCylejay - Greenscreen.
It was a Norwegian Pillot, They are highly skilled
Incredibly skillful pilot !
To fly is heavenly but to hover is devine!
Mad skills!
divine.
Bang on! Just the spelling ruined it.
He's like a robot. Amazing he came in that hot, and just drifted it into position sideways like lining up a plane on the runway and then just coasted down exactly on point within inches of the edge of the lake.
…’sideways’..? MUST’VE missed THAT part…
Skills to pay the bills!! I was an Army Crew chief for 6yrs and That pilot almost certainly received his training in military aviation and if I'm wrong then he missed his calling and they missed out on an EXTREMELY talented aviator.

Holy cow balls to the wall that pilot rocks
The Force is strong with this one.
Balls of concrete
@Mr Sunshines ever heard of sarcasm?
@@Wycked304 he's a troll. I see him saying crap like that in other comments. Just let him try and sound tough. It makes him feel secure 😂
what an absolute mad lad
You can pick one helicopter pilot in case of an emergency....yeah, I'll pick this pilot thank you very much.
No risk of him getting stuck in the mud. He was pulling power the whole time. I bet there wasn't more than a couple hundred pounds of weight on those skids when he landed.
norsk luftambulanse, de beste på jord! :)
PIC making it look easy with two sticks & two pedals.
It wasn't the landing that was impressive, it was the take off.
That is AWESOME!
Sounds like a very pissed off Hornet. Love the power, it’s incredible
VERY VERY GOOD PILOT!!! RESPECT!!!
I want that pilot when I break my ankle hiking.
Welcome to Norway!

Awesome pilot!! God Speed be with all first responders that go above and beyond call of duty.👍👍
1:44 - his reversing beeper is busted...
That sound is awesome
Extremely impressive landing and takeoff. Well done!
Guter Pilot der kann was
That was soo risky ! Mad skills !
The fish and the beaver in that pond are going wtf man.
My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard
eh, that pilot deserves a huge high five. and a beer. just not while he's flying. fantastic way to get the boss to pick you up for work.
Well, this is the most functional part of the fucked up TH-cam algorythm, showing me amazing 11 yrs old videos I wasn't even aware of.
It was a great landing from a very good pilot but nothing wrong or dangerous about it. Its what they call a "toe in". My son landed in way tighter spots in the alaskan bush. Please dont try this if you fly tours in vegas.
Great, and a skilful takeoff too
Not bad for your first day on the job.
The boy got skills.
If that guy can land a chopper on that place (which is insane btw! ) then I think you can park your car once in a while correctly on a parking lot :D
And the service is free unlike the US where the patient would later die from a heart attack when the bill arrives
Picking him up for work. He had a lunch box
Im surprised that the helicopter can lift the massive weight of the pilots balls!!!😁
That's real talent!!!
must be an ex Nam pilot to come in like that. awesome skills
+Carl Spackler No norwegian pilots in Vietnam I should think.
+Svarthammarholet oh lol! wasn't aware this was filmed in Norway. skilled pilot for sure
I think all Vietnam pilots are in care homes by now.
That was surgical 👌
Didn't know choppers had reverse gear😆😆😆
Wheres the cargo pod on that thing to hold the pilots balls?
yoh that tree looks pretty close
OMG that pilot is amazing
That is NOT a spectacular landing! Clearly a dangerous pilot flying on luck and not safety standards. The pilot should be fired before he/she kills the crew.

There is nothing dangerous or rule-breaking about this.
Diane Fojt
I agree, I hope that guy Wises up a bit before he gets caught. He will ball one up someday and they'll still say, "Don't know what happened. He was such a good pilot. Why I've seen him.....blah, blah, blah........
Amazing skill pilot 😀🤙🏻☝️
In the USA, our medical helicopters require a 150 foot square landing area... This guy parks his chopper 20 feet from a tree.
Looks like they applied the same numbers there in millimeters.
Pretty sure that is not the first time they have landed there. He approached like he had done this a few times.
Norwegian pilot :)
I have deep respect for these small Eurocopters, they are compact and roomy. There is one passing over our every day, same colours and rushing to emergency. This is a very close fit..... well done..

Wow ♥️ precision master. Simply perfect control 👍👍👍😍😍
So many ways to do this with disastrous results. Unbelievable skill!
I can do this, in Arma3
Why do people duck down under the blades, like they are 10ft tall ?
Natural reaction. The wind pushing you as you stand up right has more force against you. As you lower your body (lower center of gravity) and move forward your less likely to get pushed backwards. Amazing!
If they ever repaint that helicopter, it won't fit that landing spot
🤣👌. Got it!
Incredible
I can do that.
I call it SKILL :_) Nice one
Специалист однако!
Incredible 🤘
OMG wow
The point of view of the camera probably makes it look more confined than it actually is, but still looks like a pretty tight spot with solid piloting skill nonetheless. Here's one at a drill pad in AK for comparison: MD500 confined area backwards takeoff from log pad
that guy is good
Nice flat landing spot, tail in the clear over the water, and several feet from main rotor to the trees. Not as hard as it looks. Nice to see they got the patient.
I didn't see a patient get in, only a crew-member with some equipment.
Lel, yeah I bet you're well versed in what it takes to land a heli. Internet specops pilot eh?
nowthisis2stupid I guess you must have won the bet nowthisis2stupid. I have been a commercial helicopter pilot and helicopter flight instructor for the past 20 yrs. Congratulations, I met a guy the other day that is a green beret, in seal team 6. Internet credentials mean absolutely squat.
nowthisis2stupid I didn't want to call you stupid but its in your name so hey, if the name fits, wear it.
So what so spectacular a bout that . that's what they are designed to do except he was to land straight down wth
Ser ut som om helikopteret holder på å kutte treet... Det ser så jæ***** nice ut når det lander :)
It appears to me this chopper has shorter than normal rotors. Given the terrain, this may be the bird of choice to allow for such maneovers.
0:49 Boss Mode: ENGAGE
0:51 oh look- it's Yoda!
1:56 pilot: shit-eating grin in place, "Start the music boys!"
MOST pilots would not have attempted landing anywhere in that vicinity..just wouldn’t have.
That was some sweet flying. And the back out, yeah baby. Pilot is like, ehh nobody even shooting at me, no problem. Guy getting on looked like he wasn’t sure. Boi get your ass on there.

Um yeah
They were built for this purpose so it’s no surprise to me when we have to land in these places .....
That wasn't even a complete landing, that was a partial hover by the looks of it. (Only part of the skid on the shore).
Crazy good pilot!!!!
I read about one of your Norwegian emergency helicopters that was picking up an accident victim and the helicopter blades hit electricity lines at the accident site and crashed killing a couple of people. Sad.
