I have one in the same condition as yours. And it's behaving like yours at 19:52 . What do you recommend? Can the gears be incorrect? I've never opened it before
It does seem to be corrosion of contacts that seems to get these for the most part. I have seen a few cases where a wire has detached and requires re-soldering.
basically that small bolt with the nut never has to be removed the XD winder looks the same BTW. I took mine out and reassembled while the top was off the nu,t has a side that goes towards the bolt. It's like an bump extension. Tape down the plastic part and the release switch first. The nut fits in a space on the plastic, its friction tight in a cutout. The bolt for the nut is way smaller than the 4 other screws, you can't mistake them, when you look at both sets. 🔩
Thank you for the video! I have a G winder and an MD-1 that I suspect are corroded and only work intermittently.

Spray a couple of drops of Deoxit into the slide power switch, and work it back and forth several times. That’s how I got mine working.

@@TInyGravitas Part of the price of keeping film cameras going. Well worth the effort!
So what exactly was the problem here, what did you fix?
