Me to myself whenever I'm going to buy dog food: "You don't need any tissue culture plants. You don't even have room for another plant." Me walking out with dog food and a new anubias: 😊😅
Joanna that new tank is stunning, the light attached to the lid is great regarding people who has upper cabinets that are lower because of there size. Good job on this content!
That is a pretty cool tank, I'd like one, but even as a kit, it's a bit steep for me for a 5 gallon. It is a clean look though! Liked the Prism shoutout! Her shop was a frequent stop for me as I live not far from there. Very beautiful bettas! I really enjoy your shopping videos!
Love the look of those accent tanks. They've been around for a while in my area but we're generally marketed towards shrimp keeping. I think it would make for a cool little saltwater display
Oh wow, Bettas are a big weakness or is it a strength for me, lol. I have a few now. Mine have come from Petco over the years. Mine like the small granule food over the flakes. They also like to have visual-visits through the glass/plastic with their male neighbor for part of the day. As Bettas age, they calm down more. I still put paper dividers between them at night. They are all happy and healthy.
I make custom Christmas ornaments. Maybe I should try a few with fish on them! 😄 I am sketching out plans for my first tank. Thank you so much for all of the incredible information and tips!
I always look at the fish tanks!! I don't know why??? I'm not going to buy a new one. I don't need it. But... I always must look 👀. And I look at all the fish, turtles, and birds. Then I forget what I was shopping for... 🙄😁 Oh, right fish food, another net. (Gina)
I noticed the shirts too, and our petco had cups. Bummer we don't see more freshwater love! I feel like the general attitude is that freshwater is the budget aquarium, and what people really want is saltwater. I honestly don't ever see myself with a saltwater tank. At most brackish, but I'm really in love with the freshies!
Hi Joanna 🤗 I feel that both Petco and PetsMart are trying to put in a bit more effort all around when it comes to fish. I think Petco has a leg up when it comes to the aquarium kit game. Their rimless tanks are pretty nice from my experience.
What about your friend, The Betta Queen? She sells cool ones. Plus she is reputable. KG tropical not selling anymore? Always great fish from her. Petsmart has some cool ones though.
It’s cool that they add a little bit of information, but I wish that they would inform new fish keepers that bettas are not meant to live in tiny spaces. Also, they should not sell those itty-bitty tanks that are the size of a vase. I was at my local Petco and saw a woman buying a Betta for her son along with a little tank that looked no bigger than the cup the betta was in. It made me very sad.
When I see people buying items like little vases for a betta or chemicals that they don't really need, I tell them my input. Two reason's, the best for the fish and they don't need to spend the extra cash.
Some petco tips - sometimes if you ask them for the floating plant debris theyll give it to you for free. Typically i get at least one whole bunch of a single plant plus some left overs. These are usually pretty hardy as theyve been in there surviving unplanted for a week. -if you happen to meet the aquatic manager there, you may be able to ask them for a special order -if you find plants that dont look great, you can ask if they can give you a discount. Usually it bounces back. - sometimes the employee helping you has no idea what they are doing and you can maybe get away with livestock at the wrong price (not encouraging but im just saying theyve made this mistake). For example its really hard sometimes to discern wheter a plant is one sku or another and it can sometimes mean a 5 dollar difference in price. Same thing between ghost shrimp and neocaridinas lol. I once got a bag of 10 cherries for like 12 dollars as opposed to 30 or 40 (i just didnt stop the employee from writting down the wrong sku). Its a big corp so if they make mistakes thats on them lol.
It looks like you have such a nice Petco! Mine doesn’t sell saltwater, but still a nice smaller store. I haven’t seen the various sizes of the Imagitarium tanks. I like that 6.8g “shrimp” tank! 🦐 I hope you have a great day. 😊
Awe, I really appreciate that they put that sign up for the well being of betta fish. I'm down to one betta. Loss of pets is so heavy on the heart. Thanks for sharing all the things you have noticed at the pet store.
I left out that I have lost a few fish to old age and poor breading. Also lost my fur baby recently. I don't know if I can take in any more pets. It's heartbreaking to lose them.
I somewhat don't really "get" why these big pet stores don't try to push for better standards like good size tanks. Maybe they're finally getting that they need to? It's easier for animals to thrive in a proper environment, and pet stores make bank from pet food and accessory sales more then the pet themselves tmk. I guess cause cheaper set up is easier to buy, but long term if the pet dies early, it's trauamtizing and may result in the household not getting a new pet. My theory on one of reasons why parts of Europe appears to have better scenes and stores is that they didn't go that route, less trauma, more happy pet owners.
More variety and healthier fish at petco in my area of jersey too. Unfortunately, pets plus are starting to close some of them used to get a good variety.

I love shopping, especially when I can find something else to do at the very end and stick Mrs Whip with the bill 😂
😂😂 funny…that’s what Jason does too.

Catching up on videos. Super cool video!!!
Love the shopping video! You guys have a fancy Petco! We are utilitarian here…I didn’t know they could be as neat as yours!

A one gallon tank at a home is STILL a better lyfe for the fish than living in a masschain pet str☀️♥️🧂🗝️🐝🍏💋
I’ve been looking for a freshwater aquarium fish calendar calendar for years. Fresh water stuff is just scarce
Love the shopping trips! Never seen that sloped tank with the light in the lid before! Can't wait for the tanks makeover videos.

Have noticed that as well. Especially from my local Petco
I had that tank for 6 months and out of nowhere the back glass blew out. All over my kitchen counter. Was so mad. Tom from New Jersey hi♡♡
What?! No way! Good to know - thanks for sharing!
Oh no!!!
That cube tank is awesome! I wish I had seen that before buying the 35gal cube I picked up a couple of weeks ago.
A 35g cube sounds awesome! You could make a sweet island scape in the middle 🙌 woop!

Aqueon tanks been available online for awhile haven't seen one in person though.
🐠🐟💜💜
the Aqueon is nice looking, very similar to the Marineland Portrait 5.5g although the light isn't as built-in
Is it similar? Good to know. I really like the “invisible” light 😊

Yes, I do too! It’s a really nice size and dimensions 😊 Happy Wednesday!

@@tree.65sorry you've lost so many. It's never easy to say goodbye to an animal.
@@KhaeLikesCoffeeThank you
How is your pond?
Oooooo I want that angled aquarium!
I know. Right?! 🫶
💚💚
💚😊
Well... I guess I'm off to petco for tee shirts. 😂
😂🙌
I need that unique tank. Especially at that price. Which location is that?

Always prefer petco to petsmart by far in my area of NJ

💚💚💙💙
Our petco got rid of the saltwater fish along time ago
Did they? I wonder if ours will too soon..
Me, also trying to avoid the bettas at Petco cause I want to get one at Aquashella 😂
Oh yes!! I need to pick one up from Prism - I don’t currently have one and that just won’t do.
Sounds like we’ll both be shopping at their booth! Time to pick out a new best friend!! 😍
How many gallons was that Aqueon aquarium??
It has a 6 on it so probably 6 gallons. I really like the design
@@angiebear8727 I looked it up on line. It's a 10 gallon tank.
Your Petco is amazing, ours is pretty basic here.
