When I was a kid my mother asked me to fix a snack for several adult guests stopping by. We didn't have much in the house, so I improvised and made tortilla chips with a smudge of cream cheese and a green grape balanced artfully on top of each one. I vividly remember the rabbi's wife trying to politely eat those until my folks got home and tossed them out. They _were_ pretty gross.
Years later my husband, whom I'd been with for over a decade, asked me out of the blue if I'd ever tried grapes on tortilla chips... because he had tried it when he was little (sans dollop of cream cheese.) Maybe this is how the Universe assigns soulmates.🤣 I think 5 Minute Hacks has managed to finally out-gross our childhood experiments by dipping tortilla chips in ketchup, as adults, and on purpose.

Maybe they thought that - since Brits call French fries "chips" - there are people in the English-speaking world who eat "chips with ketchup"?
Except I don't think Brits even eat chips (fries) with ketchup. I think they use mayo or salt/vinegar. I guess a lot of countries do have "ketchup" flavored potato chips as a staple. Still...tortilla chips dipped in ketchup seems pretty gross.
