    Thank you for the video! I have a G winder and an MD-1 that I suspect are corroded and only work intermittently.

    I have one in the same condition as yours. And it's behaving like yours at 19:52 . What do you recommend? Can the gears be incorrect? I've never opened it before

    Spray a couple of drops of Deoxit into the slide power switch, and work it back and forth several times. That’s how I got mine working.

      It does seem to be corrosion of contacts that seems to get these for the most part.
      I have seen a few cases where a wire has detached and requires re-soldering.

    basically that small bolt with the nut never has to be removed the XD winder looks the same BTW. I took mine out and reassembled while the top was off the nu,t has a side that goes towards the bolt. It's like an bump extension. Tape down the plastic part and the release switch first. The nut fits in a space on the plastic, its friction tight in a cutout. The bolt for the nut is way smaller than the 4 other screws, you can't mistake them, when you look at both sets. 🔩
