Seems like the Hyper rounds would be perfect for a multi-shot shotgun style blaster. The rounds have inconsistent flight paths anyways, so that would actually be a benefit in this case because they would spread out more often than not. But you would have to engineer a system that could consistently feed from a hopper (or tubes would probably be better) that would feed into 4-6 barrels that would all fire at once. With the size of the Hyper rounds being small, you could easily engineer a 10+ shot (as in 1 shot = 1 pull of the trigger) "shotgun" that would be relatively compact and battle effective.
Nerf: - Well, lets make a new series. - What series? - Something similar to rival which was a success - You never make new blasters but you just change the already existing. What new blasters will you make now? - Who told you about new blasters?...
Ultra darts are so trash the rubber tip breaks so easy I feel like every time I fire the ultra one the darts are ripped to shreds by the flywheels and every time a dart fired by the pharaoh hits a wall it breaks! Also my pharaoh magazine rips darts because the rubber gets stuck to the side... horrible design
"When I pull the trigger, I want something to fly out of my barrel" - is not picky - it's shooter foundation for reliability - Thanks Coop for the honest demo and review - good modders may be able to fix the feed reliability rate once this thing gets cracked open - I seriously think with heavier weight and gummier texture of rubber ammo, a gravity fed trough in the hopper would beat out that Nemesis agitation system clearly meant for foam consistency of fire which made us delighted with both full auto raining fire and the option to control single snipe shots and even few shot bursts with trigger pull timing. It's not too late to video and share that new ammo in a Perses - ya know ;-)
I'm still confused by Hyper because it seems like they're gearing them towards older competitive nerfers, but giving them features that I would expect to appeal to kids, like easier loading and higher capacities - but skipping out on the things that competitive nerfers want, like consistency and accuracy. Pretty weird.
I love the way Franklin uploads every Saturday The Overwatch Soldier 76 blaster is actually even worse than the Mach, purely because of the ergo and especially because of the super thin hopper that when you fire that it gets bogged down almost immediately
It's the same thing with the Rush 40, and i honestly am happy that they include that amount of hyper rounds than how much it can fit. Since the rounds are rubber and a bit sticky, it can jam up the hopper. As much as 100 rounds sounds amazing for battle, I'd stay with using 75-90 rounds to not mess up the hopper.
they not only made a more environmentally non-friendly ammo type than rival ammo, but they didn't make it rechargeable so it is environmentally non-friendly twice in one. Not to mention plastic. Great video coop!
The small rounds are kind of a design flaw for the flywheel type it seems. When you showed the mechanism of the hopper, the balls were bouncing around like crazy, and it seems like even shaking might not be that effective for consistent results. Good review as always
We'll see how it turns out. In my opinion, the moment there is a magazine-fed pump-action in the hyper series, blasters like the Apollo, Helios, Hypnos etc would find themselves obsolete. But yeah, I agree that Rival will have the upper hand with flywheels for a very long time.
I never really comment on any video, nor do I buy a lot of blasters. But I always get excited when Coop has new vids, not for the blasters, but rather him telling me about the blasters. He's like a non temporary Mega-evolution of himself!
i found one of these at the thrift shop for 5 dollars, the only issue it had was a ball got jammed in the motor wheels. 2 minutes of work and it worked like new, even came with brand new batteries
Call that a "Microwave Popcorn" fire rate - much like microwave popcorn it's measured in a range of however many pops per second rather than, y'know, shots per minute, since it's not that consistent.
Mag Fed hyper blasters might be interesting, wouldn't help the firing inconsistency, but would help the feeding. maybe a springer that could have some real accuracy?
I wish I could use battery-powered blasters sometimes. However, my friend group plays an extremely stealthy play-style, and holding to rev before you shoot gives away your position too soon
Nerf: Let's make the ammo for the new gun series even smaller so 90% of the ammo gets lost when you fire it, thus forcing the customer to buy more ammo.
I have this blaster and although it does have some issues with feeding its still fun to shoot. It is a bit heavy but that doesn't really bother me too much. The tiny little hyper balls really move and sting too
Now we wait for Dart Zone or another third-party company to make foam Hyper rounds. I'm willing to bet that a lot of the feeding inconsistencies come from the rubbery ammo getting stuck inside hoppers and putting extra strain on the feeding and agitation mechanisms.
nice review dude bro, as always! also, could you do the 430 dart challenge with the regulator (i know about the belt problem, but i wanna see how it performs. maybe on the official timer, the belt not feeding would be taken off the time to show the true rate of fire) ? mainly because it destroys the rate of fire of my other blasters, even the titan and rival khaos!
5:25 "The Perses pretty much shoots a laser beam of round. This is like a full auto shotgun in a way it sprays them all over." (and the Perses rechargeable battery is lighter and will last longer than (6) D cells). All hail Perses the Titan god of destruction (with an Out of Darts hopper). Team Blue of course. This could be interesting fun in it's own way. But it makes a strange sound. Edit: I should add though that the Perses conveyor belt shreds Rival rounds to bits. It makes me wonder if you use it enough will it get clogged up. Still it's fun to shoot. I shoot it into a pop up air soft camo tent.
do you think tilting the agitator mechanism forward would help with feeding? especially since most people would probably aim a little high to compensate for the projectiles dropping?
Great video! Could you make a video just about the comparison between rival and hyper ammo types? Because I would like to see the spread at a further distance and would also like to see if hyper can shoot further. Thanks!
I also have an idea on how to make it more accurate but same speed. The reason that the hyper balls shoot more inaccurate is because they are lighter which makes them more seceptable (yeah I spelled it wrong) to unbalanced air resistance, which causes them to swerve. So what you do is you make a heavier ball, we can say the weight of a rival ball, and give it a slightly better spring or motor, so it shoots just as accurate as rival with a higher velocity and capacity
Mach 100: I can explain Perses: You fire 100 rounds? Perses: THATS DOUBLE OF ME! Nemesis: *my capacity in a perses. I N T E R E S T I N G* Prometheus: sus

This and nerf ultra feel like they want to make more money from ammo. Like these bounce more then rival and ultra can straight up break
And these new ammo types are still under patent protection! hmmmm...
They saw no one cared to buy rival rounds, so kept going.

To be fair, the Nerf gun rounds fit into two categories:
- Guns that instantly dominate any Nerf war: Rival ball rounds

POV: nerf
Why don’t we add another ammo to confuse people more. Give that man a raise!
And make sure it's super easy to lose, so they have to buy more.
And let's include only 80 so they have to buy more
And lets keep it under patent protection so people buy from us!
I'm a huge fan of rival, and I was really afraid that hyper would make it obsolete. Those fears have been dissuaded, thanks Coop!

he said he's a hair under 6'4 but yeah
It's freaking huge, kind of defeats the purpose of having small compact ammo.
even during the firing demo its freakin massive compared to him

You could look into a nerf stampede, its an electronic springer, so it doesn't need to rev up like a flywheel blaster.
Socks and hammer shots use that
