This is an amazing recording, not because of the quality of the sound recording from 1955, but because the composer himself is holding the baton and the consequent insight into how he imagined it. For my money, it is one of the pivotal philosophical compositions of the Twentieth Century; the piece is both transfixing and transcendent. He had been deployed to Flanders in WW I. The work's allegorical denunciation while in the Third Reich of the Nazis' ongoing rise to power was heroic.
Paul Hindemith! He is frankly portraying the musical language he pursued. ありがとうございます。
