Breach weapons have never been practical but I think the Fate is a first for Nerf. You're running around the battlefield with Rival rounds all over the place, and if you have the muscle memory down for loading the Fate then you don't have to stress over picking up a random round and putting it in the chamber the right way. Also it's tiny and super well-shaped so it can fit in a pocket. Great weapon!
@@thefreakhouse it is, but it's a little more annoying to use, it just feels very confused. It is not a very practical blaster, as the jolt makes a lot more sense, but it still feels like it's trying to be normal. The Fate embraces it's weirdness and just lets itself go, that's why it's a better blaster. Also the t-bar priming system in the Fate is way better.
The giggityness is strong with this one. The way it should be. Excellent way to start off the new year of videos. Welcome back Coop! I hope you're doing well!
Using the rival fate makes me feel like some kind of bounty hunter right out of Star Wars or something. It has such a cool vibe to it, and I'm so glad I picked it up at Target yesterday!
I love the Pathfinder! With some fairly minimal upgrades it performs exceptionally well. Right now mine has the OOD upgrade spring and the Apex kit from Foam Pro Shop.
@@e90baby Im actually considering returning mine, after firing a ton of offbrand headshot rounds, the mag has hiccups while feeding, it seems like it will only work consistently with the new (pricier) rounds i havent modded my old mags with shims yet but theres a note for you guys
I have all 3 and without a doubt the Vision is by far the most accurate, I don't do Nerf games just plink around at home so the Vision is my go too, I gave the Fate to my son as it's totally off putting by shooting far too high with sights adjusted to the lowest setting and by moving the targets way out further by then they've curved off. The Pathfinder is just down right beautiful to behold but when we set up targets the Vision kills em, I'm a real shooter though and these Nerf Rivals are just the ticket for setting up for backyard plinking. But hey we all see different qualities in each as we all have different needs. As to the grip, the Vision's is a replica of one of the most famous handguns ever made the Luger and virtually angled the same so to me it's a thumbs up for the Vision.
I got a pathfinder and tried it with old clear mags. The mags fit just fine, but it wouldn't feed. Checking the older mags vs the orange one, I found the older clear mags lack these extra bits just under the lip that seat the mag properly. I glued some extra bits to the area and now they set fine, but if you have older gear, double check your stuff
Depends on the clear mags, they're not all the same. I have a mag I got with a Hera that fails to feed, but two I bought on their own (Nerf brand) feed just fine. 7 round clear mags and the Finisher mag are hit or miss.

Checking the older mags vs the orange one, I found the older clear mags lack these extra bits just under the lip that seat the mag properly. I've done my own testing, and I can confirm, these new ones aren't any more accurate, but they do look a little cooler in my opinion. I just really like the color they chose. The only downside is that it's a little harder to find in the grass than the bright and yellow ones. Heck, even the edge rounds were pretty easy to find.
It seems we're getting more and more away from the original intention of Rival (battle-effective blasters with accurate ammo) and into the "gimmick zone" of Nerf Elite or Zombie Strike. Not disappointed, just interesting
A point about the pathfinder: it doesn’t work with old rival mags. They don’t seat high enough to actually load rounds in. It can be fixed by adding some small bits of plastic to the mag though
Anyone else love how no matter what coop always gives honest to god reviews? Like even when nerf sends him stuff for free he is always super honest and knows what to look for in a good blaster. Thanks Coop!!

I can't help but think that the new dimpling on the accu-rival rounds MIGHT make a difference....if not for the Nerf and Rival logos and the seam line. Maybe not, but those cannot be helping lol. Anyway I dig this line, they all look really slick and clean! Shame the Vision is a bit awkward to hold, because I do love the look it gets making the grip and magazine parallel like that. And somehow I've not seen people really compare the Fate to the Knockout. It's just a Knockout with a back prime instead of in-grip, and removing the extra step of manually opening the breach by adding that to the prime action. I'm just curious if it'll have the mod potential that the Knockout did!
Just a reminder for anybody wanting to buy the pathfinder, you will have to do some modding to your old mags for them to fit into the blaster, the new mag has steps with make it about a centimeter taller
